Come to Eureka's Victorian seaport, in the heart of California's Redwood Coast and enjoy our Grand Victorian home. This historic beauty was originally built in 1887 for a Sea Captain by a master shipbuilder. It has been lovingly restored by a Navy family, keeping its Victorian Virtue but christened with nautical charm. A lovely garden in back fully compliments the restorative nature of this home. Just a few blocks to historic OldTown, including shops and restaurants; but located in a quiet, residential neighborhood. The Ship's Inn, a stand alone vacation rental, offers a peaceful retreat for adventurers to the redwoods, beachcombers, art buffs or outdoorsy folks.

The home was transformed from a Bed and Breakfast to a vacation rental. You will enjoy all the charm of a well cared for home and the privacy of a vacation rental.

A quick walk to old town and centrally located near all of the Northcoast's attractions.

This beautiful home boasts 3 bedrooms, 1 king master suite, 1 queen suite and the "rose room", a queen room fit for royalty with it's own bathroom just across the hall.

Each bathroom has a clawfoot tub with a shower combo and there is a 1/2 bath down stairs for convenience.

The Inn has a huge kitchen, a game room and 2 more formal parlors.

About Heidi Benzonelli

This is Heidi's 4th local vacation property, all have their own unique charm. An Engineer and Building Scientist by trade, Heidi is the Owner of Eureka Vacation Rentals and the President of Westside Community Improvement Association, a neighborhood group that is resurrecting an abandoned neighborhood school (Iefferson) and building a free public park and community center just down the street from this home.

Heidi has a commitment to neighborhood improvement and historic preservation which is exemplified by her properties and her work.

Why Heidi Benzonelli chose Eureka

Heidi owns the Pink Craftsman nextdoor and could notbear to see this one stand empty ornot be loved. The 2 properties (the Pink Craftsman and The Ship's Inn were historically adjoining properties, built by the same master shipbuildier and owned by the same family. It only made sense to adopt the Ship's Inn into the Eureka Vacation Rental Family

What makes this estate unique

The hidden treasures of this home are in the details of the wood work, the beautifully preserved woodwork and Victorian Craftsmanship.

Clean, spacious and walk to Old Town

  • 5 of 5

Definitely a great value gem in Eureka. We stayed for a few nights very comfortably. though old (of course, it's a Victorian!) the house was very clean. It's in a convenient location. It was a fun house to stay in.

Great spot for a family vacation

  • 5 of 5

The Ship's Inn is a great old Victorian, spacious, warm, and very well suited to our three generation Thanksgiving family celebration. Great location within easy walking distance of downtown. Beds are very comfortable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our five nights and made some great memories as a family!

Memorial Stay

  • 5 of 5

Myself and a few family members stayed at The Ships Inn in Eureka, CA and it was great. We were there for a Celebration of my sisters life and after all the emotions and dealings with the event it was nice to go back to the Inn and enjoy time with family and friends without any hassles in this beautiful, comfortable, clean and nostalgic house. We had everything we wanted and needed for our stay in Eureka. Thank you so much and will stay again if the need arises. DMC

Beautiful old Victorian, needs some love

  • 2 of 5

This large old Victorian with large rooms, high ceilings, period wall paper was once very beautiful. Currently, the plumbing has been updated and there are adequate dishes and pans to cook. There are no wine glasses or placemats and the tabletop in the kitchen is in serious need of refinishing. There are two wires sticking out of the wall in the kitchen. We had to spend an hour cleaning the refrig before we could put food in it. The lighting is very inadequate with many bulbs out throughout the house (9 of 17 in the entry hall). It is not possible to read in bed an any of the bedrooms. Two broken down chairs in the front parlor were so badly shredded by a cat that the stuffing was coming out. Ceilings have cracks and peeling paint which is tolerable in this old house. The owner needs to check on her cleaning staff. They aren't doing their job. It wouldn't take a lot to repair the problems and once again there would be a lovely old Victorian, full of charm and history in a location that is central to Old Town. Meantime...

Charmed by this Victorian!

  • 5 of 5

My family of seven stayed three nights in this beautiful Victorian home in June. It was spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated with charming details throughout. The kids absolutely loved it, especially the claw foot tubs and ship's wheel in the entry. It was centrally located near Old Town -- plenty to do and see -- but close enough to the redwoods, Victorian town of Ferndale, and Trinidad to be our vacation hub. Heidi was a pleasure to rent from. She checked in with us occasionally and made sure our needs were met. We asked for a roll-away and it was made up and ready for our arrival. She also asked for our input to make it even more comfortable for future guests. Our only disappointment was a lack of kitchen supplies for cooking easy meals, but I would assume that those things have been attended to since our departure. If traveling on the north coast again, we would be sure to make more memories in this home!
