Why Diane and Neal McCabe chose Thornton
We fell in love with this property as soon as we saw it! We searched for a long time to find a property that could provide us with great outdoor adventures, but be within a 3 hour ride from our home.
What makes this Townhome unique
The townhouse is large enough to have our large extended families visit and stay and vacation with us!

Great location and house layout; clean
We stayed at this house with another family (4 adults and 4 children). Lots of room in the house and plenty of bathrooms. We all had fun playing pool, darts and ping pong.
One of the best rental experiences ! The location of this home was very convenient to the ski area as well as winter hiling trails. The home itself, was well organized, fully stocked, very clean and lots and lots of fun. Would rent this unit again!
Nice condo in WV
The condo is nice and spacious. Two private rooms with large beds (one upstairs and one downstairs) and another room upstairs with 6 beds. The game room downstairs is great for groups with a ping pong table and darts. My one complaint was that the downstairs floor was soaked when we arrived (perhaps from a leak?). It was inconvenient but didn't detract from our stay. Thanks Diane and Neal.
Beautifully decorated townhouse, well equipped for a comfortable stay
We, party of 6, stayed at Diane's townhouse in December of 2018, I will highly recommend it to everyone. Diane is very responsive. House was very clean, every corner and every sheet was clean, and we were very pleased with that as my wife is very peculiar about the cleanliness. House was elegantly decorated, hosts have a great artistic taste. Kitchen was well stocked with basic stuff i.e salt, sugar, butter, etc. We bought extra k-cups for coffee maker because we are big time coffee drinkers. Kitchen was well equipped with china (plates, etc), cups, pots, pans, toaster, waffle maker, etc. Dish washer was an additional features that saved us washing dishes during our holidays. We did not use grill but I saw these sitting in backyard.
House is full of games like pool, dart, uno, ping pong, cards, janga etc. and I with my kids have a blast. I was pleased that I could take them off the computer for few days and spend time together. This is a huge house that we only realized once we were there, it can easily fit two families with total of six kids by using existing beds, but one can easily add more beds by using sleep sofas and air mattresses that I am not counting.
Diane emailed me the directions and those were great because GPS tried to take us to a different address. This house is 15 minutes away from exit #28 of I-93. The grocery stores and gas station are close to this exit. Campton Cupboad is the closet grocery store that is a medium size store with all basic stuff, it is not as huge as a Market basket but it is open 365 days/year even on X-mas. Waterville ski area is also 15 minutes away, it is not as good as Loon mountain but little less crowded but prices are comparable to Loon. We bought tickets online a night before going and it was 20% cheaper. I noted that there are a good number of trails in the area but due to winter weather, we did not go for one, but it could be fun in summer. Please note this house is located in a large community surrounded by nature and it is not located in a town, and this is how NH rentals are. Roads around the area are not always salted and can have snow accumulation. During my stay it snow just 1 inch but it was enough to make road slippery during snow fall. As soon as you come off route 49 and the road is going up a small hill and a minivan in front of my SUV slipped few times and decided to use the other longer route from the other side. My SUV did not slip and we were able to make it to house fine.
We loved our stay!!
We loved our stay!! The place was clean and well kept. Very cute inside. We would definitely stay her again.
A house for our family vacation
The house was exactly what we were looking for. We had 3 couples and a toddler. The 3 bedrooms were adequately spaced and provided sufficient comfort for the adults. Papa and Nanny shared the bunk room with their grandson which provided multiple sleeping options. The household amenities (dishes, pots / pans, towels, appliances, etc.) were plentiful and clean. The only downside was the fact that we were there during an extremely hot week. While the fans provided some relief, they were only moving around the warm air. And, at night when the temperatures fell, the humidity made everything feel wet. So, air conditioning and / or a dehumidifier would have made the atmosphere a little more tolerable. Given a choice, I would have removed the glass top table in the family room - it impeded the recliners and is a nightmare with a toddler running around. The distance to the pool was a little farther than I expected and it took us several tries to actually find it the first time - it wasn't as straight forward as anticipated. The location was convenient - easy drives to Lincoln, Franconia Notch and North Conway. My son, grandson and I did the Welch-Dicky hike which was absolutely phenomenal. Also, the dark night skies provided amazing star-gazing. The game room provided many laughs with the dart board and pool table. Also, having the TV there was a good distraction for the last "loser". Lastly, the grill was very nice to have as we grilled burgers and were able to make "poor man" s'mores. Overall, we were very pleased with the property and greatly enjoyed our stay. Thank You for sharing your home with us!!!
