Vacations are about choice, and if you choose quiet comfort, a beautiful ocean front setting with an expansive soft sand beach meeting gentle warm waters look no farther. You come to Hawaii to enjoy the beaches, stay on an excellent one, Sugar Beach. Separated from the crowded city-front beaches our beach offers many miles of soft sand for children to play on, walkers to walk or jog on and strollers to stroll on. Our property enjoys beach front Barbecues with tables and chairs for day and evening enjoyment; nature provides glorious sunset dinners as everyone looks for the 'green flash.' Warm days invite you to choose between reading or napping under the palm trees and umbrellas, taking a dip in the warm ocean or heated pool or walking over to the farmer's market to select fresh island foods. The shave-ice store is also a favorite, this is not your father's snow cone.

Low Season Rate $135/night: April 16 - December 14 + Hawaii tax

High Season Rate $180/night: December 15 - April 15 + Hawaii tax

Our fully remodeled fifth-floor suite enhances your stay with whisper quiet central air conditioning (yes, in the bedroom too), comfortable living room with two leather recliners, a 37'' flat screen with full HDTV reception with Blue Ray DVD, a fully equipped granite counter kitchen, a sleep inducing King bed, two step-in tile shower baths (yes, two bath rooms) and a unique dual-pane Lanai slider if you choose to block out the sound of rolling waves. Add ocean and mountain views to your morning coffee, spot whales in season, enjoy a quiet sun-set; all from your private Lanai. If all this sounds enjoyable you will be pleased to discover more. Beach towels, chairs and coolers provided, 32'' full HDTV reception in the bedroom, secure key-less entry with your pre-selected private entry code (all guest codes are removed when guests leave), laundry facilities just steps away, manicured grounds, free parking, free cleaning, free wireless internet and a central island location for activities such as golfing, fine dining, scuba and snorkeling, visits to Lahaina, Kaanapali, Iao Valley, Wailea, Paia, Hana, Haleakaia and more. We are most comfortable for two in King bed comfort; honeymooners, retired couples and all those seeking quiet.

About Donald

My wife, Linda, and I have traveled the world, and continue to do so, the photo was taken near the entrance to Monet Gardens in France, just outside of Paris. We discovered our Maui Sugar Beach location on one of our travels and fell in love with the unique property, purchasing our unit sight unseen by internet & mail once we returned home. We continue to upgrade our island home and our efforts have resulted in a 'Deluxe' rating and one of the highest booking calendars of the Nani Kai Hale! We know Maui!

Why Donald chose Kihei

After attending several 'wine & cheese' time share presentations for properties that were 'near the beach' we discovered our 'right on the beach' property with permanent owners and fell in love with the warm sharing and gatherings that occur daily around the beachfront barbeque area. With six miles of soft sand beach to stroll along with lawn & fresh water pool there is much to enjoy! The 'Nani' experience is truely unique.

What makes this condo unique

With only 46 units our property enjoys a special 'bonding' of guests & owners alike, some guests have been returning for 20 to 30 years because they feel 'at home' when they gather around the lawn and barbeque area for the many spontaneous sharings of food and stories daily. The protected cove provides a safe water and beach environment that is a magnet for children of all ages, our central Maui location is the perfect jumping off spot!

Quiet relaxation in abundance starts in our air-conditioned accommodations and extends to our relaxing lawn and gentle beach. There is a 'Farmer's Market' within walking distance, but you are away from the hustle and bustle of the busy downtown. Take a long walk on quiet Sugar Beach, swim in the heated pool, or take a nap in a chaise lounge on the lawn. Gas grills, tables and chairs ocean front, palm trees and umbrellas shade you from the sun. The gentle beach leads you into warm (normally 80F) water on most days.

Well equipped, convenient home away from home

Location: Kihei, right in the "crotch" of Maui, is low-key and accessible to everything: beaches, restaurants, the road to Haleakala, shopping. Apartment: best-equipped VRBO ever. Lots of dishes, towels, cooking utensils - but also plastic wrap, notepad and pens, drying rack, coolers in two sizes, and condiments in the fridge. It encourages sharing. (So, if you use the Tide HE laundry detergent, you're welcome! And thanks, in turn, for the tin foil.) The first night we found the traffic noise loud but once you're used to it, you hear the ocean more. The beach out front is perfect for swimming and running and just hanging out. We liked the feel of the Nani Ki Hale building overall - this is NOT the place where you have to run out first thing in the morning and reserve a beach chair. Bed is comfortable, parking is easy, quiet hours are quiet, and there's a landline in the apartment. Donald is an attentive host. Mahalo for an excellent stay.

