Cozy 5Th Wheel In Wine Country

Overview

About the property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 4

Located on our 20 acre property in the heart of gorgeous wine country, this cozy, self-contained 5th wheel is the perfect way to go glamping (glamorous camping!). 1.5 miles from multiple wineries, and just 6 miles from Pismo beach and Lopez Lake. This serene, tranquil setting is a perfect location to skip away for a couple days, get away from it all, and enjoy the perfect weather on the California Central Coast. Soak your toes in the ocean or go wine tasting.

The Space

Location, location, location. Less than 1.5 miles from Kynsi and Chamisal wineries and withing 5 miles of nearly a dozen others. 7 miles from Pismo Beach, 6 miles from Lake Lopez and the excellent wilderness behind it. 8 miles into SLO and 5 miles to beautiful old town Arroyo Grande. Oh, and you can see acres and acres of rolling hills, vineyards, and mountains from the property.

Guest Access

You will have access to everything in the 5th wheel. None of it is shared by us. It includes a full kitchen and bathroom (and fun integrated sound system). The bathroom is stocked with soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The kitchen has a couple basic cooking ingredients and is well equipped with pots, pans, cast iron skillets, silverware, and dishes. It is cozy, but works wonderfully. There is also a great picnic table setup outside to enjoy our perfect climate. There is limited wireless internet as well (only strong devices will pick it up from inside the 5th wheel), otherwise you may have to go lie on the trampoline and check your email (or don't!).

Interaction with Guests

I will be present and available most of the time if you need anything. I do leave many weekends for traveling!

The Neighborhood

Our property is located on one of the most beautiful roads in San Luis Obispo county, with minimum lot size being 10 acres (we have 20!), you will get some of the most serene sleep you could ever imagine and a gorgeous tranquil environment.

Getting around

We are 5 miles from the San Luis Obispo airport.

Other Things to Note

Small dogs and cats are welcome. We have one dog who has a big fenced in area, so he won't be running around, and two great cats who may come say hi. We also have a handful of ducks and chickens and we let our neighbors 28 year old horse, Concho hang out in our pastures.

There is also a boogie board or two and an 8' foam top longboard to make a beach trip that much better!

The RV sleeps 4 comfortably, but can hold up to 6 as the couch folds down into a bed and the table drops into a bed, in addition to the bunk beds and queen.

Great spot!

  • 5 of 5

Such a cute and fun place to stay. Loved everything about it. Great views from the trailer, too. The location was excellent - close to wineries and the beach. Would definitely come back again! And our dogs had fun too. :-) Thanks!

Cozy and peaceful getaway

  • 5 of 5

I have always been curious about trailer living and was excited for the experience! It's an old 5th wheel, but redecorated and in great working condition! We loved it!! The space was very comfortable for my daughter and I. We are both small women and had no trouble with the smaller quarters, but I imagine a taller person would struggle. Location is absolutely beautiful, quiet and peaceful. Lots of storage to keep things out of living space. The owners brought us a bounty of garden veggies :-) We prepared some delicious meals and ate very well!

Wine Country 'Camping'

  • 3 of 5

So, my husband and I planned this much needed get away from the hustle and bustle of work, kids, and responsibilities.

Positives: Central Coast - What's not to love?! From the beginning Blake was very good to work with and responded to all inquiries rather quickly. He confirmed that he would be traveling abroad and we would have the property to ourselves. It was not until we got up there that things changed...

Negatives: We arrived at approximately 12:00am (prearranged with the owner) to pitch blackness with nothing marked for parking, fire pit location (which I actually parked right on top of because of that issue) ect. It was not until morning that we realized exactly how things are layed out in this 'remote camping experience.'

The 5th Wheel was pretty much as we expected. Older, kind of run down with a rather disgusting bathroom (OMG the smell from the toilet!) but perfect for what we needed. The major draw back: It is literally ACROSS THE DRIVEWAY from the owners house. I felt like I was camping in someone's front yard! 20+ acres and you can't manage a way to make it a little more private?? The 'fire pit' was no more than a small hole in the ground surrounded by 4' tall foxtail and very dry brush everywhere. The grounds were not at all manicured or cut down as it appears in the pictures. This left VERY LITTLE useable space for 'camping'.

The other major draw back: There are I don't know how many people living in the house (4-5+) that would come and go constantly. We were so close to the house I could see them walking around in the living room, vacuuming and some girl watering plants and drinking coffee right across from me. Not really the solitude and peace I thought I was getting. Some guy even drove up, didn't even introduce himself and told us to put out the fire we had just lit. I'm sorry, but you're not Blake-he already told us it was fine. Who are you by the way? No response, he just drove up to the garage and went in the house.

Such a lovely area and what could be a great property and experience if it was maintained and setup better. But for me, a Rather underwhelming experience....

Nice spot!

  • 4 of 5

Great location and view, very close to wineries. The RV was.... well, an RV. But clean enough and the host was very cool and accommodating. Didn't use the firepit, but it was available, and our dogs enjoyed running around in the field. Enjoyed morning coffee looking at the 360 view.

Unconventional Rustic Escape

  • 5 of 5

This quaint 5th wheel in wine country was exactly what we were looking for, and more than met our expectations. Initially, we were intending on going camping in the area because we had our dog with us, but as much as we love to camp, didn't want the hassle of tents this time around. I was so pleased when I found this unique option right smack in the middle of some of our favorite wineries.

Blake was very helpful and generous during our stay, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. He even shared some of the bounty from his garden.

The beds were cozy and comfortable, the stove worked great, and it was pure serenity. Do make sure to make use of the provided Tupperware for your food as ants WILL find whatever is left unsecured! If you have any cassette tapes, bring them, because there is an actual cassette player built in! Really!

We loved the view and waking up in the morning to see the sun casting its light across the rolling hills. It was nice to walk around the property with our dog and just relax at the picnic table, watching the horse graze in the nearby field.

Even though we were less than 10 minutes from town, it felt like we were deep in the country. Loved every minute of our stay and recommend it to anyone looking for an unconventional rustic escape.
