Bass Lake with its warm water temperature of 72 to 80 degrees in the summer offers the perfect place for swimming, water skiing, jet skiing, kayaking, boating and more. Great hiking trails, stream fly fishing and more is available here in our little paradise.

Bass Lake is located 20 minutes away from Yosemite National Park, where you will find activities for all age groups. Yosemite is best known for its towering granite cliffs and water falls. Yosemite offers year round

enjoyment. Winter when the snow blankets the valley floor and surrounding cliffs, there is ice skating in the valley, and skiing, snowboarding, snowshoe walks and sledding at Badger Pass. Spring thaw creates unique

conditions such as the 'frazil ice' and the thundering waterfalls, summer brings out the nice warm sunny days and a great opportunity for hiking and the chance of seeing the different animals. Fall is beautiful as the leaves take on vivid hues.

One of the largest trees in the world, the Bull Buck giant sequoia is located in Nelder Grove, approximately 10 miles above Oakhurst off Road 632, Sky Ranch Rd.

Nelder Grove is a 1540 acre tract in the Sierra National Forest with 106 mature giant sequoias intermingled with pine, fir and cedar trees. A one-mile, self guided trail through the majestic sequoias is the Shadow of the Giants National Recreation trail.

The Sierra Scenic Byway is a 100 mile drive through some of the most beautiful scenery imaginable. The byway winds its way through the Sierra Nevada from a little over 2000 feet elevation to over 7000.

There is also the Yosemite Sugar Pine railroad located approximately 8 to 10 miles north of Oakhurst on Hwy 41, where you can step back in time and take a enjoyable ride through the forest on an authentic steam engine train.
