About Christine Coder
My husband purchased this property because he fell in love with it while he was on a walk in the neighborhood. I moved to Bellingham a year ago and we live in the main unit. I took one of the rental units ( the building was a single family home and had been converted to accommodate nuns that worked in a nearby hospital in the 1940's) and renovated it, which is what we use as our short term rental. I love meeting people from all over the United States. It is always amazing to meet people and see how similar we are, and celebrate the culture, share ideas, and be the host to others who are new in the area. I moved here from Vancouver B.C. Canada, and am anxious to meet people from around the U. S. to get to know my new country better. I have been to many cities in the world and love the Pacific Northwest.

Loved soaking in the view of the Bay on the patio while sipping a local cider or beer.
Charming old house with great views. Nicely appointed, we had everything we needed. Christine greeted us upon arrival and provided useful info on what to do, hikes, food, etc. Would recommend staying here.
Wonderful Apartment and Location
My daughter and I decided to visit Bellingham and picked this lovely apartment to stay in. It was walking distance to both Bellingham and downtown Fairhaven. Everything you need is included (towels, dishes, etc.) and the owner is responsive and thoughtful. Thanks for a wonderful girls weekend!
Great place great location beautiful views
Beautiful views great little fully equipped apartment. Clean and perfect for our stay.
We really enjoyed our stay! Christine and Patrick were wonderful hosts!
The views were incredible, we loved the character of the building and eclectic decorations, and the bed was soooo comfortable!
Thank you so much! We really enjoy hosting especially such lovely people.
Comfortable, convenient - exceptional views
This lovely apartment exceeded our expectations. Well-appointed kitchen, nice decor, comfortable mattress, short walk to trail and towns, and lovely balcony with views of sunset and bay. Our hostess, Christine, checked in to make sure we had all we needed, and provided great recommendations and directions for local restaurants. We will be back!
Beautiful South Hill
We have stayed at various VRBO rentals in Bellingham over the years - this was first time on South Hill. The location is lovely in the springtime - we are walkers - we enjoyed walking the neighborhood and following the local shore trail to Fairhaven for brunch. There ARE a lot of steps and hills along most walking routes in Bellingham, especially South Hill - the views along the way are tremendous but note to bring good walking shoes!
The apartment offered beautiful views of the bay and fresh air, light breezes off the bay in the morning made for a real treat. Space was well-appointed and very suitable for 2 people.
The owners assured us if there was anything at all that we might need, they would see to it. We truly enjoyed this home away from home!
Fairhaven Village has many excellent restaurants, our favorite is an Italian restaurant called Mambo Italiano, where we order local muscles with wine sauce, and martinis on Friday nights. Other local restaurants include Dirty Dan Harris for steaks, Jalapenos for Mexican food and great Margaritas!
Amazing local book store with a unique selection of books for everyone. ( another restaurant attached to this with wonderful lunches including gluten free options, the peanut butter cookies are amazing, and they can make a sandwich 'sans gluten' if you have not had one of those for ever). The bookstore has an outdoor courtyard where on Saturday evenings you can take a blanket, some take out food and watch a classic movie under the stars. They have a local farmers market that sets up on certain days and our very good friend and amazing artist Mary Gregg Byrne has a booth there, if you like what she has there and would love something specific you could have your favorite view of Bellingham Bay commissioned by her!
Antique shops with wonderful collectibles and vintage linen, lamps, and jewelry. On the way home from Fairhaven Village you can stop at the Chrysalis Spa and have a luxury experience, with massage, nails, facials and finish off with dinner at their waterfront restaurant.
( I had a gift certificate for this spa and went for a facial, and a manicure before Christmas one year, and I could not believe what a difference it made for my skin, I also purchased a terry/microfiber robe from them and I highly recommend it!)
The University is only a few blocks away, and is part of the Washington State University system. Western Washington is very proud of The Vikings men's basketball team. The home games a just a few minutes away. For parents visiting students at the university our apartment is a perfect place to stay. Here you will have a clean beautiful quiet place to come home to instead of sharing a room, worse yet a house with your university student and ' roommates'.
Downtown is a quiet but interesting place to wander, with museums, libraries and shops galore. For the shoppers, there are outlet malls 25 minutes down I-5 in Burlington, and north towards Canada. Vancouver is only 1 hour and 15 minutes for a day, and I used to live there so I am the best guide to what you are interested in to make the day tailored to you.
Mount Baker is also close by for those of you who like to hike and ski depending on the time of year.
I could go on and on about Bellingham, it is rated one of the top places to visit and live in the United States. Come and see why!
