About Andrew and Sabina Soloway
We are from the NY metropolitan area and found Tilden Pond one summer after renting in the Mid-Coast region for years. It has become a haven for us and our children. A great place for all of us to unwind.
Andrew and Sabina Soloway purchased this Cottage in 2005
Why Andrew and Sabina Soloway chose Belmont
After visiting family for many years in the Mid-Coast region and having gone to college in the Northeast it felt natural for us to find a home in the beautiful state of Maine. The warm waters of Tilden Pond in conjunction with ALL the activities and attractions the area offers make this spot so special. We come up from the New York area as often as we can and look forward to sharing this beautiful home with you.
What makes this Cottage unique
The views from every window, being right on the water, the unmatchable local produce and the low key approach to life have made our home on Tilden the perfect getaway destination. Come listen to the loons and spot the eagles soaring overhead.

We couldn't love this home more. The view of the water is endlessly changing, the home is phenomenally comfortable, and we come back every time from being there completely refreshed. I could go on, but...rent this house. Perfection.
We love this house so much that we have rented it for three years in a row!
We love this house! This is our annual retreat for peace & solitude. It is ideally located to take in the sites, however we love the house so much we rarely leave. The boathouse deck is perfect for coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening. You can watch the eagle fly over and hear the loons call out. Our favorite pastime is paddling around Tilden Pond or just watching the leaves change. We built a fire in the fireplace every evening. The owners are quick to respond and wonderful to work with. We feel like they are old friends. Burt is knowledgeable about the area as well as the history of the house. The simple beauty and charm of this house has made it our family tradition, hopefully for years to come❤️
An excellent home at a beautiful location
This is truly a beautiful home with a wonderful view. The dining room, screened porch, and boathouse, in particular, offered incredible views of Tilden Pond. The home offered much privacy, peace, and quiet.
The kitchen is also quite well equipped (including a dishwasher), and it is a great help having laundry and 2 bathrooms in this home. The master bedroom is also quite isolated from the rest of the house, which might be nice for many.
There are a few things that should be noted, though, not intended as a knock on a great property, but is worth knowing up front:
First, sheets are not included at this time, so you will need to pack sheets unless otherwise indicated. Many of the towels, which are provided, are older and some were a little musty, so you might take some towels, too. Second, much of the furniture sits rather low to the ground. If you are tall or have mobility issues, you should be aware. Lastly, the instructions require the use of 1 ply TP due to the septic system, so you lose a little bathroom luxury from what you might be used to.
Again minor notes that do not demerit the property in any way. We thoroughly enjoyed our time, and will definitely return to the Belfast area.
While the hosts live out of town, there is a very helpful caretaker that lives locally. He was there in minutes when we noted that the boiler (which supplies both heat and hot water) went down and had it running again in minutes.
Bliss In Belmont
When you do not want to leave your vacation rental home, you know your time away has been more than you could have hoped for......
There was so much to enjoy; the weather was great, the home warm and welcoming, the property, private, and the Belmont/Belfast area, one of our favorites.
We hope to return in 2019 and look forward to an even longer stay!

I'm reluctant to review this gem because I really don't want anyone else to know about it.
It is the most beautiful, peaceful, vacation home I have ever been in, by far. The open kitchen, dining room, living room and screened porch overlooking the water work together as if an ancient master of feng shui had made the pilgrimage from Shaanxi province and conjured it up himself. Except it's all Maine, the best of Maine.
Every time I walk in the house I feel so relaxed and at home that even driving the four short miles to the Belfast and the ocean, or the three miles to the gas station on Lincolnville Road with 24 flavors of soft-serve, just isn't that important.
My family has been there twice in four years and we've had a wonderful time both times. We used all three bedrooms and the bunkhouse this year, plus the canoe, the kayak, and the raft. We watched a line of 26 geese swim by in the evenings, listened to the loons and the frogs, saw a huge bald eagle at the top of a pine tree, and also did all the various things people come to Maine to do like hiking, eating lobster, visiting Bar Harbor and Cadillac Mountain and playing in the ocean waves.
There aren't many places like this...
This is a beautiful property with a little magic in it, as the best places are. The views are captivating, the home is comfortable and clean in addition to being beautiful, and there is plenty of space for each guest to have their own space to enjoy it. The wildlife is spectacular: loons, hummingbirds, flycatchers even an bald eagle or two. And stars like the desert. Really, quite wonderful. And if that wasn't enough, it's an easy drive to Belfast, or Camden for dining or shopping. We were very sad to leave!
The location is ideal for exploring the mid-coast region if you can tear yourself away from the lake. Minutes from Belfast and a short hop to Camden, Lincolnville, Rockport, Rockland, and Searsport. Outdoor activities abound: hiking in Camden Hills State Park, Acadia, biking on local scenic roads, sailing and exploring Penobscot Bay. Shopping, fine restaurants, museums, galleries, theaters, and cinemas are all within easy reach. An unending array of activities are yours to enjoy.
