Jeanne fell in love with the Big Island first, and never left, and she is just as passionate about the island now. An avid hiker she has worked as a naturalist tour guide, and is available for personal tours, if you want learn about the island. Jeanne also loves the green side of this paradise island, at one time growing coffee, she now grows orchids and many fruits you will find in your Aloha basket when you arrive. She also has Arabian Horses which she has been breeding for 25 years.
We were initially concerned about road noise for this rental but with the modifications the owners put in place and with all the fans there was absolutely no problem. The home was clean, well appointed, the bed was comfortable and we found everything we needed in the kitchen for preparing all our meals. We are scuba divers and this property was great because it provided a place to rinse and dry our gear. The covered carport was handy on those few drizzly days and the big screen TV was enjoyed when we were not diving or golfing. This home is close to shopping, numerous golf courses and the harbor so it was perfect for us. Jeanne was very friendly and helpful at arrival and the fresh fruit basket was a lovely gesture. All in all it was a very nice stay and we hope to book this property again the next time we come to Kona!
Well stocked home with kitchen supplies, shampoo & beach toys. Nice fruit trees on the property. We were surprised that there was no dishwasher but it worked out okay. I'm sure it said that on the description but I never think to double check that. Saw a few cockroaches which is expected in a tropical place but still freaked us out a bit. Very welcoming hosts. Washer broke but owners got it fixed immediately. Others had left food in refrigerator and cabinets which was really nice to help with making meals. WiFi was good. Possibly a book from the owners with maps and recommendations would be nice for things to do and restaurants.
we had a fantastic stay at the palana hale!! very clean, and they really thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. we have two toddlers, and Jeanne made sure to include swim toys, potty seat, high chair, and bed rails. the location was perfect... just minutes away from shopping and the beach. we will definitely be staying again for our next vacation!! Thank you Jeanne and Alan!!!
Not what it was advertised as, outside very junkie on side of house. Lawn furniture old.
Inside needed cleaning, twin bed in small bedroom to long for room so door would not close so no privacy! Mattress pads VERY stained!!
Our stay at the Palani home was awesome. We didn't get to meet Alan but Jeanne was amazing! We brought our two young children with us and they loved this home. They had all the toys, books, movies and beach that you could ever need! I especially loved that they had a pack and play for our baby and even bed rails for our toddler. The fresh fruit that was provided was such a nice treat especially when our toddler got to pick her own from the tree in the back yard. This home was very comfortable and inviting and was equipped with more necessities than you could think of. It was also very close to all the stores you could need and close to a great beach for the kids. Jeanne was really knowledgable and gave some great areas and activities to try that we didn't even know about. We loved our stay and wouldn't hesitate to go back! Mahalo Alan and Jeanne!!
We are close to Kailua town and a lot of the activities and shopping, our 'Big island of Hawaii' is the largest in the island chain and has so much for you to do and explore it takes awhile to see, so plan more time here to enjoy it all. There are beaches, for swimming, snorkelling and surfing and diving just minutes from the house. The Largest Marina on the island is just 10 minutes away with famous fleet or sport fishing boats, but we can offer you the best fishing at affordable rates aboard The Hapa Laka Hawaiian Charter Boat, a 5 star rated sport fishing vessel, plus take some dinner fish home to BBQ. We sit on the lush slope of Hualalai Mnt. so there are views of the ocean any where you travel. The area is Sunny 90% of the year, and we are in the green belt on the island where they grow the world renown Kona Coffee. The Volcano Natl. Park is a must see just 2 hours away on the other side of the island. If you like to hike you can be very busy here! So Aloha come explore or just relax in the sun.
