Great family get-away

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was in a great location with easy access to Duluth, there were activities for people of all ages to enjoy. Our group was 10 people, ages ranging from 93 to 1.5 and everyone left not wanting to go home quite yet! The lake was great for swimming and relaxing, the cabin had plenty of space for us all. I would definitely recommend this well maintained cabin to anyone!

Beautiful home. Everything was nice and clean.

  • 4 of 5

My family and I enjoyed our stay. It was a nice peaceful property. Loved the spacious divided family rooms. You can either hang out at the nice living area or the in the game room. It had a pool table, poker table, and play station 2. It even had a bar area, but we didn't use it. We also enjoyed the lakefront view surrounded by the gigantic tall pines.

I did wish there were better quality utensils to cook with and for serving. The ones that were available were plastic so during cooking, they got so flexible and was bending too much I kinda got frustrated. This was our first time renting a rental property, so for people like me, I would have appreciated if the property owner reached out to renters ahead of time and informed them of some things that are not provided and should bring. For example trash bags and toilet paper.

Other then this, we enjoyed our stay.

Owner's Response: That is a great suggestion, I added recommendations for personal items to think about for your stay to the listing and pre arrival communications. Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad your family enjoyed the property.

Stepping Stones AFC PARTY of 9 on vacation!!!

  • 5 of 5

We brought a group from our group homes and there was something for every single one of us. It is a beautiful home set in a quiet and private area with room to spread out. We were a little disappointed that it showed a swim raft, that we were looking forward to using. However it wasn't there, but we survived and it didn't stop us from having fun.

We choose to go without tv when we take our annual vacation, because we try to unplug (YES, unplug!!!). We had one stormy night and I thought, oh the game room has great seating, a nice big tv and HUGE selection of movies....back up plan, I'll do a movie night! I looked around at our group and my heart melted. Some were playing pool, some were reading their new books from our days out sightseeing, some were coloring, others were playing darts, some were looking at their cameras of the pictures they took and the laughter, the smiles, the enjoyment, the hard work that goes into pulling off planning a "perfect" vacation for 9 people....WAS ACHIEVED!!! My heart is full and we are blessed.

The house not only provided all of the necessities....pot, pans, silverware, dishes, grilling utensils, towels, washcloths, bedding, dish soap, hand soap and all of the little things that you don't remember to pack. It provided us a place where we created wonderful memories to fill our hearts forever.

We enjoyed the game room the most and spent much of our bonding and leisure time playing, pool. darts, joking around, games and singing. We liked being close to Duluth but away from the chaos. We brought kayaks and Island lake is absolutely beautiful to explore.

Rich and Julie responded back to us very quickly to answer any questions or solve any problems.

We would stay again and would highly recommend it to others.

First Family reunion in 8 years

  • 5 of 5

Our family came together from multiple states to enjoy this spacious well maintained home. The amenities and available entertainment within the house and property kept our family connected during our week long stay. We spent a lot of time fishing kayaking playing yard games and most of all enjoying the perfect game room. The house had everything we needed and the owners were very receptive and accommodating, making our stay perfect!! Thanks for everything!!

Fabulous Family Vacation Get Away

  • 4 of 5

We are a family of 14, 10 adults, 4 children ages 5 to 8. The cabin provided comfortable accommodations for all us. Each couple had their own space (bedroom) and there were plenty of beds and space for the children to sleep in their parent's room. The Game Room was a hit. We had a great time playing pool, games on the game table and darts. Besides being a beautiful room with a wonderful view of the woods and lake, it was our favorite gathering place for fun and good times. The pictures don't do the cabin justice. The cabin was huge. Another feature we liked was the separation between the game room and the living room. Each had a TV so the kids could be watching their show while adults were enjoying their favorites (not that they spent much TV time). The lake was great. Our 6 year old grandson caught a fish right off the dock and everyone enjoyed canoeing and swimming. We had so much land around us. It felt very private. The kids had a lot of fun finding all the faces on the tall pines also. The tree house was also a hit. The location was convenient to Duluth and other areas such as Gooseberry Falls. Make sure you stop at Betty's Pies for the most delicious pies you've ever had. You can also grab a bite to eat or go into Two Harbors. We celebrated my husband's 70th. birthday by chartering the Vista Queen. What a fantastic experience, delicious food, and wonderful service. Don't hesitate to stop at the corner bar and restaurant. The food was great! Most places we rent from always have some spices, trash bags, staples, etc. It would have been helpful to know this cabin didn't. We had to provide our own bath soap, dishwasher detergent, laundry soap, trash bags, food storage containers, etc. It's a tradition that my husband make the family favorite pasta and sauce dinner. This is the first time I had to buy a stock pot so we could make the sauce. We were also short on dinner plates, silverware, etc. Other than that, we loved the cabin. We would go back!

Beautiful cabin tucked away in the pines

What a great place to stay. The cabin had more space than we knew what to do with. Was easy to find and had everything we needed to have a quiet relaxing extended weekend.
