2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths And Loft Bedroom. On the river with beautiful mountain view

FREE 4th night when you stay 3! IF you can only stay 2 nights get 50% off the 3rd night. Both offers available for January, February and March of 2017.

Ski. Snow mobile.(Easy in & out of circular driveway) Cross country ski or snowshoe, then relax and soothe your soul to the sounds of the river at River Song..... a beautiful retreat on the edge of the Arkansas River.

Come stay awhile in our 3000 square foot home plus 800 feet of upper and lower deck facing the Arkansas River gives everyone access to the river, mountain views and fishing. Maybe try panning for gold.

The river does run through our back yard.

Sip your coffee in the morning on the north end, cocktails on the south and bar-b-que dinner on the lower deck with your fresh catch from the river. 800 square feet of deck lets you lounge in the sun or shade or snooze in the hammock to the gentle sound of the Arkansas.

You will take in the magnificence of Mt. Princeton looking straight down the river from the cocktail deck as you plan tomorrows activities. Or watch the kayakers come by or just enjoy the peace, the quiet and the song the river sings.

Watch the stars come out at night or relax indoors with a Netflix movie, just read or listen to the stereo.

Nature comes indoors through the full length windows that face the river as you are bathed each morning in unbelievable natural light surrounded by nature.

Our favourite restaurant, the Asian Palate, is just a mile and a quarter down the road on Main street in historic down town.Try amazing coffee at BV Roastery .Great pizza at the Eddyline plus home brews & organic fresh ingredients.

The kitchen is fully equipped if you prefer to eat at home, inside or on the deck or sip a glass of wine before going out.

If you fish you’ll enjoy the close proximity to the river below, the “fish pond” just a hundred feet up the river or the hiding places along the river in front of the house.

Bring your bikes and ride the 8 scenic miles along the river going north from the house through the 4 tunnels. You can rent bikes in town if you prefer.

Fifteen minutes takes you to Mt. Princeton hot springs or Cottonwood Lake for a picnic and trout fishing.

Lots of activity to choose from; kayak, raft, climb a mountain, fish, play tennis, golf, rock climb, swim, horse back ride, visit ghost towns,or mountain bike.

Some other things that make life worth living such as romance and a river's song to lull you to sleep.

Come and stay; feed your soul, inspire your heart, enjoy our river.

Now we can share our find with others who love the outdoors, the beauty, peace and tranquility that nature brings.

The best mornings of our life take place over 300 days a year as the sunlight floods the decks, dining and family room rising over the river.

Why Linda Efird/Property Manager chose South Central

One of the most beautiful places you'll ever find. The River's Song will sooth your soul. The mountains will inspire. You will want to live here!

Chaffee county is unique. This IS Colorado. So much history here in BV, once the railhead of 3 major railroads. A short hike takes you to where "The Midland" had its depot and passengers were hauled down the hill into town.

As so many of our guests have written in our gust book, you'll love the peace and serenity of the river after a day of adventure.

What makes this house unique

Space, privacy, peaceful, beautiful, warm, inviting, secluded with all the amenities needed for a fabulous vacation.

Close to rafting Brown's Canyon, jeep trips, hot springs, art galleries, restaurants, a zip line, biking, horse back riding or just sitting on the deck looking to spot a bald eagle. As one couple said, a wonderful way to celebrate 25 years of marriage.

Awesome home - perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Spent 3 nights at this lovely home with another couple. Perfect for day trips all around Colorado and BV is a great little town. House was clean but favorite part was all the balconies - perfect for coffee on the deck and happy hour at the end of the day (and star gazing at night...incredible). Amazing views and overall an excellent stay. Had cocktails at Eddyline, had 1 dinner at Trailhead and it was excellent. With the full kitchen, we at most of our dinners in! Thanks for sharing....Jamie, Bruce, Christy and Tom.

Perfect vacation spot for access to all that BV has to offer!

  • 5 of 5

River Song was a great home for our family, and a great launching point for adventures around Buena Vista and Salida. The space was clean and well-stocked with linens. (If you're a cook though, you might plan to bring your own kitchen utensils - pretty sparse). The views of the river and surrounding rock formations were superb. The owners were responsive and easy to work with. We'll book again!

Home Base

  • 5 of 5

River Song was an excellent home base for our week-long vacation. We enjoyed fishing at Crystal Lake and Cottonwood Lake; visited the art galleries in BV and Salida, spent time at the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs, enjoyed eating at Eddyline restaurant and coffee at the Roatery and even found the grave site of my wife's great, great grandmother near Salida.

Best of Buena Vista

  • 5 of 5

House was excellent and good value. It was very clean, close enough to town to quickly drive in for a coffee in the morning for the wife but far enough away to give you a out of town feel. Big living rooms, great for watching a movie with another couple and not feel crowded. Bed rooms were good, especially the Master down stairs. A real sense of privacy. The absolutely best feature, the outside decks over looking the river. Breakfast out there with the river raging below was absolutely amazing. We will go back again soon.