Yes, we have a central location, offer a "like home" setting right down to the furnishings (Lazy-Boy recliners) and condiments, plus plenty of storage for all of that out of your suitcase. Those sensitive to outdoor sounds at anytime can utilize the air-conditioning found throughout and closing either the dual-pane slider or the bedroom window. The property was everything as advertised. A great central location for exploring the rest of the island. Donald the owner was fantastic. He actually phoned us just after our arrival to make sure we had everything we needed. He was very helpful in suggesting sights to see and places to eat.The condo is right on Sugar beach and was visited by two Manta Rays about ten feet off the shore one morning. The condo is very well equipped with almost everything you need and we will return here in the future.

Enjoyed the property for the 4 weeks we were there. Condo was cozy and comfortable.

The outside of the property is dated but the condo itself is updated and very comfortable with all amenities provided by the owner who really cares and checks on you periodically (without being obtrusive) to make sure everything is okay. The condo is in north Kihei so is centrally located to most of Maui and is more laid back than the busier central and south Kihei. There is a very nice lawn right next to the beach for lounging on without getting sand all over and the grill area was very convenient and clean as well as the gathering place for sunset drinks with the other guests and owners. The beach is really nice with soft sand without lava or rocks and the beach is the longest on Maui for nice walks. The unit also has 2 full bathrooms so you can have “his and her” bathrooms. The king bed is very comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. Overall our experience was very good and would stay there again. The people we met on property were very welcoming, friendly and helpful in recommending things to do or see. The owner also provides a book with a rundown on things to do, sights and activities and restaurants which is very helpful. Overall a great experience for my wife and I.

Owner's Response: Aloha and Mahalo Jeffrey for your great review, yes the property exterior is in need of a refreshing, and that is exactly what is on schedule for this year; a new paint job and some new windows along with parking lot resurfacing; the sun and salt air take their toll on surfaces so this is a constant effort. Yes, relaxing on the quiet lawn while reading, napping, sharing with other guests, whale watching in season, or just soaking up the sun to make everyone at home jealous of your tan when you return home. Guests can cool off with a swim in our heated ocean front pool, a swim in the ocean at the foot of the lawn, or a cool refresher under the beach front showers. We do our part by keeping our interior up-to-date, clean and fully stocked with amenities, as you noticed. We like to think of it as living with home comforts while on vacation. Mahalo, come again soon.

Perfection Close to everything . Well appointed and full of local art.

Donald and Linda’s condo is ideal . You are centrally located to all points. The road noise might bother some but it is much quieter than the one we live by. Comfortable and well stocked with basic needs.

A Shangrila Away from Home

This is our 2nd stay at this wonderful property. First stay was one week, came back for two weeks this year! Great location, great beach, and on top of that an immaculate, very nicely appointed unit. The owners have made sure that guests will be very comfortable and well informed about all the amenities available to them plus a wonderful written guide on suggested local restaurants and activities with personal notations (much appreciated).

We love the location and unit so much that we are already discussing plans to come back next year.

Perfect Location! Fully Stocked!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Nani Kai Hale! It was in the perfect location in the middle of Maui. Kihei is a wonderful little town with lots of amazing restaraunts, shops and beaches. This condo is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. Donald is an excellent host and called us multiple times to make sure everything was going well. Sugar beach isnt't the best for swimming or snorkeling but it was amazing to walk down the beach in the morning with coffee or sit out and watch the sunset. There are tons of amazing beaches close by for snorkeling. Another amzing thing about this condo... Uluani's Shave Ice!! Just a short walk down the beach to our new favorite treat! You have to try it and add the Snow-Cap!! Super yummy :) We also loved how quiet and low-key the area around the condo was. The beach was never crowded and we never had to search for parking. Perfect vacation! We hope to visit again sometime in the future.
