Come to the beach and stay ON the beach in our extra-large, beach-level, ground-floor condo unit at the Suntide II – literally steps to the beach gate access and all the fun!

This comfortable, well-furnished condominium is dead center on the first floor of the facility with a sweeping view of the beach, the waves and the volleyball court, also just steps from the heated pool and Jacuzzi spa, the sundeck and picnic area, near the butterfly garden, as well as the BBQ area -- all on the same level with access just outside your Gulf door and private ground-floor patio.

Be in the midst of the action at beach level! Enjoy the waves and beach. Plenty of rigging area to launch your kite and ride the waves for a down-winder or head out to the north flats, just 2 miles away, to kite board or windsurf on the warm, shallow water of the Laguna Madre (bay).

Ground level makes it easy to secure your gear in the condo and ample area to store it securely just inside the entry of the unit.

There is plenty to do right on the beach. Boogie board in the mellow surf or play in the receding waves, build a sandcastle or play volleyball. Launch your kayaks or SUPs and paddle in the surf. Play a set of tennis on the 2nd floor tennis court or catch the sunsets over the bay in the evenings.

Enjoy a breath-taking Gulf sunrise from the large, covered patio with your morning coffee or enjoy the twilight view with your evening cocktail. Or relax on the new, reclining sofa and love seat and watch all of the action from your living room window, watch the kite boarders sail by and keep an eye on the kids playing soccer or volleyball on the beach. Lay back and put your feet up, relax and watch the flat-screen satellite HDTV, with HBO and both VHS and DVD players, or grab a book and enjoy the Bluetooth music system. SPI public beach access number 16 ramp is within yards just north of the complex in addition to the direct access beach gate near the pool just steps away.

Our condo is well-decorated with beachy theme and a focus on comfort.

The large master bedroom suite is furnished with a king-size bed, flat-screen TV/DVD, large walk-in closet and new tile walk-in shower with grab bars and a bench seat.

The second bedroom has both a queen-size bed and a twin bed. The guest bedroom suite has large closet, an attached bathroom with a tub/shower combination as well as a flat-screen TV with DVD player.

This unit also contains a trundle-style daybed that sleeps another 2 in a private bonus area.

The living room couch and love seat actually fully recline but do not contain a sofa sleeper.

Ceiling fans throughout for your comfort plus the air conditioning.

Our well-appointed kitchen has a NEW stove and refrigerator with ice maker, all the cookware, serve ware, and kitchen appliances and array of small appliances (crock pot, waffle iron & food choppers) to make meal prep easy and convenient.

Also, a breakfast bar that seats 4, adjacent dining table seats another 6. The BBQ area is also on the ground level, where new CharBroil grills are provided for guest use.

Great location! Within walking distance of grocery store (1 mile), mini market, liquor store, shopping, several restaurants and beach bars. FREE transportation on the island and across the bridge to Pt. Isabel on the WAVE.

We live in California, but found ourselves vacationing in South Padre Island for the warm, shallow waters in the Laguna Madre and Gulf of Mexico, which are perfect for our favorite water activities: kite boarding, windsurfing, kayaking & stand-up paddle-boarding.

This property was the perfect location for us: Ground-level, great for gear storage and direct beach access (no elevator needed), beachfront makes for easy equipment movement for all of our toys, in the midst of all the beach happenings, with a sweeping beach view, mid-island near everything -- the absolute perfect location! Near the pool and spa and literally steps to the sand and warm Gulf waters from the patio door.

What makes this condo unique

The Beach! It is actually in our backyard and it's one of the largest beaches on the island! We recognized this truly unique and convenient location for kite boarding on the ground level with great proximity to the extra large beach and ample rigging area just steps away from the patio. It is also a perfect viewing area with a warm spa at the end of the day.

Suntide II has an extra large beach area to enjoy!

Another benefit is having the front office and maintenance staff on-site for easy check-in, towel exchange, and to help with any needs that should arise during your stay.

