My husband and I were married in Gatlinburg (1995). We were taken with the town, mountains and nature immediately, and we’ve returned countless times since then. It seems the addiction only gets worse as the years pass. We began our cabin search about 7 years ago. It wasn't until the last 2 years that we were determined to take the leap, and until last year that we placed a deadline on ourselves ~ we would purchase a cabin by the end of the year, even if it wasn't the 'perfect one.' I should mention that, in the years since we were married, almost every time we traveled to Gatlinburg we tried to find the cabin we stayed in back in 1995. We had a few landmarks that we remembered near the cabin , we found them, but simply could not find the cabin. Now, back to our cabin search. We must have made 6 trips to Gatlinburg last year looking at cabins. Early last year we signed a contract on a cabin. That turned into a bidding war...so we continued the search. It just wasn't meant to be. I had my eye on a few cabins, and a few of them I could never get in to see. One, in particular, I had missed on 2 of my visits. The following trip my Realtor called on the day I was leaving. She said she had one that I'd wanted to look at for a while, but I'd have to stay a bit longer if I wanted to see it. I met with my Realtor and, from the minute I stepped in the cabin, I knew it was the one. This was the cabin we'd stayed in when we were married back in 1995... the one we'd looked for so many times!! I remember calling my husband and telling him that this was the one. He couldn't be convinced. Finally, I dug through our old photos. Our wedding album was the last album beneath all the others. It was the picture of me standing in front of Grandview, with the street number of the house in the background, that finally convinced him this WAS the one. The look on his face that moment ~ PRICELESS!! The rest ~ is history.....
Lynn purchased this Chalet in 2013
Why Lynn chose Chalet Village
It offered something money couldn't buy, and no other cabin could offer ~ our history. As well as views, views, views, convenience to town, easy access and a great location.
What makes this Chalet unique
Location, Views, convenience to town & wildlife; Mountain, City & tram views, as well as a direct view of The Space Needle; Grandview is located just 1 mile from downtown Gatlinburg, in Chalet Village, one of the most well known, highly sought after spots in Gatlinburg. It is rich in history, the path to Ober Gatlinburg, the trail of the tram, and it boasts amazing views. It is surrounded on 3 sides by the Smoky Mountain National Forest, which adds to the abundant wildlife in the area.

I first time renting thru VRBO. I can say it was a great experience! This was a great rental beautifully decorated. Great communication with the owners! I will be back soon
We had a wonderful time at the cabin. We had two bear sightings on the cabin property. The cabin was very clean and well stocked. The hot tub was an added bonus as well. We highly recommend this cabin to future visitors.
Far away yet close
We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is great as it is not right next to another one and far enough from the city you do not get the noise. However, the drive into Gatlinburg is quick and easy. One thing that we really enjoyed was being able to see the lights of Gatlinburg at night. The cabin is well maintained and comes with every you need to get your trip started.
Lynn was fantastic in keeping in touch and was readily availble for any questions. She even sent a text message of a road closure. In all the years we have rented, I have never had anyone do that for us. I really appreciated it. We had zero issues and were really happy with our stay. The only downside was we didnt see any bears, but thwre is always next time.
Perfect view from the hot tub. Lynn was a great host!
Really enjoyed our time at Grandview. We stayed Dec. 28th to Jan. 1st. Lyn was very nice and provided a lot of information about the area, things to do, places to eat and gave us updates on road closures due to the weather. We brought in the New Year watching the ball drop and the fireworks at the Space Needle while sitting in the hot tub. House was far enough from town to feel secluded but close enough to be downtown in a matter of minutes. Would definitely recommend this Cabin and the host!! The Johnsons, Kelms and Oberkramers
Love this rental Amazing!
Ok first this rental was awesome the views were amazing super clean Lynn was always on top of any questions or concerns we had I will definitely come back and recommend this rental to several friends Gatlinburg Tennessee was all around amazing.
Beautiful view of the mountains and downtown Gatlinburg!!!
