This is the place to stay if you want to be in downtown Asheville. Whether you're here for a romantic getaway or for one of our many festivals, look no further. Our loft features local art, full window view of College St, high ceilings, and exposed brick.
You will find everything you need for a relaxing stay -- a completely equipped kitchen (we will provide coffee & tea), an HDTV with BluRay (we provide a netflix account), a Soundfreaq Sound Kick wireless speaker (for Pandora, Slacker Radio, etc), a sleeper sofa with Sealy Posturpedic mattress in the living area, a queen size bed with memory foam mattress and pillows with high thread count bedding in the bedroom and a washer and dryer.
The loft is filled with art from local artists.
The building has an elevator and a secure keypad entry.
Several covered parking decks are nearby.
You will not need to drive unless you are going to the River Arts District, Biltmore House or hiking in the mountains. Located between Lexington Ave & Haywood St, the loft is a 1 minute walk to Pack Square and Biltmore Ave and a 3 minute walk to the Grove Arcade & Wall St.
Downtown Asheville is energetic and we are right in the center of the action! Lots of cool spaces to explore, amazing restaurants and nightlife. We are across the street from Table and Imperial Life, which features a Friday late night Hip Hop Dance party. We are two doors down from the One Stop/Asheville Music Hall which stays open late and features funk, reggae, and rock. Old time, bluegrass, celtic, rock, symphony, African drumming, trad jazz, modern jazz, gypsy, singer-songwriters and eclectic street performers are a stone's throw from here as well. Award winning restaurants including sushi, Indian (north or south), Korean, Italian, BBQ, Southern, vegan, charcuterie, farm-to-table, pizza, Spanish, gluten free, French, Chinese, bakeries, coffee houses, tea, four chocolateries, twelve breweries (and counting…) and food trucks galore. Art galleries feature openings every weekend in downtown and nearby and keep daytime business hours to explore artists from the area and from afar.
We visited Asheville on a weekend trip and fell in love with the town. Much cleaner and more vibrant than Memphis where we were currently living. An arts and music scene unparallelled. Andy quickly found work playing and teaching music and Krista continued her career path as a pharmacist. We raise chickens, brew beer and mead, garden, make wood-fired pizza, and cook at home.
Krista Preissler & Andy John purchased this condo in 2013
The building is 100 years old and has 'good bones' according to our upstairs neighbor who has lived there for 10 years and helped manage the remodel. Brick walls and huge windows give a view of the city like you won't find anywhere. We had been looking for a loft since we moved to Asheville and we're glad we waited until this one posed itself! We knew immediately it would be the best place to experience Asheville.
The loft features one wall of windows which looks out onto College Street. Guests of the loft can sit at our biergarten table with a glass of wine or cup of coffee and people-watch from above. We also have a big comfy chair and ottoman which is a great place to sit and read or listen to music. We love the ceilings, which are made of recycled bead board. All of the art in the loft was created by local artists. We are currently featuring oil paintings and watercolors of Gary Byrd and the comic folk art of Karen Hall.
As avid cooks we have stocked the kitchen with all of the supplies guests will need to cook meals.
Had a great time in Ashville. The location was great, could walk to every place we wanted to go. Great restaurants. Loft was very nice and roomy. Everything was great about our stay. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return.
We arrived on Friday night and parked our car in the Rankin garage and didn't have to drive the rest of the weekend! It was a perfect location. The furthest place we wanted to go (Funkatorium) was only like 1 mile away and we were totally fine with walking! The bed was soooo comfy & so was the couch! Fresh towels and everything you would need to cook (pots, pans, coffee maker & coffee). Everything was clean in the loft.
The street noise is kind of loud (not like insanely loud, but not ignorable) on weekend nights but we didn't mind. Just turn the TV up a little more! We loved every minute of it. Once the key pad didn't work but we called the owners and they immediately answered their phone and apologized and gave us the correct number. They also helped us know exactly where to park. Super nice and helpful.
We ate at Wicked Weed twice and went to the Funkatorium twice. SOOOOO GOOOD!
The only thing we regret was not getting a massage from the Spa Theology below us :)
My wife and I dropped the kids off with her parents and stayed here for 3 days for our anniversary. It was a perfect location- we didn't unpark the car the entire time! Lots of bars/breweries/activities to walk to. The loft is gorgeous, the kitchen is ample (though we never used it) and the bed was comfortable. We couldn't have asked for anything better!
My wife and I rate the Apartment with a grade of A for this LOFT Apartment:
1) The quality was excellent for the kitchen: pots, pans, sliver ware, utensils, supplies, appliances, coffee maker, toaster, blender etc.
2) The bathroom was modern with only the lighting over the sink that we believe could be improved. We suggest the owners consider a larger mirror over the sink with brighter side lighting.
3) The bed and bedding were of good quality and very comfortable with more than adequate storage space and modern hangers (no wire hangers).
4) The living room area was comfortable with a good selection of books. We do suggest that the owners consider the minimum for cable service.
5) The dining area was OK - The table was the only item that was below the quality of the LOFT.
6) The three ring binder with all the local information was very helpful.
7) The laundry area was very convenient especially with the enormous capacity of the washer and dryer.
Answers to you specific questions:
YES to all of the four questions!!
We enjoyed the Pizza restaurant two blocks from the apartment - Mushroom...
We were also please that the LOFT was so close to the Cathedral - St Lawrence.
The parking was very convenient and reasonably priced.
The only small negative was the bar downstairs after closing that was quite nosy around 2:00 to 2:30 am for two nights. It was only a minor irritation.
This an excellent place for me right in the middle of downtown I did not need to drive my care except going out to nil more house area fantastic place I would rent this loft again
First off Krista and Andy are very helpful and awesome. Their communication before, during and after was great and getting to the place was a breeze.
It has everything that you would normally need in your home. The look of the loft is great and very trendy. Only thing to note is that it is right in the heart of downtown so street noises should be expected but there are so many things to do within a 5 minute walk and a 10 minute drive that the some noise is an afterthought.
The price was great and it really did feel comfortable, much better than a hotel. Plus we got to bring our dog along and it made us feel better that he was close.