South Padre Island is the southernmost barrier island along the Gulf of Mexico developed for visitors' enjoyment. Its warm year-round climate attracts families and Winter Texans as well as Spring-Breakers, and its breezy afternoons makes it a premiere destination for kite boarders and windsurfers. It also is perfect for fishermen and nature lovers -- dolphin watching, eco tours, bird watching and turtle rescue.

The sweeping beaches allow for beachcombing, relaxing and sun-tanning, sandcastle building, volleyball, soccer and other beach activities. The warm water and mild surf invite boogie boarding, skim boarding, kayaking, surfing and stand-up paddle boarding.

On the Laguna Madre (bayside) there is a wildlife and bird-viewing aerial outlook as well as a sea turtle rescue and reserve. Various birds can be seen throughout the island with prominent flocks of pelicans overhead.

The bay also provides for various water sports, including bay fishing, parasailing, jet skiing, boating, sailing, and various windsurf launch sites, as well as horseback riding. Other charter boats, sunset cruises and watching the playful dolphins make for great enjoyment. The sunsets on the Laguna Madre are legendary.

South Padre Island hosts many bars and restaurants, with outdoor dining available, both fine dining and casual bayside dining and outdoor beach bars and bayside establishments. Shopping and souvenir hunting is abundant as well as other creature comforts, including spa and massage services.

The island also is home to Schlitterbahn water park for family fun and concerts, near the beautiful Isla Blanca Park. Mid-island is a mini golf, race cars and the bungee jump. (All seasonal. Please check dates and times.) Year-round entertainment includes a multi-screen cinema, bicycle and cart rentals, as well as SUP and kayak rentals, plus the turtle refuge, nature center, and birdwatching. Always activities at the convention center!

The WAVE is SPI's shuttle bus provides FREE transportation to travel around the 2-mile-square town or across the bridge into Pt. Isabel and back.

Nearby Pt. Isabel has a lighthouse viewing platform and tour, museums, a small aquarium, more shopping, more dining, charter boats, pier fishing and golf.

There is no shortage of activities in the South Padre Island area!

Great place!

Suntide II staff are amazing! Very helpful, kind, respectful. Suntide II grounds are spotless. Our condo was very spacious and comfortable. We were on South Padre in March which is a high time for college spring breakers. If you are not a college student, I do not recommend coming in March. It was very busy and difficult to get around the Island. Other than the timing, I highly recommend a visit to South Padre and to Suntide II. The beach is fabulous, both pool and hot tub are clean, warm, inviting with comfortable beach chairs. Go fishing with a guide. Try fishing off the pier in Port Isabel. Eat at Blackbeards, Gabriellas, Burger Fi. Don't eat at Whataburger or Louies. Go to the sea turtle rescue center and the Birding Center. Go to the north end of the island and walk on the sand dunes. The Blue Marlin IGA grocery store on the Island was very accommodating for groceries to have in your condo. You'll find all the food there that you want/need. You can buy beer and wine there, but if you want liquor have to go to a liquor store.

Great location - nice and comfortable unit - wonderful staff!!!

This location on SPI is perfect, and the condo is very well kept and comfortable!! It is exactly as it is represented in the listings. The owner is highly thought of in the community, and cares that those who stay have an enjoyable experience. The staff at Suntide II show a tremendous amount of interest in making sure that you have everything you need for an enjoyable stay. We've stayed here several times - and will continue to plan to return each year. Awesome!!!

The unit was nice but the mgmt is TERRIBLE

The condo was nice...great view and plenty of space but thats where the good things stop. The smaller room up front was an addition so its super hot (despite the ceiling fan). The grills on the grounds were DISGUSTING, Im not sure the last time anyone bothered to clean them. The hot tub was broken the entire time we were there and the onsite staff leaves ALOT to be desired. We asked for a fan for the front room on the first day and every subsequent day and they would say "sure we will bring you one right out"....I'm still waiting on my fan. The maintenance crew was nice and tried to be helpful but the front office workers couldnt care less and it showed. Also WARNING: THEY WILL DO ANYTHING TO KEEP YOUR DEPOSIT. ANYTHING. We had a bad storm the last day we were there and water came into the condo and soaked a floor mat. We were charged for that. Also we were charged for getting the kitchen towels dirty. When I asked they said they were damaged beyond repair. Seriously they werent even that dirty, these irreparable stains would EASILY come out in the wash (no bleach required). Oh and they charge for extra towles (mean while only giving us 4 towels for the 6 people staying there). In short the condo itself is nice but that is heavily out weighed by the onsite mgmt and lack of care they put into the rest of the property. Given all the sneaky fees and charging for dirty towels there are definitely better deals to be found on the island. I should know i go every year. This was my first and last visit to suntide II.