This cabin has a beautiful view of the mountains and downtown Gatlinburg!!! Very clean, has everything you need to cook with. This is our second time to stay at this cabin. We got to see a bear in the tree out from the cabin. Loved watching the Ober Gatlinburg trams go by especially at night when they had the lights on.
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park offers tours, sightseeing, trails, waterfalls, hikes, caves, wildlife, nature, historic mills and cabins as well as stunning mountain views. Visit Cades Cove for a day of nature, or enjoy trout fishing and a stroll down the river. Head to Ober Gatlinburg for a day of ice skating, skiing, tubing, or sledding ~ don't forget to check out the bears!
If shopping and fine dining are what you prefer, we've got you covered. Gatlinburg has some of the best local dining to be found! If price is no issue, definitely try The Peddler, with seating over the mountain brook and 5 star reviews you can't go wrong. Remember to make reservations ahead, you'll definitely need them. While window shopping downtown, grab a sausage dog ~ a must have on every visit for our family ... simply DELISH!! Sweet tooth? Grab a small amount of fudge .. if you're like us, you'll overload, and shortly after the sugar rush you'll realize you could never finish the 5 lbs you just purchased...trust me on this one. The Thistle is one of my favorite town stores, but you'll find shopping choices are abundant, ranging anywhere from nostalgic collectors items, to cabin décor, woodwork, pottery, quilts and dog/pet clothing. Cowboy boot fan? You're are in for a real treat, with a store full of every type/style imaginable, walls and walls of boots ~ sheer heaven!
Take a ride on the tram. The views of the mountains from the tram are simply unforgettable. You'll also enjoy the stories behind a lot of the cabins on these mountains, as you ride. Who knew Gatlinburg had famous and notorious people living on these hills? It's a beautiful and FUN filled ride, and it's easy on the wallet. Be sure to grab a coupon book while you're in town. There are stands galore, that are packed with FREE coupon books that offer discounts to nearly every attraction, eatery and store around, including the tram ride.
If exhibits and specialty type entertainment are what you are looking for try Ripley's Aquarium, it's pretty unique. There's also a Hollywood Cars Museum, Cooter's~for the Dukes of hazard fan, and a 3D movie theatre.
If you want to enjoy a relaxing day at one of our three clubhouses you'll have lots of choices for things to do. The clubhouses & amenities are available to Chalet Village owners and their guests, seasonally. Each of the clubhouses offer different amenities; swimming, tennis, pool tables, ping pong, horseshoes, shuffle board, croquet, gym equipment and a lot more. You'll also have wifi access, changing rooms and showers. And for the kid in you, yes, there's even a big jungle gym to play on! It's kid friendly, so there should be no scraped elbows and knees - for the average tunnel dweller, that is :-)
Now, if you want to see some of the most amazing dinner (and other) shows on earth, Pigeon Forge is the place you'll want to head. It's just a hop, skip and jump up the road, about 7 miles, but take your time and leave early. During the busy seasons leave at least an hour early. The shows are worth it, and are great family entertainment. My recommendations: Dixie Stampede - delicious food, fun packed interactive show, fabulous costumes, hysterical comedy and beautiful horses to pet on the way in to the show. If you have the opportunity to see the Christmas show~OH MY!! Absolutely unbelievable! A once in a life time, inspirational show... I cannot even put into words how moved you will be by the magical moments in this show. Another awesome show is the Smoky Mountain Opry, for adults and children, again... fantastic show, but this isn't a dinner show, it's strictly entertainment. Finally, Hatfield s & McCoys Dinner show. This one was great. Be sure to encourage the kiddies to head on up to the stage when they ask for volunteers ~ PRICELESS! My husband and I enjoyed the show at least as much as the kids... best laugh (at the kids) we've had in a longggg time!
There a so many fun and free things to do in the area, you'll never get to them all. These are just some of my favorites. Remember to search online for discounts ahead of time, and grab some of the free brochures & discount books that are found all over town.
