About Pat O'Donnell
My wife Dena and I have two very active boys. With our hectic schedule we can't find the time to be at the cabin enough so we decided to share it with you. I've lived in Wisconsin my whole life and I absolutely love Door County.
Pat O'Donnell purchased this Cabin in 1995
Why Pat O'Donnell chose Gardner
I think this is the best area of the county because this isn't the high traffic tourist area, but yet you can enjoy a short scenic peaceful drive along the shoreline to visit all the wonderful areas in the county.

Great lakefront property in quiet area!
We loved renting this cottage in Southern Door County. It was right on the bay, which we loved. We used the provided kayaks and life jackets (assorted sizes were on site) and they were perfect for getting out in the water. We sat out on the new pier and enjoyed the weather. We made dinner a few nights and sat outside on the new table/chairs. The kitchen is pretty well equipped with everything you need in terms of pots/pans/dishes, etc. The cottage was comfortable for our family and as described in the ad. It was in a quiet/rural area - yet 30-45 minutes north we were in the heart of the county. We took day trips up to Egg Harbor, Sister Bay, Fish Creek, Peninsula State Park, Cave County Park, and more. We had a great dinner at PC Junction which was served to us from a train car!! Highly recommend that place for some family fun. Morning Glory was great for breakfast and Belgian Delight was great for a meal, as well! These two locations are within 10 minutes of the cottage. Marchant's grocery store is pretty small, but only 8 minutes from the cottage. Sturgeon Bay is about 25 minutes and we found a Target and other stores there. We also recommend Door County Trolley for a nice ride around town and to see some sites/learn some history. The nice part about this house is it is also only 35 minutes from Green Bay, so it made for a nice day trip to see Lambeau Field. We also took our laundry to a great laundromat in Green Bay as the cottage does not have a washer/dryer and we stayed a week. My family caught lots of fish in the lake from the kayaks (white perch, walleye, and sheephead). My boys (ages 9 and 11) loved to jump off the dock and swim around the lake. The sunset views were phenomenal and different every night. We loved to sit out on the front porch and watch the sunset! Lots of wild turkey and deer on the surrounding roads. The property is very near Sugar Creek County Park which has a nice walking path and disc golf. Highly recommend this rental for anyone looking for a waterfront location. Pat, the owner, was very helpful as we planned our trip and we even met some of the neighbors. We drove 17 hours to this destination and would definitely return!! We highly recommend!
Calm, peaceful, quiet stay.
The area is really quiet and the large yard is nice. The view is second-to-none!! Great stay and the property manager was very responsive to all questions. No complaints here...
Exactly what was expected 😊
We had a great time! The cabin really is just steps from the water! Would def. stay here again.
The quiet I needed.
I’m thankful for our stay here. I wanted a place to hang out for a few days and not be too busy running around. Sturgeon Bay was about 20 minutes away and Penninsula State Park less than an hour away. We had a beautiful weather window the last day of our stay and hung out at the pool at a local campground. Later, we went kayaking with kayaks provided with this property. We also enjoyed a nice fire in the fire pit and an amazing sunset. Thanks Pat for your attentiveness and for the stay!
Great place to enjoy and relax for the whole family.
This lake house was one of the best places we stayed. We went with our two kids( boys 12 and 5) and my parents. We had so much fun and created great memories. The house was clean and had everything we needed. In the garage the owner had so many things to enjoy on the water. He had wood for the fire we enjoyed at night and swings the kids and even the adults loved. The best thing was the view of the lake. So peaceful and quiet. We will definitely come back.
It was a pleasure hosting you. I'm glad you had so much fun and great memories for you and your family.
This is a nice little cabin. The view is beautiful. The only problem we had was, it was only 46 degrees in the cabin when we got there. With only space heaters to heat the place it took all night to get it warm enough to be comfortable. The wood stove only gives out ambient heat, so no real help. Once we were comfortable it was great.
Thanks for saying that it was nice, beautiful and comfortable. Sorry for the temperature upon arrival. The heat was not turned up due to a loss in my cleaning lady's family. Besides the space heaters there are baseboard heaters in every room. They can be over whelming once up to temperature. Once the room is at the desired temp, I recommend using the infrared heaters only. The wood stove will also heat the entire cabin when closing the stove door. It's extremely efficient and one round of wood can burn for 8 hours. We've had to open doors and windows at times. I'm always available for questions by phone or email.
