Overview

About the property

2 Bd/2 Ba .. Everything You Could Want to Escape the Ordinary

Timeless style and good taste abound at the Sonoma Gracious Getaway.

You'll notice the peaceful, quiet neighborhood as soon as you turn down the lane! The tree lined cul-de-sac is just one of the many charms of this home. This home as the perfect retreat, a place to relax and unwind after a day of Sonoma fun. Please note: late-night outdoor activity is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

Open the front door and take in the living room's breathtaking floor to ceiling imported limestone fireplace ... then step into the fully equipped gourmet kitchen to find every cook's culinary need anticipated and filled.

The beautiful adjoining solarium is bathed in bright sunlight and beckons you to read an interesting book or magazine – or just take a restful nap.

Three steps down to the rear flagstone patio there’s a 5 burner Charbroil gas grill and stylish teak furniture –dining set, conversation set and 'couples bench' -- all with comfy pillows. Colorful market umbrellas will keep the hot, mid-day sun at bay. But after the sun sets, the flagstone patio becomes an enchanted setting with twinkling Tivoli string lights. On chilly nights warm yourself under the two propane patio heaters or just thoroughly relax in the gazebo-covered, 4-person Fantasy Spas hot tub with a soothing waterfall feature.

Upstairs in the loft you can take in a wide variety of cable shows on the 50” Panasonic smart flat screen television. And if you prefer, dozens of classic and popular DVD movies are available for your viewing enjoyment.

In addition, high speed internet makes surfing the web on your laptop or tablet a breeze. If you just can't get away from work, a comfy chair and desk are provided. Key-less entry and Xfinity total home comfort system makes it easy to control central heating and air-conditioning as well as some lighting from the simple-to-use console.

When the star-filled wine country sky tells you you're finally ready for a truly relaxing night's sleep, both bedrooms are outfitted with brand new, top-of-the-line Sealy Posturepedic queen mattresses and 400 thread count sheets. Extra pillows and blankets are conveniently available in both bedrooms for your sleeping comfort.

Enjoy a large rain shower head in the master bedroom's shower. The second bathroom has both a bathtub and shower. In both bathrooms you'll find Paya organic bath gel, shampoo and conditioner as well as thick, fluffy towels and washcloths. Hair dryers, ironing board and iron, razors, sewing kit and other amenities are also available.

For early risers, grab a quick cup of coffee from the Keurig or fill the French Press and take it out to the front yard teak bistro set to enjoy the sun rise.

Before heading out for the day's adventures, create a delicious breakfast in the dream wine country kitchen.

Begin the day tasting at some of the country's best wineries. Fill the house picnic hamper for an easy, alfresco luncheon. Spend the evening at a world class restaurant OR gather ingredients at either of Sonoma's farmers markets or one of our local upscale grocery stores (Whole Foods or Sonoma Market) and make your own dinner at the Sonoma Gracious Getaway. Don't forget to garnish with fresh herbs grown just outside the solarium door.

As a precaution, we do ask that our guests purchase the minimum level of Property Damage Protection from CSA. A security deposit will be held in the event of any noise complaints.

Beautiful, quaint property.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this property with another couple for a weekend away and it was perfect for what we were looking for and just as the description states. The hot tub was a nice touch and provided something different to do after wine tasting. There is zero activity allowed after 10pm so for those who want to stay up partying a little later, I would steer clear from here. The house is a 10 minute drive from the Sonoma Square, which has restaurants, shops and even some tasting rooms. We went there both days we were in town. We spent 1 day in Napa, which was about a 40 minute drive. We were able to get ubers pretty easily and used these all weekend. Would definitely recommend this property to someone looking for a quiet, relaxing weekend!

Very Clean and Comfortable Home in an Ideal Sonoma Wine Country Central Location

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at this property in mid-May 2017 and would recommend the home to anyone visiting the Sonoma Wine Country region who is traveling in a smaller group (3 to 4 people). The home was extremely clean and kept up very nicely. The surrounding neighborhood was quiet and in a good central location, within a 15 or so minute drive to Glen Ellen and less than 10 minutes to the Sonoma Square area. This is ideal in terms of location, because you can easily visit the vineyards on both sides of Sonoma (north and south of the Central Sonoma Square) and also venture up to Kenwood or even the Russian River Valley where there are some excellent places to check out. The kitchen was spacious, open, and up-to-date, and the main living room had some nice views of the hills off to the east where you can see the higher elevation vineyards off in the distance (so a great view). Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and spacious and beds were comfortable. The backyard patio was great for sitting and enjoying a late afternoon glass of wine and a plate of olives and cheese or for enjoying a nice dinner after a pleasant day of visiting vineyards, hiking in one of the many nearby state or regional parks, or doing some biking in the area. If we are back in the Sonoma area in the future, would definitely stay at this property again!

Perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

We have rented a lot of homes over the years, so I won't lie I was a bit standoffish at all the "rules" and extra deposits we had to give. I had not ever experienced that before in any home I have rented. HOWEVER, once we stayed in Vicki's lovely home, its obvious why these rules are in place. I am glad I got over my hesitation. Trust me, you will be too.

My husband and I stayed in Vicki's lovely home to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Since having our kids we haven't traveled much on our own, so it was kind of a big deal to us that it be perfect and special. We could not have chosen a better place to spend our rare adult weekend away. It was a rainy cold weekend and that didn't matter one bit, this home was so perfect we were content to never leave the house. We both love to cook, and this kitchen could not have been more amazing. We needed nothing.

The upstairs loft was perfect for morning movie viewing. What??!?! Parents lounging watching movies and drinking coffee all morning??? Yep! And this was the perfect home to do that! The beds were so amazingly comfortable, the sheets and bedding were top notch. The bathroom was lovely. The sun room and yard?? Beautiful!!

And clean??? Yeah this house was spotless.

Seriously the best weekend this girl has had in a very long time. Cannot recommend this home enough. And while there is room for a family, or two couples, I personally felt it was best suited for one couple looking to get away. Can't wait to visit again. Thanks Vicki for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Absolutely lovely property, but 4 adults was a stretch

  • 4 of 5

The house itself is the nicest VRBO I've ever stayed at. Very nicely appointed with amenities that make it so comfortable. It truly feels like a home and not a rental. The kitchen is wonderfully stocked. The location is a mile or so off the Sonoma square, but was a fine base to drive to wine country.

The biggest, and only real negative, was that it felt a bit tight for 4 adults. The hot water gave out after 2 showers each morning. Increasing the capacity of The tank would be a huge benefit as we were quite mindful of taking short showers and not otherwise using hot water before or during. Also, the hall bathroom was nice, but lacked any counterspace, which was a negative as well.

But overall the experience was very positive!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review and we're delighted you had a great time. The hall bathroom (or second bedroom bathroom) does lack the counter space you mentioned. I imagine every property has a shortcoming or two. We had a brand new, top of the line 40 gallon hot water heater installed in November 2016 so it was of concern to me that you said you ran out of hot water. That should be more than enough for all hot water needs at the house. After your comment we asked our plumber to check things out and he said everything is fine. I know it does take some time for the hot water to get all the way from the garage to the master bathroom even with wrapped pipes. And since the ultra modern controls in the master bathroom can be somewhat confusing, we have a diagram in the Guest Guide to make sure our guests know which way to turn the handle to get the hot water. Appreciate the feedback!

Great little place to stay!

Communication with the property was excellent, location also a plus. They are strict on their rules but that's why the place is so nice! Kitchen fully stocked with utensils and the coffee pot was awesome! Definitely recommend!
