About Robert Adams

My parents, Dick and Pat Adams home away from home after retirement. Hard to believe that we have been bringing our families to D101 for almost 20 years.

Robert Adams purchased this condo in 1997

Why Robert Adams chose Florida

Recently re-energized with updates, some small for now, some bigger in mind. Always planned with easy, tasteful comfort for couples or families including young children to enjoy and relax. Typically our biggest decision of the day is pool? Or beach?

What makes this condo unique

The only unit at Blind-Pass with it's own private walk just steps to the pool. Less than a quarter mile walk to private beach, approximately 5 minutes, but who can resist stopping on the bridge to enjoy the view, the birds, the habitat. A very pleasant, easy walk.

Lovely condo

  • 5 of 5

We loved our condo at Blind was very comfortable, comfy beds, lovely pillows. We loved the fact it was so easy to get to the pool with young kids, having to pop back and forth for things. Overall we loved our stay here and would really recommend.

Sanibel is expensive though so would definitely advise buying groceries before getting into the island.

Terrific location

  • 5 of 5

We have been coming to Sanibel off and on for years and this was a real treat. This unit in particular is very spacious for a 2 bed - 2 bath. We were literally the closest unit to the pool which was great for having small children. The amenities were terrific - pool, tennis courts, grills, and a short walk to the beach. And the management office was extremely helpful with information and equipment (tennis rackets, etc.).

I worked with both the property owner and the management company on our booking and they made it very easy, especially when we arrived late at night. Our family enjoyed it so much that we already booked for next year!

This pool-side unit is steps away down a private path to the fantastic community pool, convenient during the day and lovely to look at in the evening when it is brightly lit up in blues and greens!. It is tough to sit still when you can walk to the beach over Clam Bayou and catch a lucky glimpse of a manatee, enjoy endless stretches of pristine beaches and sort through piles of shells to find your favorites or hop on the bike to explore the miles and miles of trails. So much to see, so much to do and so little time!!

The unit offers all of the comforts of home and is a perfect place to relax after the day’s activities. Despite the number of great restaurants on the Island we much prefer to take advantage of the Weber gas barbecues on site. The split floor plan makes it so easy to share with family and friends and the screened lanai with views of the pool is a really lovely outdoor space.

The owner was so helpful and really interested that our stay was a great one. We have been coming to Sanibel for years and years …. and years and have stayed in many of the units but from now on, we will check to see if D101 is available for our next visits.

A perfect stay

  • 5 of 5

Paradise! This vacation home provided everything my family needed to enjoy and experience the island. Quiet, unassuming, tropical surroundings, a private walkway to the pool and a short nature walk to the ocean gave us wonderful choices without getting in the car. Bike paths are everywhere and there is great food and site seeing for the days we ventured out. We will be back!

We had an awesome week staying at Blind Pass on Sanibel Island. It's perfect if you like the quiet, easy going, back to nature kind of place. It's beautiful with so much to see and do near by. We enjoyed shelling all over the island but some of the best shells we found were out on the beach behind the condos. It's a lovely walk to the beach through the mangroves, over the foot bridge, on to the flat sand. We enjoyed watching an Osprey nest just off of the trail all week and beautiful sunsets every night.

The condo itself was very spacious, well layout and stocked with everything we needed. We cooked most nights in or at the grills by the club house. This unit is right next to the pool yet very private due to the beautiful landscaping around the lanai. The pool is lit so beautifully at night! The owner was wonderful, quick to reply to emails and to check in to make sure everything was going well.

Some things we enjoyed while there were going through the J. N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge several times. It's so conveniently close by! We saw all kinds of birds, crabs, fish and two of the cutest otter. We also did a sunset cruise on Tarpon Bay and saw more birds and dolphin. But we saw dolphin most often down at the light house. There were a few that were chasing fish to the shore to catch and eat them. We got quite the show! We did go out for lunch a few times and really enjoyed the Bubble Room and the Mucky Duck.

I cannot say enough about the beauty of Sanibel Island! Our last visit was 26 years ago on our honeymoon. I don't plan on waiting that long to visit again!
