We really enjoyed our stay. Rhonda made sure everything was taken care of and ready for our arrival. The house is spectacular and clean, and so conveniently located to all of historic Wilmington. We will definitely be back and have already told several friends about this delightful gem of a house. Thank you!!

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful historic house. It looks even better then in the photos - it's tastefully decorated and cozy. Drinking wine on the porch was one of the highlights .This was one of the best vacations we had in years. Highly recommend!

Southern Perfection

  • 5 of 5

We cannot say enough how much we enjoyed our stay at RhondaSchoolfield's Woodbury-Hoggard home in the Historic District in Wilmington. Rhonda is the quintessential Southern hostess. From when we inquired about our stay through our departure she answered all questions, and exceeded our expectations to a lovely thank you "note" we received once we were home. The home itself was wonderful, quiet, cozy and well appointed. The artwork in the home was colorful and beautiful with most of it being done by the talented Rhonda. One of our favorite things to do during our two week stay was to sit on the veranda/front porch at the end of the day, rock in the rocking chairs and have a drink. The location of the home is ideal. We walked nearly everywhere. It Is only 5 blocks to the river attractions of stores, restaurants, water cruises, the USS North Carolna, museums, etc. When we did get in a car to explore, our starting location provided us a good starting point to the bridge, the beaches, and downtown Wilmington attractions. Rhonda suggested a number of restaurants to try. The ones we made it to were wonderful. At night, we would walk into town and have ice cream at Kilwins. A few mornings we had breakfast at the Dixie Grill. Both are on Market Street. The best part of each day was enjoying the quiet beauty of the Woodbury-Hoggard house- be it coffee in the living room, to sweet tea on the veranda, to a bubble bath in the claw--foot tub- we soaked it all in. Returning home to our daily routine, my husband commented that he would love to go back and embrace the pace of life that Wilmington shared.

What A Great Place! Verrazzano sailed up the Cape Fear River in 1524 ... and when he returned to Europe, he wrote that ours was the most beautiful area he had ever seen ... this was the first written description of 'the New World'.
