Get the on-the-beach experience in our ground-floor, beachfront condominium at the mid-island, 45-unit Suntide II. This unit has all the FUN right in your backyard! The pool, spa and sundeck, along with the beach gate access, are literally just steps away. This is a prime location with a small grassy area for games, next to the fenced heated pool and spa, near to parking in the front, on the same level as the BBQ area.

This luxuriously furnished condo, set in a prime location within this mellow and friendly complex, boasts great Gulf beach views from the living room window or a comfortable chair on the covered patio or grassy area next to the pool.

Just outside your back door is the Gulf – ready for all activities: kite boarding, boogie boarding, skim boarding, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, surfing, volley ball, sandcastle building, strolling or jogging, beachcombing or bird watching. Enjoy tennis on the 2nd floor tennis court or watch the gorgeous sunsets over the bay. Bicycling and windsurfing are nearby.

Relax inside the comfortable condo and watch the flat-screen HD satellite TV, with both VHS and DVD player, Direct TV and HBO. Kick back and read a book or surf the web using the free secure wireless. There is also a hard-wired computer for guest use in the on-site front office.

The large master bedroom is furnished with a king bed and has a large walk-in closet and a remodeled bathroom with a large walk-in tiled shower. The second bedroom has both a queen and a twin bed with an attached bathroom with a new tiled tub/shower combination. Each bedroom has a flat-screen HDTV with DVD player. The living room sofa also contains pull-out double sleeper, and there is a leather bench containing a new pull-out single sleeper memory foam mattress.

The kitchen is well-appointed with all cooking implements, serve ware and appliances. BBQ grills are conveniently located on the ground level, where new CharBroil grills are provided.

Housekeeping services and beach chair and umbrella rentals are also available. The complex has a free on-site towel and linen exchange, laundry facilities, and front office on premises which is open 7 days a week during business hours with friendly and helpful staff and private security at night. Enjoy your music on the Bluetooth sound bar.

About Bill & Lyn Yard

We live in California, but found ourselves vacationing in South Padre Island for the warm, shallow waters in the Laguna Madre and Gulf of Mexico, which are perfect for our favorite activities: kiteboarding, windsurfing and kayaking. Now we are retired and are able to spend time on the island in the spring and fall.

Why Bill & Lyn Yard chose Gulf Coast

This property was the perfect location for us: Ground-level (great for gear storage), beachfront with easy beach access and equipment movement, mid-island near everything -- the absolute perfect location! And the best location in the complex, near parking, and right next to the heated pool and spa. You can watch the kids in the pool while sitting on the covered patio. Also, this unit has a small grassy area for games adjacent to the patio. Literally steps to the sand and Gulf waters from the patio door.

We recognized this truly unique and convenient location for kiteboarding on the ground level with great proximity to the beach and ample rigging area just steps away from the patio. It is also a perfect viewing area with a warm spa at the end of the day.

This location is steps from all the action! No elevators, right on the beach and pool level.

Suntide II maintains a front office and maintenance staff on-site to make check-in and towel exchange easier and can help with guest needs during your stay.

South Padre Island hosts many bars and restaurants, both fine dining and casual bayside dining and outdoor beach bars and bayside establishments. Shopping and souvenir hunting is abundant as well as other creature comforts, including spa and massage services.

The island also is home to Schlitterbahn water park for family fun and concerts, near the Isla Blanca Park. Mid-island is a mini golf, racecars and the bungee jump. (All seasonal. Please check dates and times.) Year-round entertainment includes a multi-screen cinema, bicycle and cart rentals, as well as SUP and kayak rentals.

The WAVE is SPI's free shuttle bus transportation to travel around the 2-mile-square town or across the bridge into Pt. Isabel and back.

Nearby Pt. Isabel has a lighthouse viewing platform and tour, museums, more shopping, more dining, charter boats, pier fishing and golf.

Suntide II - awesome vacation spot

Unit 107 has been well maintained, and everything was perfect when we arrived. The unit is set up and supplied exactly as represented on the website. This first floor unit is the perfect location. The staff there was welcoming, and each time I ran into one of them there they always stopped to ask if everything was OK with our unit, and our stay there. Everything with the facility was great.

This was our 3rd visit to SPI and Suntide II, but we will continue to return here as often as is possible - we love the SPI culture!. I met families who have been coming to this condo for 15-20 years - and I completely understand why. Lovely place - lovely facility - wonderful staff - and unit 107 is an awesome unit.

South Padre Island is the southernmost barrier island along the Gulf of Mexico developed for visitors' enjoyment. Its warm year-round climate attracts Winter Texans as well as Spring-Breakers, and its breezy afternoons makes it a premier destination for kitesurfers and windsurfers.

The sweeping beaches allow for beachcombing, relaxing and sun-tanning, sandcastle building, volleyball, soccer and other beach activities. The warm water and mild surf invite bogie boarding, skim boarding, kayaking, surfing and stand-up paddle boarding.

On the Laguna Madre (bayside) there is a wildlife and bird-viewing aerial outlook as well as a sea turtle rescue and reserve. Various birds can be seen throughout the island with prominent flocks of pelicans overhead.

The bay also provides for various water sports, including bay fishing, parasailing, jet skiing, boating, sailing and various windsurf launch sites, as well as horseback riding. Other charter boats, sunset cruises and watching the playful dolphins make for great enjoyment. The sunsets on the Laguna Madre are legendary.
