Loved it

  • 5 of 5

Perfect air conditioned suite located in East Austin. Don't worry about reviews that question the neighborhood - it's totally fine. We stayed over a week, often did the 45-minute walk downtown (we're a family of 3), walked to restaurants, cafes and shops in the neighborhood - it's up and coming and when it gets there, will be super-hip. Only downside of our stay was issues with WiFi, but whatever.

We were concerned about the neighborhood. Once inside the studio apartment, the place was perfect.

Since we were coming from outside U.S. traveling thru the neighborhood was a bit scary at first. Once we got located, the apartment is as shown, new, and with everything needed. A bit confined since the blinds have to be drawn so as to not show the adjoining properties. It seems that the homes in the neighborhood are starting to be renovated and we expect that it will be more inviting in the coming future.

Other that that, the owners left us to ourselves, but were available when needed.

Owner's Response: Hi Vilma, Thank you for your feedback. Our family has lived in the neighborhood for 7 years and have never had a safety issue. East Austin is a vibrant, diverse, eclectic place near downtown in excellent proximity to the lake and all the exciting growth currently happening in town. It's no coincidence that one of the most popular restaurants in all the city- The Launderette- chose to have its location 1 block from our home! I am glad to hear you enjoyed the studio itself- we love the energy of the space very much.

Cozy centrally located studio near bike path

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I loved using your bikes. We rented a bike for our son from a nearby shop. The easy access to bike trails was one of the best things about staying here. We had some amazing rides. We also loved the central location. We played ping pong in the garage. It was nice to be able to park our car in the garage too. Our son slept on the futon. The studio was the perfect size for our family of three.

Hidden gem

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful little garage bungalow! Simply done, yet everything we needed was available. Impeccably decorated and kept.

Our daughter slept in the small closet that has been turned into sleeping quarters--she LOVED it (she's 12).

The location was excellent, allowing us to walk to east side venues. The owners were very polite and gave us our space. The garage itself was fantastic--space for our rental car, the offer of bikes (complete with locks), and a ping-pong table. A stone's throw to the trails, too.

You can't go wrong if you're looking for a cozy place to sleep at half the price of a hotel and parking.
