Great time in this condo for one week shaun was great to work with condo is well-stocked and amazing views from the balcony. Love having access to the dreams hotel and restaurants. the waiters and entertainment crew were great always something to do
It was a wonderful place we enjoyed our vacations the condo its very nice, the pool area is wonderful for kids. The manager and his wife very nice persons and really helpful.
We stayed 10 days here in lieu of our annual Maui vacation, due to the weak CAN dollar. At roughly half the cost, the trip was excellent, condo is quite large, and the views are amazing. Great views of the property and ocean. Likely the best feature of the condo is the glass living room wall which slides away, opening up the condo to the sounds of the waves and the fresh ocean breeze. Shawn (property manager) was excellent from the first greeting through the duration of our stay. He was prompt when we needed anything, and readily available as he lives nearby.
Amazingly, the ocean water is incredibly warm, and excellent for boogie boarding in the mornings when the surf is strong. We were boarding some 8-10 foot waves in the mornings, which was great, although not good for intermediate swimmers/kids. Only downside was the waves and current made it nearly impossible for our kids (4 & 5 yrs old) to swim, and most of the time the resort staff weren't allowing kids in the ocean at all. Thankfully, the pools on the resort are great so we made the best of it. We also took a cab to Splash waterpark nearby, which was fun, although NO LIFE JACKETS ALLOWED ON ANY SLIDES, even for our small children, who were also not allowed to slide down with the parents.... Which means there was only 1 slide they could go on without drowning at the bottom.. Admission cost is higher than posted on their website, some of the slides were closed due to construction, and slides are a "rough ride" on your back.
Those of you looking to add the all-inclusive daily cost, beware the $89 US/person/day, which is tragic for us Canadians at the moment, but MEGA and WALMART are both around $10 away in a taxi. The food is pretty good, although selection is limited, as the Dreams side where the food is, is tiny. The selection at the buffet is less like a buffet, and more a continental breakfast with lunch and dinner food. Also beware, there is ZERO nightlife here on the Dreams resort. We weren't looking for a nightclub, but even the last bar (open to midnight on occasion) was a ghost town after 10pm. If I were staying with the Dreams resort as an all-inclusive guest, I would be majorly disappointed with the amenities/selection for the prices they charge, relative to the 14 other 4-5 star all-inclusives we have stayed at in the past. So, this condo(with groceries) for us next year is a no-brainer.
All in all, the vacation was excellent and the condo was amazing. Thanks Shawn, see you again next year!
We only had one night at this amazing property, we were so delighted when we entered the condo and it was more than we were expecting. Villa Magna has a beautiful facilty, huge pool, and many onsite dining options. We are so Thankful that Shawn was able to fill in our last night. The condo is well decorated, stocked, and suited for families, we will definitely be staying here again.
When we first came into the condo and saw the beautiful view of the water and the bay my wife and kids said, "Well this doesn't suck".
As a family of 8 with three couples and two young adults the condo was very comfortable. Three of the four bedrooms were normal bedrooms with a king, a queen and 2 singles. The fourth bedroom was more like a small servants quarters which was located at the end of the galley kitchen. It was small but did have its own bathroom. The bed in this room was a trundle bed and for some reason my wife and I ended up sleeping in this room and giving the other comforts to our kids.
A key plus was the wifi and cable service on the smart TV's which worked excellently with no dropped time or lack of service. We also we able to get enough English cable channels and could access Netflix.
The balcony was large and had some nice reclining deck chairs that seemed to always have someone asleep in them as they enjoyed the fresh air.
The beach was excellent, nice sand , no rocks, great for boogie boarding (3 were provided). The resort next to this one and its beach tended to get quite congested as it borders a public access point. Everyone comes in and takes the first free spot in front of the resort. Luckily that resort is quite long and so the beach in front of the Villa Magna was really only used by the people at the resort.
We bought our groceries at the Marcelas Walmart and it was easy to take a bus to and then catch a cab back (15 + 70 p) with our groceries.
Both Nuevo buses are good for this resort. The Nuevo Riu bus drops you off right at the gate and the Nuevo Vallarta bus drops you off at the traffic circle just before the Mirival and then you have a very short walk. Buses come about every 30 minutes and are 15 p.
The kitchen was sufficiently stocked and we didn't have any trouble cooking our dinners.
The property is a 30 minute walk to get to the Paradise Village Shopping Mall.
The pool and beach chairs fill up quick and so you have to go down and spot a place early. Half of the pool chairs never get any direct sun as they are blocked by the condos.
Shawn was very helpful and answered any questions we had during the week by e-mail.
This place is even better than advertised! The condo is big with incredible views. The beach is awesome (no rocks just sand) and is super close with chairs for maximal sun enjoyment. They also had boogie boards at the condo and beach towels. Running trails are awesome. There was a lot of activities going on at the Villa Magna that my kids had fun doing or seeing (i.e. beach volleyball, soccer, fire shows, Mexican dancing, etc...) At the same time, it was quiet after 10 pm for good sleeping. We could not have had a better time. Shawn and his wife are very easy to work with and are very prompt in dealing with any concerns. I will definitely be recommending this place to family and friends.
