Breathtaking View, Cozy Cottage, Close In, But Far Enough...

Bedrooms 1
Space 600 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 4 nights

About the property

1 Bedroom Cottage Overlooking Puget Sound And Olympic Mountains!

1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, complete kitchen and cozy living room. Part of historic Seahurst neighborhood and within ten minutes of Sea-Tac airport (SEA). Enjoy the shops and restaurants of downtown Burien, or drive 20 minutes to downtown Seattle.

This darling cottage is your perfect home away from home. The space feels rustic and quiet while being part of a wonderful neighborhood and very close to the city. The view of the Sound and Olympic mountains is at times uplifting and magnificent. The bedroom has a brand new very comfortable queen bed. The kitchen is well equipped and has a new dishwasher. This is indeed a very special place!

I dare you to not jump barefoot through the garden and yard while screaming - 'Oh my god, this is amazing!' while taking pictures of the ferry boats and tug boats. I've seen it happen.

Our house, an older updated and restored log home, is on the property. We would love to say hello and hear about your travels. You will find first day breakfast in your refrigerator - probably a nourishing veggie and egg frittata topped with cheese for you to bake at your convenience. Our terrier Rowdy and large pointer mix Juneau can be seen playing and rough-housing together.

Our quiet neighborhood boasts a variety of mid-century home styles and our street in particular seems to be used by many for daily walks. We are right above the lovely Seahurst Park. Unfortunately it is closed this Winter 2013 for removal of the seawall that is there. Eagle Landing Park is just to the south of us if you like climbing stairs for exercise. Within walking distance ~ 152nd is the place to be. The small town atmosphere boasts several sweet choices for eating out.

A taxi is about twenty dollars from the airport. It would be a several block walk from the bus . The Burien transit center is on 148th near the Safeway shopping center.

Burien is well located for everything Seattle has to offer. Southcenter Shopping is ten minutes to the east.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for sharing such a darling piece of cottage life with us. The grounds are beautiful, view could not be proved, nor

could the privacy, coziness, or cleanliness have been one bit better! All was perfect.

Thank you,

Sue and Emily

Cottage on the Bluff

  • 5 of 5

Truly one of the most beautiful locations I have ever had the pleasure of staying at and enjoying. Who cares that it may be raining!?! The few pictures of the view you may see here, pale in comparison to the reality that awaits you. Breathtaking, YES!

If you have to come to Seattle or Tacoma for any reason, don't bother with the big hotels in the crowded cities. Head straight for this sweet cottage on the bluff.

Great location, well appointed, comfortable. A perfect getaway.

Sometimes pictures don't really do justice to a property. There is nothing wrong with the photos in the listing--they are very accurate, but one cannot appreciate the setting and view of this property without seeing it in person.

First, excellent communication with Nancy prior to and after checking in. The property is very close to Seatac airport (maybe 10-15 minutes?) but you will not hear any planes overhead. Grocery stores and restaurants are a very short distance away. The setting is just stunning. Private, secluded property with fantastic views of the Sound. The cottage is impeccably clean and very well equipped with just about every convenience necessary for a stay. Upon arrival, Nancy had provided breakfast for the following day: muffins and mini-quiches fresh from a local bakery, orange juice, coffee, and tea. (Chocolate bars too, although probably not intended for breakfast). The cottage is spacious, quiet and comfortable. Fast, stable wifi, plenty of hot water for the shower, comfortable bed and sitting area. So many staple items are provided which are not always present at some properties, but very much appreciated: shampoo, body wash, paper towels, tissue, laundry detergent, kitchen supplies (foil, plastic wrap, etc.), not to mention the breakfast noted above. My wife commented that there was nothing that the cottage DIDN'T have.

My wife and I travel quite a bit and we both agree that overall, this is one of the best properties we have ever stayed in. We would certainly return again next time we visit the area. Excellent property and great value for money too. Thanks very much.

Expectations more than met, wonderful place!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week there. Incredible view of Puget Sound and Olympic Peninsula, very clean and comfortable with everything we could need. Loved the access to the beautiful park on the water just a short drive away. Nancy and Tom were very friendly and great hosts in the way they anticipate guests' needs and offer suggestions, but other than a brief hello and chat we hardly saw them. Felt very private and peaceful there in a really nice neighborhood. Very quick and easy to get to/from Seattle if you avoid rush hour. There is a Link line stop 10 minutes away with free parking. Burien is a very nice town with excellent stores. All in all, it was perfect for us and we would highly recommend a stay there. We definitely hope to get back!

This cottage is perfect. The view of the Sound is amazing! Nancy and Tom did not miss a thing!

Everything you need is at your finger tips. It is very warm and welcoming. We had a wonderful breakfast waiting for us to re-heat

It was our first time visiting the Seattle area, which we loved. We wouldn't think of staying any place but this lovely cottage on our return.

Thanks for everything

Fantastic property

  • 5 of 5

I got the chance to stay in this lovely property for several weeks. It is in a great location, with downtown Seattle or Tocoma about 25 minutes away and very convient to see the sites. In a very quite location. But what really shines is the property and the view. The property is the absolute best. Lots of space and a million dollar view out onto the sound. The house has all you need with a well stocked kitche, a nice bath and confrontable bed. Sitting in the living room you have the most fantastic view out onto the sound. I could not have had a better stay and highly recommend it.

Perfect cottage

  • 5 of 5

The view, especially with the garden, is unbelievable. Really close to the airport (but no airport noise) and convenient to Seattle. Coming back from our excursions each evening was so great...peaceful as well as beautiful. The cottage has every little amenity and a comfy bed.
