This charming loft is part of the idyllic Alpine Chalets community, a group of mountain-style, A-frame cottages located on Beverly Beach - a long stretch of sand extending all the way south to the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse. Aside from its great location, a stay at this Otter Rock vacation chalet offers a relaxing retreat for you, your family, and up to two dogs, with a lovely view of the ocean.
Inside, a shabby-chic aesthetic includes a plush sofa, easy chairs, and a floral valance framing the ocean-view window. Wood paneling and ceiling beams give this cozy home base a warm and cheery glow. A small electric fireplace will add to the ambiance, especially on stormy evenings. After a day spent running on the beach with the dogs or exploring the ocean exhibits at the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport, come back to your chalet for mugs of hot cocoa, and an evening of watching your favorite DVDs on the TV. You'll also have cable and WiFi here, so you'll have plenty to occupy your time, even on rainy days.
In the well-organized but basic kitchen, there are all the necessary appliances at your disposal for preparing everything from simple breakfasts to popcorn to a big pot of pasta and clams for a candlelight dinner while the kids play upstairs. The only thing lacking is a dishwasher, but hey - you can always just let the pots and plates soak while you walk down to the beach and enjoy a colorful, late summer sunset!
On the main level, a quiet bedroom is just off the kitchen. With a queen bed and vibrant bedding, this room will lull its occupants to a peaceful sleep. And in the morning, it's only a few steps to the coffeemaker. Also on this level is a full bathroom, so the downstairs guests won't need to navigate stairs if they'd rather not.
For those that do head upstairs, a large, open loft area includes a kids' sleeping area with two twin beds, and a separate sitting area with an additional sofa, TV, and DVD player. From this spot, you'll even have another view of the ocean! And for added convenience, there's also a half bath up on the loft level - perfect for entertaining younger guests while the adults sleep in downstairs. This chalet will sleep up to six guests comfortably (there's also a sleeper sofa available). And don't forget, up to two dogs are welcome (though a nightly fee per dog and a minimum fee per stay will apply).
Come to the Central Oregon Coast and ease your feet into the sea with a stay at the Otter Rock vacation rental. Picture relaxing evenings, adventure-filled days, and a cozy home-away-from-home steps from the beach!
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
From what we could see from the outside, it looks like each chalet is a little bit different. We stayed in #7 for our anniversary this year, and overall we loved it! The loft was adorable -- I almost wish the master bed had been up there, because that's where we spent most of our time! The location is great for getting to 3 major coastal cities, and the private access beach was beautiful! The chalet looked in need of a few updates or repairs, and the amount of bugs swarming just outside the door and in the parking lot was super unappealing. But we had a wonderful time and would consider staying here again! It's a good value if you stay for more than a couple nights.
The location was perfect for exploring the Oregon coast both north and south of the property. The space would be quite nice for a small family and suited our needs fairly well, with one exception. The bed downstairs really needs to be replaced. It sagged so badly in the middle that the only way to successfully sleep on it was to hug the edges.
The view really has been overtaken by tree growth and the climb down to and up from the beach is not for the faint of heart. Only the relatively fit should plan to undertake this route. But the beach is stunning and you can walk quite far to the south. North is more precluded by the outcropping that contains Devil's Punchbowl.
I was really surprised at how the add on fees added up: booking fee, service fee, cleaning fee all added over another $100 to a three night stay.
chalet was clean had everything but the food property manager was very helpful, maid was a hard worker tried to please everyone
I have a group of 10 friends who get away with families every year and we have been to Alpine Chalets for 9 out of the last 10 years. There are common gathering areas and it's great with kids. If I were choosing a place to stay for the weekend by myself I wouldn't choose Alpine Chalets. They're just okay for the price and the parking lot smells like sewage. The meadow (on the way to the beach) is great, again good for large groups.
