About Melissa Nemer

Having both moved here 15 years ago from different cities - Philadelphia and Minneapolis - we quickly fell in love with San Francisco. Now, we and our two children couldn't imagine living anywhere else and love the vibrancy, the people and the beauty of San Francisco. Over the years, our love for travel has led us to many homes found through VRBO and we are so excited to now have an opportunity to welcome others. We truly understand what makes a vacation home one which is comfortable, easy, safe and fun. We hope to host you sometime soon!

Melissa Nemer purchased this apartment in 2013

Why Melissa Nemer chose Glen Park

We spent years looking for the perfect blend of a home located on a quiet, beautiful street, but which is immediately accessible to a variety of neighborhoods, restaurants, services, parks, shops and transportation. We're thrilled to have found it. We also love that our neighborhood has some of the best weather in an often foggy city. We're situated between Noe Valley and Glen Park, both of which we frequent daily in our everyday lives. We love how easy it is to utilize our public transit system and how quickly we can walk to so many locals favorites around us.

What makes this apartment unique

We live in the house above the apartment and we are happy to help make your stay more enjoyable if needed or wanted in any way.

Very dirty, excessive MOLD, musty smell throughout the apartment. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

  • 1 of 5

I wish I could give a good review because the owner Melissa was very friendly and helpful with the reservation process, etc... Unfortunately, the condition of the property is horrible. Right when we opened the door we could smell the must and the mold. At first glance the apartment looks nice when you walk in because it is furnished nicely. A quick look around though and you realize the place is extremely dirty. I am very allergic to mold and knew that there was quite a bit of it in the apartment because I immediately reacted to being there. It did not take long to find it. The bathroom shower, sink, and window all had mold. The window was covered in it! The walls were dirty and stained including behind the kitchen sink. The floors were disgusting! Our socks were brown after walking around for only a little while. The edges of the floors are caked with dirt and grime. There is mold around the back door (on the inside of the apartment). I could not even use the kitchen towels because they smelled so musty. We wanted to leave and cancel our stay immediately. Unfortunately our circumstances did not allow that. My daughter has a rare medical disorder and she has special medical food that requires we have access to a freezer, stove, etc... We have to bring A LOT of stuff with us. Even if we could have found a new place that suited our needs on such short notice (which is not a guarantee), finding a place and moving to it would have taken a day or more of our 4 day vacation. Therefore, we decided to stay. The mold made me sick so I spent the four days not feeling well. We refused to shower in the moldy bathroom because the steam would have made things even worse so we spent 4 days taking sponge baths using a towel to stand on in the kitchen area. I do a lot of research before booking due to my daughter's medical condition and my allergies. I am shocked that no one has stated the condition of the apartment in the reviews. I took several pictures to show that what I am saying is factual. It was terrible. I wish someone else would have said what I am saying so that we did not end up in the situation we did. :(

A very pleasant place to stay

  • 4 of 5

I was in town for a family event. This apartment was very quiet and comfortable and well equipped. The walk to the nearest BART Station (Glen Park) was about 10 minutes. You could also easily walk down the hill and end up at the J streetcar stop or on Mission Street, where there is considerable commerce and good bus service into downtown.

Cozy little place perfect for exploring the city. Thanks for the gifts 😊

Beautifully clean place stocked with everything you need. We could have stayed longer but alas only 3 nights for us. Melissa and Josh left heaps of information about the area with restaurant recommendations (2 of which we visited and loved) also all the facilities if you want to cook yourself (which we also did). Very responsive and a bottle of wine and chocolates on arrival was such a treat. Thanks so much we very much enjoyed our stay.

Super place to stay while in San Francisco

  • 5 of 5

The owners Melissa and Josh went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Even received a bottle of wine from the local area. The apartment was nice and cozy, spotless, and fully furnished for what our needs were. Neighborhood was very quiet so you could get a good night's rest. Local transportation was just a 10 minute walk away. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the bay area. Kudos to the owners for a lovely stay. The Waldmyer Family

This is the place to stay in San Fran! A GEM!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we walked in to this charming, spacious and amenity filled apartment we knew we found the perfect place to stay in San Fran. From the super comfortable beds (one in the bedroom and a murphy bed in the living room) to the full sized kitchen and big, comfy bedroom to the relaxing living room, large bathroom with a washer/dryer and a beautiful backyard, this apartment has everything! And then some! It's in a beautiful neighborhood with great restaurants, grocery stores and amazing coffee places... perfect for getting away from the touristy downtown. Super close to all modes of public transportation. The owners are lovely and super responsive. Plus, they greeted us with local chocolates and a bottle of wine. This apartment was such a wonderful find..we didn't want to leave!

Very clean, comfortable and welcoming!

  • 5 of 5

Even though we were not there most of the time because of sightseeing, we felt safe, slept well and enjoyed the many emnities that were provided. The only thing I would suggest is a small fan that could be used at night to move the air around. Otherwise, when we return to SF again this will be the first place we check for availability.
