Here at Honey Grove we keep honeybees, tend organic gardens and care for an elegant, fully self-catering rental cottage. Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Comox Valley, Honey Grove is a private and enchanting country escape.
We are located in the heart of the beautiful Comox Valley just a short drive from the picturesque towns of Courtenay and Comox, as well as the renowned Mount Washington Ski Resort. Our cottage is a part of our 6 acre apiary and organic farm. Gorgeous west coast beaches are 5 minutes down the road, as are breathtaking walks through mossy old growth forest.
The cottage looks out onto it’s own private fenced yard as well as our vegetable gardens and apiary. Guests can sit on the deck with their morning coffee and watch honeybees gathering nectar from the garden flowers.
The cottage contains a fully equipped chef’s kitchen and all the comforts of home, including: Posturepedic Queen size bed with organic cotton bedding, cozy pull-out sofa bed, Graco Pack N’ Play baby bed and booster seat, washer/dryer, high-speed wired Internet service and a high definition TV with a large selection of DVD, Blue-Ray programs and cable. We also have an extensive library and board game collection.
The cottage can sleep up to four people. We will also consider the accommodation of very well-behaved dogs, upon the request of responsible dog owners.
Upon arrival guests will find our Honey Grove breakfast basket waiting for them. Guests will love the beauty and tranquility of this country retreat.
Honey Grove is the long time dream of Nao and Mark Sims, it is the result of their heartfelt dedication to a more sustainable way of life. Nao grew up on 160 acres in British Columbia’s wild interior with beekeeping- homesteading parents.
For Nao this upbringing instilled a life long interest to live simply and close to the earth. Mark grew up on the southern coast of England, where he was raised in a family of plant enthusiasts, his father being one of England’s leading horticulturists.
Honey Grove is located in the fertile valley of the Comox Valley, in the heart of a burgeoning food-culture, known for it's dedication to quality, freshness and organic practices. It is a short distance from beautiful beaches and forest walks, as well as a 20 minute drive to Mount Washington. If you are looking to get closer to nature, to be restored by the beauty of the natural world, than Honey Grove is your destination.
Here at Honey Grove you can experience apiary tours, honey tastings, artisanal bread baking workshops or simply relax and enjoy the tranquility of this country escape. Honey Grove is a peaceful 6 acre sanctuary that looks on to lovingly tended organic vegetable and flower gardens. Sip your coffee on the front porch of the cottage and watch honeybees gather nectar from nearby flowers.
We had a wonderful time staying at this little perfect house on a wonderful property. It was ideal for our 9 month and 3 year old. Sleeping with a 9 month old is always a gamble but we felt right about sharing this experience with them. They were very happy to be there. The hosts were accommodating and their pride of their little piece of heaven shows. We would stay again without hesitation.
The cottage at Honey Grove is absolutely wonderful! The owners have anticipated your every need including lavender scented toiletries, fresh cooked bread and organic home grown fruit upon arrival, and even cozy robes and slippers as well! The cottage itself is very well appointed and clean. The kitchen is large and has most everything you could need to make any meal you could want. There is a separate dining room, living room (including an electric fireplace) and nice sized bedroom. The bed is so comfortable and we slept very well in the super quiet farmland.
Speaking of the farm....it is magical! There are friendly chickens who will run up to say hi to you, a flock of funny ducks, random deer roaming through and gorgeous vegetable and flower gardens too.
We took our dog with us and it was great to walk the trails surrounding the farm every morning. The only thing that would have improved our stay was less rain :)
Thanks for sharing your special spot with us - we hope to return in the future.
Great little hideaway. The hosts are friendly and attentive; the property is beautiful and quiet; the food provided was fresh and delicious; the location is a perfect base for exploring all the great things on offer in the Comox Valley and surrounding area. Only complaint was that the mattress was too soft for our liking. Highly recommended!
