About Michael & Leanne Wood

I am a retired Air Canada Captain, my wife is a retired piano teacher, we LOVE living in Nanaimo with its slower pace, access to beautiful trails, beaches, and, of course, the spectacular views that are soo good for the soul!

Michael & Leanne Wood purchased this house in 2006

Why Michael & Leanne Wood chose Vancouver Island

Our property is part of a very private, 3 home parcel of land on about 2.5 acres, surrounded by acres of forest, with some of the nicest views available, all really good reasons to buy! We are also only 5 - 6 minutes from major shopping including Costco, Home Depot, Canadian Tire, etc.

What makes this house unique

The best part of our property is the space between us and our neighbors, which is possible with 2.5 acres shared with only 3 other homes; we enjoy the privacy and the unobstructed views.

"On Top of the World"

  • 5 of 5

Sitting on top of the world was the only way to describe this lovely property. Not only were the views, including glorious sunsets spectacular, the property was warm, inviting, and always a comfortable respite after a busy day. There were parks and pubs nearby which only added to the enjoyment of our visit. Our hosts made life easy with clear instructions and answers to our questions. A return visit is a must.

The View.....!!!

  • 5 of 5

The mountains had an hypnotic effect on us flatlanders....not that we stared at them all day.........they were always there waiting to be appreciated.

Our hosts, Michael & Leanne, were available for any problem or question that arose. We felt very comfortable in & around our well furnished stay. By the end of our stay I was able to bike up Malaspina & Laguna Way........ not bad for a flatlander. We had a Great stay!!

A fabulous place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Quiet, beautiful, well-appointed. Close to several parks.

It is up a big, steep hill so my bike gathered a lot of dust.

Cozy little place with an amazing view!!!

  • 5 of 5

This place is even more beautiful in reality and It's very comfortable and well appointed. If you like nature and hiking you will truly enjoy this location. There are many hiking trails in the area and the house is surrounded by lush landscaping, forest and even deers and hummingbirds. It is exactly what we needed and feel really privileged to have discovered this incredible place that offers breathtaking views from all windows. One thing is for sure... you won't be disappointed!!!

Sincerely, Lili and Alan

Highly Recommended

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed for two weeks in September and couldn't have been happier. We were looking for a place to relax and enjoy Nanaimo and the surrounding area and that's exactly what we got. The location is ideally situated in a nice area of the city with outstanding views of the ocean. The house is fairly new and has all the amenities we needed. The owners, Michael and Leanne, are great to deal with and answered any questions promptly. We are happy to highly recommend this property. The next time we are in Nanaimo we will definitely hope to stay again.

Like living in a post card

  • 4 of 5

The above phrase is one we use to describe our time in the suite when telling people what our vacation was like. We would consider returning there if we were visiting the Island again.

The view was breathtaking, and the scene itself interesting with all the boats traversing the water and in the evenings the changes in horizon colour were great to watch. Bring binoculars!

The geographic location was ideal for a trip exploring greater central Vancouver Island with day trips to Coombs, Parksville, Comox, Tofino, Ucluelet and Chemainus and the like easily done. It is also within walking distance of several parks, but you need good legs and lungs to walk the steep driveway home. Be ready for that.

The suite had all we needed by way of amenities. The many windows which gave a great view also had a bit of a downside. There were times when we would have appreciated more of a feeling of privacy, as there are no curtains and the best place to catch some sun is a common area. We think it would be helpful for future clients to know this going in.

Owner's Response: Hi Pete, hi Amy, It was a pleasure having you as guests, and as mentioned in our email a few days ago, we are replacing the trees in the privacy planter box that was eaten by the deer; beautiful to watch, yet they do get hungry for luscious evergreens! Our spectacular view is to the north, across Georgia Stait to the mountains; great view yet less sun, which is why we constructed the sunny patio next to the fish pond on the south side of our home; this is a common area that we and our guests can share and enjoy. We look forward to seeing you and your well behaved dogs in the future. Thanks, Michael & Leanne
