Updated 2 Bedroom Walk To Downtown Fairfax
Our spacious, quiet, light filled apartment is surrounded by trees and has a view of the creek that runs through the property. Just steps from downtown with its restaurants and music venues. The town park with its towering redwoods and tennis courts are next door.
Centrally located in sunny Marin County's best weather area, Fairfax is a destination in it's own right. And it offers easy access to the entire Bay Area -- San Francisco (by car, bus, or ferry), 'the Bay,' Mount Tamalpais State Park, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, West Marin and Point Reyes National Seashore, the Pacific Coast beaches at Stinson Beach, Muir Beach, or Bolinas, and the world-famous Napa/Sonoma Wine Country. And don't forget the other charming towns in Marin, including Sausalito, Mill Valley, San Anselmo, Tiburon, Larkspur and San Rafael.

Why Anne Harris chose Fairfax
I love Fairfax's walkable small town feel with its access to hiking and biking trails.

Very comfortable and location excellent.
OK, but far from great.
Started out with a bad taste in my mouth when I was required to purchase an insurance policy against apartment damage. Either that, or fork over a large deposit with the wording "You may not get all of this returned", or something to that effect. I had a condo in Myrtle Beach that I rented out for 9 years and I NEVER required either. I just billed renters for any damage.
Location: pretty good. Walkable to downtown Fairfax, and fairly easy to get around the Bay area. Neighborhood was lower middle class, but seemed safe. Parking was always on the street with 15-20 other residents. Complex has only 3 parking places and 1 of those was handicapped. Expect to walk a little to get to apartment after parking.
Decor was mixed. Recent flooring upgrade and wall art was nice, but the furniture was what I would call "college student grade." Seven end tables between the 2 bedrooms and living room. None were the same. No A/C. Heat was via in-wall electric resistant heaters, and they worked nicely.
Kitchen was a mixed bag. Dated range and dishwasher, newer fridge (no ice maker, just 1 plastic tray). Nice granite counter top, subway tile backsplash, and old, hideous cabinets. Nicely stocked with kitchen items. Seating for 3 at small table in kitchen.
Lighting: 2 burnt out in kitchen, 2 in bath, and 1 in one of the bedrooms. Bedrooms had switched outlets, but out of 4 total bedroom table lamps, none were connected. Meaning that you have to walk into a dark bedroom to turn on a light.
Bedrooms: About 11 x 11 for each. Queen beds nice touch, but take up the majority of the bedroom floor space. Spacious closets and lots of hangars.
Nice, quiet location.
Well furnished place. Quiet neighborhood and very close to town. Restaurants, grocery and browsing a sort walk away. Nearby parking is sometimes hard.
Great Place for a Long Stay
This apartment was absolutely perfect for the 3 months I lived in Fairfax. Anne was so great and so helpful. The apartment was clean cozy and comforting and the town of Fairfax was just magical. It was very close to my job and to the city. I would 100% stay here again.
If staying any time in Fairfax, CA
Well, I arrived at 3:00 PM and the rental was not prepped. I got in touch with the landlord and got conflicting stories about when the cleaning crew should have been there, i.e. before my visit. (I was told that I would get a partial refund, still have not seen it as yet)
The cable was set to Spanish and the cable box was not functioning. "I" had to wait for the cable guy to come and replace the unit. This should NOT have been my problem. Who knows how long the cable box was not functioning.
It was not clear where garbage should be disposed. I had to ask another renter.
Otherwise, the rental unit was clean and near the town center.
Enjoyed my stay
The time we spent in family was wonderful and an important part of it was the aprtment itself in we found it very i clean , absolutelly all we need was there (kitcheware, towels, TV, wifi, etc) the location is perfect the main stores are at walking distance and the neighborhood is very quite and safe.
We found as well as oither visitors a Little challenging finding parking but is not imposible sometimes is necesary to walk a block but no ore tan that. We recomend it and for sure we will come back. Thankls a lot
