The sliders of the pool house open onto another 40 foot long deck overlooking the heated in-ground pool. The Boat House is a classic diamond windowed playroom with storage for kayaks/fishing poles and bikes located down a white shell path along the shoreline of the heart shaped lily pond. Feel free to take our 5 kayaks to the creek or the beach. The lush landscaping was designed in the 1880s by the world renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead and features an enormous fenced backyard, sun-drenched swimming pool, multiple outdoor dining and lounging areas compliment the open and airy feel of this private compound. A one of a kind, breathtakingly beautiful vacation home to create lifetime memories of carefree entertaining and easy living completely removed (yet right in the middle of) the Cape Cod vacation scene. Centerville sits on a peninsula overlooking Nantucket Sound and was once home to wealthy ship captains who built estate homes in the early 1800's. Located between historic Hyannisport and quaint Osterville with great boutiques, classic Cape Cod restaurants and terrific gourmet food shops like Fancy's and Lambert's.

About Stephen Corridan

We fell in love with this property the minute we drove through the old stone pillars. Our lives are all about family and friends and enjoying time together and this magical property has a way of making all those memories just that much more special. Our family has been spending summers at the Cape for many years, our kids grew up here during the summer and we look hope you will enjoy this special property as much as our family does!

Stephen Corridan purchased this estate in 2012

Why Stephen Corridan chose Cape Cod

The FernBrook property is unique in its history with the heart shaped gardens and lily pond having been designed in the late 1800's by Frederick Law Olmstead, the landscape architect who also designed Central Park. We love the combination of serenity, specimen plantings, privacy and endless activities for the kids. If the beach is too windy or cold the kids love coming home and jumping in the heated pool, or sitting by the lily pond with a cold drink and a good book.

What makes this estate unique

Every day the view changes over the lily pond - and while the house is centrally located it remains extremely private with a front and rear entrance off of two different streets. Having the 2 bedroom Guest Cottage is a nice advantage if two families are staying or if the kids want to invite friends for a sleepover.

Beautiful, quiet property with huge yard and heated pool

  • 5 of 5

Nice, large house with multiple living/dining/common areas. Older home that's been remodeled in stages so some parts are newer and nicer than others, but in good shape overall.

3 bedrooms in the main house, each with their own private bathroom (all upstairs). Guest/pool house with 2 additional bedrooms, bathroom, and living room.

Huge, beautiful lawn (size of a football field!), nice large decks that are well furnished, new BBQ and best of all a heated pool.

Located in a quiet area on a very private lot. A car is required to go basically anywhere.

Owner was very responsive and easy to work with. It's their vacation home that they rent part of the year and they're selective about their tenants to keep the place in good shape. Overall, great experience!

Idyllic wonderful family vacation

  • 5 of 5

This Cape Cod house is truly special. My family and I have vacationed every year at Cape Cod at my in-laws house and this year decided to splurge on a rental and invite my own extended family to join. I carefully selected this property and had high expectations and all of my expectations were met / exceeded. The property is beautiful and romantic and yet extremely family friendly.

Pros:

Tons of space to spread out inside, lots of games (old school pacman, foosball, ping pong), big kitchen, 2 family rooms, lots of eating/seating space

Beautiful outside area with a fantastic heated pool, big family sized outdoor eating area and a great lily pond where my son loved hunting for frogs for 9 straight days

Very well appointed -- all the bed lines were comfortable and soft, the kitchen had everything for cooking which we did a ton of

Very well managed -- house manager took care of everything and was very responsive.

Great location -- Country store, Four Seas Ice Cream, playground all within walking distance. Beach very close by.

Only Con: the pool is not fully fenced/gated so we had one little one (20 months) who we had to watch very carefully. It ended up being fine, we just had to be vigilant.

The most fabulous home in quaint Centerville

  • 5 of 5

Eight "old" college friends have gathered here for the past two years for our annual reunion. We have been friends for over 50 years and have stayed at a lot of resorts, rentals, hotels and this is , by far, the loveliest of them all. It has everything you would want - extremely well equipped kitchen, fabulous amenities and it offers a great heated pool, game room, multi outdoor and indoor gathering spaces, a guest house for larger groups and SO much more. The grounds are meticulously maintained and the setting is peaceful - a "healing oasis." It is extremely private and yet a short walk/drive to the beach and to wonderful Cape restaurants. Owner, Steve, and manager, Michelle, are easily available and respond promptly to any questions. We are thankful for the opportunity to enjoy this incredible property.

Fantastic home in a great area of Cape Cod.

  • 5 of 5

Nine adults stayed here for Memorial Day weekend. We had a great time enjoying all of the amenities that the property offers. The listing description is accurate although the space seemed to be larger than the photos represent. The house was ready for us when we arrived, clean and well maintained. The pool was heated, ready to use and the weather cooperated, so much of our time was spent relaxing on the decks and swimming. The common areas in the house are comfortably furnished with ample space for us to congregate while eating or watching TV. I don't think I've ever rented a house more fully equipped. We found the neighborhood to be very walkable and ventured out to the ice cream stand, the general store, the church and Craigville beach. The owner, Steve, was very accommodating and the property manager, Michele, was always available and very helpful. We already miss the frogs, baby geese, chirping birds and the church bells. If quaint New England charm is what you're looking for then this is the place for you. Highly recommended.

A Wonderful Vacation Home!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay at this wonderful property. Not only was the house great and extremely well-equipped, it was very spacious and comfortable. Between the pool, kayaks and the games and books, we were never at a loss for things to do. And if, like our group, you enjoy cooking you will find everything you need in the kitchen. It's much better kitted out than any vacation home I've ever rented before- and I haven't even mentioned the clean and easy to use grill! We really had a wonderful visit. Our only issue were the problems with the AC, but the owner did try to send someone around to fix it. It never did work during our stay, but we had such fun anyway. And, as the owner is so responsive, I'm sure it will be in ship shape again soon. in short, the house is great, the neighbors and neigborhood is great and everything you need is within a 10/15 minute drive. It's a really great place to spend a fun, relaxing vacation.

Owner's Response: I am so glad you enjoyed the house and property. You are of course correct the A/C is fixed. It's a brand new system installed less than six months ago and it had an electronic component failure. I am glad that didn't prevent you from enjoying all the property has to offer. Please come back for another visit. Best Steve and Ann
