Located on the third (and top) floor of the “Sunset Building” at Mariners Cay, this bright 3-bedroom corner unit offers a panoramic view of the Folly River and its surrounding marsh. (This building has an elevator.) Relax each evening on the screened porch or deck and enjoy the gorgeous sunset. Perhaps you will spot a dolphin, a pelican, or other marsh bird native to the South Carolina coast. The tranquility and natural beauty of this area create a restful environment for you to truly feel at peace.

A spacious and inviting kitchen/dining/living area with views of the water and marsh from the large window and sliding doors await you. You enter the screened porch with its adjacent deck from this area, as well as from the master bedroom. Two additional bedrooms and two full baths complete this condo unit. There are two bicycles for guest use, but you may want to bring your own helmets.

Mariners Cay is a gated community that offers a huge swimming pool, tennis courts, clubhouse, crabbing dock, and boat landing. It is an easy walk (less than a half mile) to Folly Beach and its pier and just minutes away by bike.

Folly Beach, the closest beach to downtown Charleston and its many historic and beautiful sights, as well as fine restaurants, is a six-mile long barrier island with a county park at the western end and the historic Morris Island Lighthouse at its eastern end. It is approximately 15 minutes away by car to downtown Charleston. You do not need to drive to Charleston to enjoy great food, however. Folly Beach and nearby James Island have many good cafes and restaurants.

Charleston has been selected by several travel publications as the number one travel destination in the U.S. Its well-preserved homes, public buildings, churches, parks, former rice plantations that are now beautiful gardens (Middleton, Magnolia, and Cypress), as well as Civil War and Revolutionary War sites, attract thousands of visitors each year. In addition, there are many excellent restaurants, a large variety of stores and boutiques, music of all kinds, and cultural performances throughout the years, most notably the Spoleto festival in late May to early June.

About: I was born and raised in Charleston but left when I was 18 to attend college. I have lived away from Charleston for many years and am currently living in Columbus, Ohio, but I have always longed to be back in my hometown. When this unit in Mariners Cay came on the market, my husband and I jumped at the chance to purchase it.

Why Folly Beach, SC, USA:
We loved the magnificent, unobstructed view of the water and marsh from the condo and its proximity to Folly Beach, less than a half mile to the ocean. And, the sunsets! There is a reason that this building is called the 'Sunset Building!'

The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Our condo is a corner unit, so we have light coming in from two directions. It is on the top floor, so there are no footsteps above us. We were glad to discover that there is an elevator so that some of our older relatives can access our condo easily.
