We loved this condo! The location was spectacular, we were right next to the gulf and pool and the blue mountain area is not as crowded as other places on 30A. We enjoyed daily bike rides around the area, walks on the beach and lot of laughter with friends and family.
Beautiful, quiet beach vacation
We stayed in this unit last fall and loved it. It was clean and comfortable. We loved the access to the pool, hot tub and beach stairs. Beautiful, quiet beach. The only reason I did not give it an Excellent rating is because the unit lacks a bit in media technology. It could use updating with new TVs, Blue Ray players, etc. in every room. Regardless, we hope to be back!!
We'll Be Back!
Stayed in this lovely condo with family, including 3 grandchildren for a week in June. One of our best vacations ever! We have stayed at Blue Lupine several times, and must say, this is our favorite unit so far! The location is one of the best features.... Walk through the patio gate and you are at the pool.....and then not much further to the boardwalk leading to one of the most beautiful beaches and oceans in all of God's creation! Having such a short distance to carry tons of beach toys for the kids, along with coolers, etc. to the beach is a real plus! The condo was very clean with plenty of room for all to enjoy. There is a nice sized pantry in the kitchen for food/snacks brought from home. Also, the separate ice maker was awesome! We really enjoyed the patio at night after the pool closed and "quiet time" began at 10:00 p.m. Nice time to sit around and have great conversation. People abide by the quiet time rule really well, which makes Blue Lupine a very family friendly place. Speaking of friendly..... Everyone we met WAS!
There are so many great places to eat in the area. GoatFeathers is one of our favorites. We love to call in an order before 4:00 (cheaper lunch menu) and pick it up to eat in the condo whenever we get hungry.... Lots easier, especially with kids who do not want to come off the beach or get out of the inviting pool too early. We also love Marie's Bistro. This is a family-owned restaurant. Very casual. The owners really take pride in treating their customers well. My husband & I have made it a tradition to go there on our first day before check-in to enjoy happy hour outside on the porch with appetizers & one or more of the specials of the day. Delicious food.... Friendly service! There are so many great eateries to choose from. Be sure to go to the Red Bar if possible.... Quite an experience!
Two of our favorite places to shop are Lily Pads towards Seaside and Retail Therapy on Hwy. 98 towards Destin.
We are already looking forward to coming back to this condo next summer! Did I mention that the management company was great to work with? Jeff was always at my beacon call......Very friendly, helpful, and easy to reach with any questions! I printed out approximately 300 pictures of this trip a couple of weeks ago.... Now to put them in the large photo album that awaits on my dining room table!
great family vacation
Blue mountain is a great location - easy to get to Destin and PCB as needed. Finding things to do, places to eat, is not issue at all given the location. We rented bikes and getting to Water Color, Seaside, etc was easy and safe. We used Big Daddy's and it was so convenient. There are some great views on the lakes that make the trip worth it. Dockside Watersports took us parasailing - they were great.
The pictures tell the story for the condo - it's a great unit and we really enjoyed it. It is a great location in the building because the pool is right off the patio, and the walkway down to the beach is just a few steps away. We could walk right off the patio instead of having to go down the hallway to the elevator. We really enjoyed the fact we were so close and on the first floor. The building has quite hours, so the evenings on the pool deck were really nice. The grill is on the other end of the building from the unit, and it worked well. Also, it was great having an icemaker in the unit - nice touch! There is only one car per unit allowed in the parking deck, other cars must use an external lot that is somewhat of a walk (200m from building entrance). We recommend renting the chairs and umbrella, because you cannot leave anything on the beach overnight.
We enjoyed the Irish pub Johhny McTighe's down the street, and the Taco bar in Seaside was pricey but really good. Bayou Bill's is great. Fat Daddy's was a pleasant surprise - it was really good pizza. For ice cream, Dalton's is just as good as Blue Mountain creamery, and both are about the same as Kilwin's in Destin.
Given the calibre of the establishment, we rated 4 stars because there were a few issues we had to deal with (several lights were out and needed bulbs, incorrect gate codes, running toilet, and we could not get the TV to work in the master bedroom). We received timely responses and the issues were resolved in a timely manner, however, they still represented things we had to handle. Otherwise, we would rate 5 stars.
Went down for a wedding with my family and this was a place that we will be going back to. The condo is just steps away from the pool deck and only a few more steps to the beach. The beach is very low key and private. We were able to rent chairs for the amount of days we were there. The condo was very clean and decorated very nicely. Appliances are up to date and there is a large balcony to enjoy as well. Overall this condo is ideal for large families and those seeking a quiet getaway.
Beautiful property...great location!
We stayed in this unit over Spring Break and could not have had a better experience! What more can you ask for than being (literally) a few steps from the pool and about 50 feet from the steps to the beach? It is getting increasingly difficult to find a large beachfront condo that is as well appointed as this unit without breaking the bank. The location is amazing! It is close to Grayton Beach and just about mid-way between Seaside and Rosemary. You are close to everything but not too close if you prefer a little peace and quiet on the beach. Even during Spring Break we were not inundated with peolpe but we were close enough that our teen kids could walk down the beach to larger developments. If you like restaurants there are plenty within a few minutes drive.
The condo itself is beautiful and well decorated. The master bedroom and bath are extra large as are both additional rooms. The second room has its own bath as well. The unit is well equipped with pots, pans, cookware and all as well as great new looking appliances.
The pool area, again within two steps off the back patio, is quite nice. There is a great elevated deck area with tables, chairs and umbrellas that was our favorite spot in the evening as the sun went down. VERY relaxing way to end the day or start the evening.
The management was great but kindof hard to rate that as we had no issues during our stay. The check-in/out process was easy and the manager saw us on the pool deck one day and asked if we were settling in OK and to let him know if we needed anything.
All in all this is a great unit to rent and we will be back!
