About Kevin & Carol Jacobson
Kevin and Carol have been married for over 3 decades. They are MN natives who live and work in the Twin Cities but whose hearts belong to the north woods lake country. They have vacationed in the Leech Lake area their entire married life. After becoming empty nesters and grandparents, they purchased the newly constructed Pine Point Lodge in 2012. It has been their dream to have a “cabin” in northern Minnesota where they can gather with their growing family and friends.
Kevin & Carol Jacobson purchased this House in 2012
Why Kevin & Carol Jacobson chose Turtle Lake Township
Leech Lake boasts about 200 miles of shoreline. It is interesting to navigate, challenging to fish, welcoming for water sports, and gorgeous to gaze upon. Of course, there’s more than lakes up here. The charming, bayside village of Walker—accessible by road or water—provides shopping, eating, and entertainment that satisfies the interests of people of all ages. The Walker area is a very welcoming community, and after 40+ years of visiting here, we feel like locals.
What makes this House unique
Our home is located on MN's premier Leech Lake on the northeast tip of Pine Point, often highlighted as the best walleye fishing on the lake. The rugged shore line features massive rocks where the waves often crash, creating a marvelous melody of nature that can soothe the soul. The lodge itself is worth the trip, complete with all the comforts of home presented with the charm of a north woods cabin. Its size and features meet the needs for a variety of guests, and the quiet beauty of the surrounding woods offers a setting of peace and tranquility.

This is a great place to relax after a long day of fishing. After cleaning fish and eating supper you can make your way to the basement for a couple hours of pool before bed.
Our property on Pine Point of Leech Lake is a premier spot for fishing, both during winter and summer!
The house and yard are beautifully maintained.
We loved the yard and and flower gardens. It was a wonderful place to sit and walk. The house itself had a full kitchen, even spices! The dishware and utensils were well matched and of a high quality. The bedrooms and sitting areas were well furnished and thoughtfully arranged. The owners keep the place up very well and we found them friendly and helpful.
We especially liked the deck and screened in porch. There is a pleasant dock and canoe. And the road is not heavily traveled. We and others often walked along it. We loved everything about the house. If we can, we will come again.
There is a marina and a beach close by, as well as a boat and pontoon rental facility. Walker is further, perhaps 25 minutes. But it is an interesting town to visit.
I highly recommend the property.
We try hard to offer these things so it is worth our effort when our guests appreciate all that we have.
Lake Country Shangri-La
There is nothing you could possibly want that this property does not provide. It is absolutely spectacular. For more detail, see my review below from July 19, 2016. We obviously went back in 2017 and we'll be back again in 2018. It's probably the nicest property on Leech Lake that a large family/group can book. Carol & Kevin are fabulous hosts and we left this year feeling very lucky they continue to share this north country paradise. #pilesofmemoriesmade
We are thrilled to have such good renters who appreciate the benefits of our home and property.
Had a great time living with a perfect mix of woods and convenience
Kitchen had everything we had at home and four bathrooms were large and very clean. Slept like a baby and experienced a wonderful combination of woods and convenience. In the morning there were two baby foxes playing in the yard and baltimore orioles building a nest with goldfinches at one of the bird feeders. Very few bugs when we were there and it was fun to watch fishermen from the deck. Absolute heaven!
That definitely describes it--a piece of heaven on earth!
Great House with plenty of room!
We had a large group up ice fishing which was great. At the end of the day there was a place to clean fish and prepare supper. Once everyone would relax there was enough space for all to go there own way without bothering others, some played pool, some watched tv, and other just relaxed. With 4 baths getting going in the morning was a breeze. Great home hope to stay again. Thanks
Our home's location provides great opportunities for unique adventures in all 4 seasons. Ice Fishing on Leech Lake is on the top of the list.
Incredible Lake Home!
This lake home has it all! 6 large bedrooms comfortably sleep everyone, pool table, darts, bubble hockey and theater room! We came up for a fishing trip, but the weather kept us inside almost the entire time...thankfully we stayed entertained in the cabin! Carol is a wonderful host! Thank you!!
We're located on a hotspot for walleye fishing. When the weather doesn't cooperate, then there are plenty of things to do inside.
