About the property

Immaculate 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath Apt. In Popular Queen Anne Close To Downtown

Finding a good place to stay in an unfamiliar city is a challenge. As a fellow world traveler, I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly, and, as a long-time landlord with tenants who remain friends, I've created a place that I would want to stay in if I were in an unfamiliar city.

Safe, quiet, welcoming, tastefully decorated, this is a place not only to put your head at night but to call home while you're here. Enjoy your morning coffee or an evening cocktail in the woodland-like zen garden right outside your window (we do have sunshine sometimes!). Or light a fire at night in the outdoor fire pit in true northwest style.

Even for short stays, the Queen Anne neighborhood can feel like home almost instantly—the corner cafe, a morning yoga class or stunning views of the Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains, all within a few blocks walking distance. In the summer participate in the lively farmer's market where organic food and live music fill every Thursday afternoon. Or, hop on the bus for a short ride to Seattle City Center and the Space Needle, Experience Music Project, Olympic Sculpture Park and more.

This is a newly remodeled 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom spacious apartment in a tidy 4-plex with a private entrance and your own off-street parking space. We provide linens and stock the kitchen with all the cooking basics such as sugar, oil, salt, pepper, basic spices, tea and coffee. For anything else you need, three grocery stores are an easy stroll away.

Features include:

• bedroom with queen bed, closet and dresser

• all linens included

• sleeper sofa in the living room for additional guest

• bathroom with bathtub/shower

• full kitchen, coffee maker

• dining room with table for seating up 10 people

• desk with lamp

• access to laundry room

• tv, cable, netflix and wifi

• patio garden with picnic table and fire pit

• off-street parking spot available

• Bus to downtown sites: 2 minutes

• Trader Joe's: 8 minutes

• Yoga: 2 minutes

• Safeway: 2 minutes

• Coffee: 2 minutes

• Swim center: : 2 minutes

• Banks: 4 minutes

• Pub/Live music: 2 minutes

• Stunning city viewpoint: 13 minutes

As a longtime Seattle resident, I'm happy to help you make the most of your visit to the Northwest. I've hiked and skied many trails, kayaked Lake Union, traversed the Olympic Peninsula, taken ferries to every corner of the Puget Sound, worked the city's tour bus as a guide and even sung jazz in a bar.

Perfect Location!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for two weeks and found it very comfortable, convenient and homey. We loved the garden view and the spacious living area. Our host was warm and welcoming and we enjoyed having restaurants, grocery stores and coffee shops a block away.

We would definitely stay there again if we come back to Seattle.

Very Nice. Roomy, friendly, convenient and comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed three nights here and we were very comfortable. This is located just a blocks width from all the amenities that upper, or hill top, Queen Anne district has to offer. There are many great little bars, several restaurants and coffee shops including a Starbucks three houses down and just around the corner. Yet the property is in a nice neighborhood and was very quiet. Best of both worlds. Ballard (the locks and vibrant night life scene) was maybe a five minute drive away. It is also a 5$ Uber mini to Lower Queen Ann district for the younger crowd. The place is nice and big, clean and has everything anyone would need. Including the addition of a guitar (I was going through withdrawals) that the very gracious host allowed me to borrow while we stayed. Talk about a small world. She attended the same small Central Illinois college that I did at the same time back in 1973. Fortunately she didn't remember ever meeting me back them. While I was playing away in the very cool front yard Zen Garden people walking down the street were clapping. NICE! This property comes with it's own parking spot in back to!! Big plus anywhere in Seattle. It would be hard to find a better place to spend a few nights in this more residential part of town. Don't miss the Farmers Market just a 1/2 block away if you're there on Thursday.

About Janet Dixon

Though I've traveled the world and take long road trips to visit family, my soul is in the Pacific Northwest. I am orginally from the midwest, Illinois, but after experiencing the northwest during our years in Alaska I knew that I would at some point become a resident of Seattle. That opportunity presented itself in 1990. I purchased a house on Vashon Island which is a short ferry ride from West Seattle. It was the best move I ever made.

The house was on the water and I turned it into a bed and breakfast. That was my first experience providing travelers with accommodations and all these years later I am trying it again.

As a profession I have managed non-profits and since retirement I have done a variety of interesting things to fill my life. This is one of them.

Why Janet Dixon chose Queen Anne

I choose this particular property because of it proximity to all that is Seattle. It is a hop skip and a jump from Seattle Center and downtown. It has a wonderful commercial area one block away as well as offering a very neighborhood feeling.

What makes this apartment unique

I purchased this property in 1996 because of it location and thought that future renters would find the amenities offered in the neighbor desirable and I was right. I have had no problems renting my spaces over all those years but now I am ready to try something a little different. I am looking forward to this being as much a success.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Car: not necessary

A bit of little know information is that Seattle was build on seven hills. Queen Anne is one of those hills and it is the closest residential area to Seattle Center and the City Center which includes the famous Pike Place Market.

Queen Anne is a historic neighborhood studded with cute cottages and gardens, flanked by stunning views of the Olympic Mountains and filled with specialty shops, international cuisine, access to yoga classes, great coffee shops and the beauty of it all is they are only one block away. Within .5 of a mile you are able to see Puget Sound from the famous Highland Drive overhang where the entire skyline of the city can be seen with the majestic Mt. Rainer in the background.

From Queen Ann you have access by car to funky Freemont and Ballard neighborhoods as well as Greenwood and Green Lake. On the east side of the hill is Lake Union where you can rent kayaks and explore the floating homes (remember Sleepless in Seattle), stop and have lunch at the lake side restaurants or even hop on a sea plane and have an aerial view of the the surrounding area.

Seattle Center is not just the Space Needle although it is a must see. You can go to the opera, ballet, the Pacific Science Center, the butterfly exhibit, the children's museum, live theater at the Rep, catch the monorail to downtown and have a wonderful time at the EMP (Experience Music Project). You will be awed by Frank Gerhy's architectural design of the building and by it's exhibits which are dedicated to the exploration of popular music,(Nirvana), science fiction and pop culture.
