About Eleanor

We built this secluded cabin to enjoy the fresh mountain air and breathtaking beauty of western North Carolina. Getting away from the hustle and bustle of more harried city environs provides an important life affirming respite for us. We hope you enjoy Spillcorn Falls as much as we do!

Eleanor purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Eleanor chose Blue Ridge Mountains

Growing up in Eastern Tennessee means you are never far from the mountains. I had this property for over a decade before I finally took the step to build the cabin. Nothing fancy, but a comfortable spot to be nestled to enjoy the surroundings.

What makes this cabin unique

The front porch is our favorite place to hang out. A quiet nap on the daybed after a day of hiking or gathering for a drink before dinner, everyone gravitates there. No wonder-the magic sound of the falls makes you feel you are right in the middle of nature. And you are!

Beautiful cabin and setting!!

  • 5 of 5

We vacationed at this cabin last year and loved it so much we returned this year. We absolutely love the cabin, it's beautiful, well furnished, tastefully decorated and clean. The setting is wonderful located in the woods by a stream. We toasted marshmallows by the fire pit, enjoyed the large screened in porch. The area also has lots to do. We went zip lining (your recommendation), white water rafting and also ventured to downtown Marshall to Zuma Coffee for blue grass music and watching the locals dance. What fun. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful cabin. We have recommended this cabin to our friends.

The best of the best vacation rental!

  • 5 of 5

This was by far our favorite rental we have ever stayed in. It was a quiet, magical, and restorative weekend for our hearts! The water was amazing, and we could listen to it while we slept at night. The home was impeccable. It was so beautifully decorated and the beds were so comfortable! The covered porch was perfect for some cozy reading, and we had a fire in the fire pit right next to the rushing river. Thank you for all of the love and care that you put into your home. It is the perfect retreat, and we look forward to returning many times each year!

Peaceful Retreat

  • 5 of 5

There are so many good things to say about our stay at Spillcorn.. First it was immaculate, everything was so fresh and clean. The beds were so comfy and the sound of the creek outside made for the perfect combination of peaceful rest. Decorated with such good taste and everything you could need is right there at your fingertips. My favorite spot was the daybed on the porch, it was perfect for reading a good book and a glass of wine. If you are looking for a location to get away from everything, Spillcorn is the place to stay. I would recommend this property for weekend away with your significant other, girlfriends or family, it has something for everyone..

Really Great House in a Very Secluded Location

  • 5 of 5

The Spillcorn house is very nice. I spent 6 days there with my family, including 2 children. The property is a great place to explore and extremely secluded. The house itself seems relatively new and was built with great attention to quality and functionality. We found the house to be super comfortable and well stocked - at no point were we looking for something or feeling like the house didn't meet our needs. The house is well located for access to many of the great adventures offered by the mountains of North Carolina. But, be prepared to spend a decent amount of time in the car to move around. The house is a 25 minute drive from the nearest town, and 45 minutes from Asheville. If anyone in your car is prone to motion sickness, come prepared with Dramamine, as the back roads are extremely windy. Overall, we had a really nice time and definitely recommend this property.

Wonderful cottage overlooking a stream

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is modern and located overlooking a stream. Morning and evenings were cool in mid-July. The inside of the cabin was inviting, clean and comfortable. We made all our meals in the kitchen and outdoor grill. The stay was most relaxing with hikes on the nearby AT in the day and fireflies and campfires at night. A truly wonderful location and properly all the way around.