Owner's Response: We are surprised and sorry to hear that this guest did not enjoy her stay at Suntide II, as that is definitely not the norm. Our staff has been highly regarded by other guests as extremely friendly, helpful and responsive. So we would like to address each guest comment. Towels are provided for the number of registered guests, 6 sets, within the occupancy limit. Additional towels can be requested, and towels or bed linens can be easily exchanged on site daily. Damaged towels are subject to additional charge from our third-party laundry. The guest was, indeed, charged for towels which were destroyed by pet urine and feces, but no other charges. She was immediately refunded the remainder of her damage deposit in cash at check-out, as is our policy. The spa temperature is checked and recorded by maintenance staff 2-3 times every day. One evening it fell below standard, but maintenance took immediate action to get it back up to temperature by the next day. Our Charbroil BBQ pits are cleaned daily by maintenance staff. The extra bonus room in the condo is equipped with a ceiling fan, and airflow can be adjusted with the window/vent. We now provide an additional portable fan within the unit fir guest comfort. All guest requests are also logged, and there is no record of an additional fan request by this guest. Staff did report contact with the guest over parking issues, occupancy limits and visitors, but no other issues were brought up until check-out. At Suntide II we go the extra mile to assure our condo is comfortable, clean and the property is well-maintained and staffed to meet guests' needs to ensure every guest has a great time at the beach! Everything from easy on-site registration and towel exchange to documenting guest requests and pool temps is done to assure we provide top service to our guests, and previously have enjoyed entirely positive feedback.

South Padre SuntideII 9/24/15

We loved the room and the view was great. Unfortunately when we went , there was red tide. fish dead on the beach. Hard to breath, coughing. We stayed in a lot. Unfortunately we could really only walk on the beach first thing in the morning. beach side bars could not go to, due to Red tide, fireworks were also canceled. We were able to enjoy being outside on the bay. We really enjoyed Palm Street Pier. Live music was great and so was the food. We went to Louie's Backyard for happy hour, waitress was fun. We also went to Senior Donkey, bartender was nice, food not so great. Advice, buy what food are drinks you need at Walmart before you go over the causeway. Blue Marlin small grocery store on island is pricey. Again Suntide II was great. And office staff and matenance guys were all great and very helpful.

winter get away

It is an amazing place to stay. the ocean is right there. the kitchen has everything you need. It is clean and it has a lot of room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would come back in a heartbeat.Lots of places to eat or have happy hour and always live entertainment some where.

Great Location

This place has a great location being right on the beach and the Wave goes right by the condo. It is also right in the middle of the island so alot of stuff is within walking distance. It was also great with kids to be right on the main level and not have to run up and down stairs when we were going back and forth between the beach, pool, and our condo. The Condo check in process was very easy even though we got in after hours and they were very easy to work with. My biggest complaint was with the kitchen. Only two of the burners on the stove worked and the pots and pans were so cheap that they were all warped and difficult to cook with. It also wasn't very well stocked cause it didn't even have a griddle or muffin pan. That is one of the reasons we love staying in houses when we go on vacation so we can save money on eating out, but it was a bit of pain trying to cook in this kitchen.

I would recommend checking out BurgerFi for great food and a cool atmosphere and just a short walk from the condo.

Please be aware that maintenance issues can be addressed with our on-site maintenance crew so that repairs can be made during your stay to avoid any inconvenience. Cookware does take a beating or disappears during the busy summer season and is replaced every fall or as needed.
