Beat the traffic with Sunday to Sunday rentals! Beautiful 4BR, 2BA updated home less than a half-mile walk or bike-ride to one of the best kid's beaches on the Cape. Also only a little over a mile to Public Old Silver Beach and the Sea Crest Hotel. Situated on quiet dead-end street, Bedrooms 1 and 2 are standard size and sleep 2-4 people each (one room contains new bunk beds). Bedroom 3 opens up to a beautiful screened in porch to give you the optional feel of sleeping under the stars (sleeps 2-4). We recently put a new king size bed in here upon feedback from earlier guests. Bedroom 4 has its own private bathroom and is on a separate level for added privacy (also sleeps 2-4). Nicely designed open living room - kitchen - dining room concept gives this home a warm feel.
Enjoy all the comforts of home with laundry, central air, corian countertops, ceiling fans, flat screen television, internet and cable, dishwasher and disposal.
Excellent, flat side yard is perfect for wiffleball or relaxing, and the back deck / bar / grill area is the jewel of the property. Built-in jenn-air grill and outdoor television, along with industrial-grade air circulator and fire-pit make this a griller's dream. Top the night off by lighting the chiminea and roasting marshmallows with the kids and watching the stars.
Store your beach gear and bikes in the attached garage and walk or ride to kid-friendly New Silver Beach, only 1/2 mile away. It is fully life-guarded with an anchored raft to swim out to. Boating and water activities are offered at the harbor right next to the beach, along with tennis and basketball.
For a little more excitement, take a drive to Old Silver Beach a little over a mile in the other direction. Rent jet skis or enjoy a cocktail at the Sea Crest Hotel Bar.
Multiple golf courses are within a three mile drive, and both nearby Falmouth Center and Mashpee Commons provide more than their share of shopping, bars/restaurants and movie theaters.
Only a few miles to the Woods Hole ferry for a day trip to the islands and conveniently located over the Bourne Bridge to help avoid the Route 6 traffic.
Summer availability on calendar. Weekends, long weekends and weeks in off-season are also available and price is negotiable.
I live in Boston area and the family and I use the property for a few of the weeks each summer and some off-season weekends.
Jim Maher purchased this house in 2013
I booked this house for a girls weekend away and it was great. 8 of us went down to celebrate a 40th birthday and this turned out to be a great spot. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby (Falmouth center and mashpee commons were both good). The house had surprisingly good space and we all slept comfortably by doubling up. The only bummer was that the screened porch off the master bedroom was winterized so we couldn't use it. Overall, it was a nice house. Very clean and comfortable.
My wife, 3 small children and I had a great week in this house. The beach is amazing for kids and the weather during our week was perfect. It was an easy commute for me to shoot back to Boston mid-week for a night and then get back. We just booked our return trip in July and the kids are already excited for it.
We enjoyed the location of this home and greatly appreciated the approachability of the owner but were seriously hindered by the poor quality of all of the mattresses. Investing in some decent mattresses would make the home a definite return-to vacation spot. The sun room and yard were big plusses also, but tossing and turning and sore backs left us exhausted rather than rested.
