We are Cary and Georgia Robles of
Cary Robles purchased this condo in 2004
Nearing retirement, we wanted to have a warm winter getaway. We love Hawaii but wanted to be away from the hustle bustle of Honolulu. I used to Surf and we were beach people when we were younger. The Northshore was the place!
We love the first floor, there is always a cool breeze, we rarely use the air conditioner because we are insulated by the upper floor. We love to walk to the beach by the hotel or to our special hideaway, Kawela Bay.
It was hot when we were there but this condo was amazingly cool. We used the air conditioner very little. I guess it was because we were on the ground floor, yet we heard little noise from upstairs. Being close to the pool was great and we loved the almost private beach the owners suggested. We are coming back!
Calendar above won't go to June or July. Our arrival date was Jun 30, 2015
Cozy, clean, comfortable and convenient! 2 full bathrooms is a plus and rare for a 1 bedroom condo. The AC was perfect and appreciated in July! My husband and I felt at home immediately and have always enjoyed the luxurious resort grounds of Turtle Bay...prettiest place on this side of the island. We love that we can use the TB beaches and the condo pools...both are a way too cool down in the summer. We actually went to a different beach every morning and would come back to relax at Turtle Bay for the afternoons. The owners were extremely easy to work with and communicated well and were helpful throughout the renting process. When we visit again, we'll most definitely try to book this condo. It's a winner. Price for the value is a selling point.
My husband & I have stayed on Oahu 5 times & stayed here our last trip. It is a truly lovely place..very clean & well decorated, with everything you need for a great time ! Cary ( the owner) is a joy to work with & is very helpful! The location ( by Turtle Bay) for those who aren't familiar with Oahu, is perfect! The grounds are very secure & well-kept. It is a short, 10 min walk to the beach at Turtle Bay, & there are many other amazing beaches a close drive away! Haleiwa- a wonderful little town to visit, is about a 20 minute drive. There are shrimp trucks about a five mniute drive the other direction. You need to stay here!
I grew up on Oahu and have been back several times. I've always stayed in Waikiki until this trip. Turtle Bay and the North Shore (Kahuku) location of this condo are very beautiful and quiet (except for the rooster who crowed in the mornings up the road, love it!). The Condo is to die for, and a little home away from home. So much so that I looked at other units in the complex for sale while we were there and we definitely didn't want to "move out" at the end of our vacation. Everything is provided for you, more than you would find in any hotel. With the ceiling fans on and the sliding doors in the living room and bedroom open you get a wonderful cool fresh air breeze throughout. We never turned on the air conditioner once. The sofa in the living room is so comfortable that my wife and I found it hard to get up and go to bed. I would doze off out there almost nightly LOL. My morning ritual was to take a cup of coffee into the "backyard" and visit with the snails and Geckos and birds that inhabit the lush greenery that surround the Lanai and the golf course. We try to visit "home" once a year and will be making this condo our place to stay from now on until the owner no longer has it available!! there are many restaurants and two supermarkets nearby in Laie and Pupukea that provide anything else you could need as well. Thank You for a wonderful, unforgettable vacation!! If you plan to spend a lot of time on the Leeward side of the island (i.e. Waikiki, Pearl Harbor) be prepared for about an hours absolutely delightful drive back and forth to the condo. I have always loved to drive along the coast on Oahu, so this was absolutely perfect for me!!
I was impressed with the quality of the property! Reading through some of the reviews of the area, I can see that some units are run down. This one has been remodeled and kept up very well, but also on the low side for prices! It was quiet the week we were there, convenient to the highway and North Shore beaches, and also close enough for day trips to Honolulu.
While it was not part of the Turtle Bay hotel, we found the staff to be helpful and professional. The restaurants are convenient. The owner was prompt in answering questions, and the local manager was very helpful as well.
The pool is within easy walking distance, clean and beautiful, and hardly anyone else was there. The trash bin is close by, and included places for recycling.
While I appreciate taking one's shoes off while inside, the entryway is a hallway and my mom especially needed to sit to take off and put on her shoes. I wonder if it would be possible to have a wall-mounted folding bench of some sort for that purpose. I put a chair in the hall, but it took up much of the space.
There was a great breeze all the time, so we never needed to use the air conditioner. It's an ideal place, and I highly recommend it!
My husband, 9 year old son, and I just returned from a week's vacation on Oahu. We stayed in this condo in Turtle Bay and really loved the location. It is quieter on the north shore (we have stayed in Waikiki previously), and this allowed us to relax. The condo is clean and roomy. The bed as well as the futon in the living room are very comfortable, and the kitchen is full size with good appliances. This unit is located an easy walk to the pool, which is very clean. Plus, every time we went to the pool there were lounge chairs available. The beach is a 10 minute leisurely walk from the condo, and it is a good place to snorkel and layout (not good for surfing or boarding). My husband is training for a marathon, and from the condo he was easily able to find running paths, especially on the golf cart paths. Within 20 minutes of the condo you will find the cute town of Haleiwa, which was great for a little shopping and to go out to dinner at fun local places. Also close was the Polynesian Cultural Center, a great experience while you are on Oahu. All-in-all I would recommend this property. A fair price, a good location, family friendly.
We had stayed on Oahu several times and this was, without a doubt, our best experience. The condo was more roomy and clean than we anticipated. We were very happy with the location and facilities; it was just as described (I did go in skeptical, but I was pleasantly surprised). Owner and manager were very responsive. My wife and I just loved everything about this place. It was just perfect. We couldn't imagine staying anywhere else again. I can't say enough good things about this place and would recommend it to anyone. Our only complaint was we didn't stay long enough.
