About Erik Larsen

We have lived in this house for 10 years and love the location and the Lake. We recently purchased another house in the area and decided to make it our full time residence. We can't let this property go because we love it so much, so we have decided to rent it for the summer season. I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as we have.

Erik Larsen purchased this house in 2004

Why Erik Larsen chose Lake Charlevoix

This property is unique in that it is a very private setting for being water front. It has a nice natural sand beach and is close to many activities.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

I really don't want to review this home because I don't want others to find out about it😬 This is our second time at the Cove and we are going back in September of 17 This is our second time here . We are going back in September and have already booked two weeks in 2018. It is perfect for our family (2 of us and our GoldenLab). It is private but the neighbors are great. Lake is quiet. Good for kayak or canoes. House is very well equipped but we bring kitchen things from home we like to use. Weber grill works fine. We do not use hot tub but it works and

It's clean. Eric, the owner, is a real sweetheart and is available if you need him. This house and it's property is a real jet.

Fantastic Summer Lake Home Experience

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this property and loved every minute of it. It's private and situated perfectly roughly in the middle of the lake and there is not much boat traffic. We spent our days relaxing in the back yard, enjoying fishing, sand, swimming, boating, a hot tub and a fire pit. We grilled a few nights a week (there is a gas grill) and visited nearby restaurants and attractions. It was a very relaxing experience. The property is easy to get to and is excellently maintained by Erik and Linda, the owners. Erik was there to greet us when we arrived, showed us how everything worked and was very responsive when we had a few questions during our stay. The house itself is very nice, clean, roomy, and has all amenities that a family would need (laundry, kitchen, cable, wifi, etc.). The kitchen was stocked with silverware, spices, paper towels, foil, soap, dishwashing liquid, etc., so it was very renter-friendly. There were extra towels, bedding, cups, plates and more. For anything else, there is a big food store about 3 miles away, so we went there to get some fresh vegetables, fruits, and meat to cook out when we didn't want to go to a restaurant. Fishing was great right off the peer (bait can be bought at a gas station a few miles away) and we caught some good size pike and bluegill that we ate on a couple of nights. The property has a fire pit and big stack of wood that Erik said we could use at any time, which was fantastic. We initially worried that there would be a lot of mosquitoes next to the lake and in the woods, but we hardly saw any, but we did see plenty of fish, turtles, otters and swans. There are lawn chairs and tables for relaxing right next to the house and next to the lake, there are some on the balcony as well. The boat was easy to use. In short, this property has it all for a nice summer lake home getaway, all you need is a nice warm weather. Highly recommended!

I've rented several homes in the last 20 yrs but this place exceeded all expectations. It's the only place in Michigan I've found with a lakefront that offers complete privacy and allows dogs. Super clean and the owner is cool as ever! We booked again for next year and hope to continue enjoying this piece of heaven for years to come. 😊

Relaxing and beautiful

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful location on a quiet lake, and the pontoon boat was exactly what we needed. There were four adults and two kids (4 and 12) in our party and the house worked great for us. Two kitchens, one on the lower level, make combining 2 families easy. Erik was fantastic to work with. We all highly recommend this place!

GREAT TIME "UP NORTH"

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 and our dog, Merle, had a wonderful time at this lake house. Plenty spacious, comfortable, with a modern kitchen. We had a lot of fun on the pontoon and hanging at the beach. The water was warm and very clean. I tied up my large float to the dock and floated for HOURS! Our dog had the time of his life. It was private and we really were able to relax and enjoy one another. My 9 year old and 12 year old caught TONS of fish off the docks. They both caught nice size bass, crappie, small perch and a turtle (but he is good to go!). We had a wonderful fish fry lunch from all of their hard work. We went to Boyne City and ate at Red Mesa after zip lining - both super fun! We went up to Lake Michigan Beach in Charlevoix (sp?) and really enjoyed that area as well. Both were within 20 minutes drive and the drive was scenic. We also went into East Jordan for groceries and ate at Murphys and burger and beer night and we were not disappointed. We spotted two bald eagles in both the morning and at dusk. Loons, duck families, swans....beautiful country up there - and this coming from a Buckeye girl! We could have easily fit another family of 4 with us in the house. OH - and the hot tub was great on those chilly nights! We would not hesitate to come back. The owners were very easy to work with and they keep their place in tip top shape! Thank you!!
