Great Home - Historical integrity with modern conveniences and a super location
This house served as our base for a family vacation to San Diego, it is beautiful home. A well maintained historic structure with modern bath and kitchen facilities located in a quiet residential neighborhood. The front porch is nice for evening visits / reading time; it has seating for 6 people. The sleeping accommodations worked great for our family (four adults and a teenager). Large bathrooms with modern features on both floors. The house is located a short distance from the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, SeaWorld, Petco Park, Downtown, Harbor, Beach, and numerous restaurants. Walking distance to grocery store, restaurants, parks! The kitchen and laundry room have great modern appliances and the gas grill on the backyard deck worked great for burgers and chicken. The backyard has a privacy fence, nice grassy area and a table with umbrella for outdoor meals. We loved the large dining room table for family breakfast. The wireless network worked great and the flat screen TVs both upstairs and downstairs are nice. The owner is very personable, Jake met us at the house even though our flight was delayed and we arrived at 11:30 pm. For families with younger children there is swing set play area in the backyard. Everything about the house met / exceeded our expectations - we highly recommend this home!
Our 5 day trip to San Diego was great, underscored by our stay at this lovely home! Located in a residential area that was safe and well-located, the house provided a solid home base for a wide range of activities: San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, SeaWorld, Safari Park, Birch Aquarium, Torrey Pines, Cabrillo National Monument & Lighthouse at Point Loma, Padres baseball at Petco Park, Old Town, Coronado, Stone Brewing Co. (awesome lunch!), sailboat cruise... I could go on and on!
The house is roomy, very comfortable, and well-equipped. The interior design of the home is interesting & appealing. Everything we needed was there, and an easy walk to a full service grocery store was an added bonus. In addition, owner Jake was very friendly and responsive to our inquiries and requests. Without question we would rent this property again if returning to the area. It turned out to be an excellent choice!
Great vacation home!
This house was lovely for our 5 day vacation stay in SD. We had 8 adults in the house and there was plenty of room for everyone. The interiors and exterior were clean and well maintained as described. The dining room's large table and open floor plan were perfect for our group meals and activity times. We enjoyed cooking using the outside BBQ grill and large, fully equipped kitchen with 6 burner stovetop. Another plus is that the grocery store is a 5 min walk away. It is also a 5 min walk to a bus stop and we took public transportation often to get to Downtown. The owner is friendly, quick to respond to texts and helpful with our questions. We would definitely recommend this property to another group or family.
