Fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

This house offers the terrific combination of being historically unique/beautiful with modern amenities that somehow don't detract from the quaint overall feel. It was a wonderful stop during our motorcycle trip up the Poudre River Valley. Very comfortable stay!

Pros: Sandy was very responsive and came to meet me with the keys less than 5 minutes after I called to let her know we had arrived in town. House is within easy walking distance of downtown restaurants, the court house, etc. Sandy also did a good job of making us aware of local events. We were able to take advantage of this by attending the Walden Hot Air Balloon Festival (which we'd never have known about otherwise).

Cons: I'll let you know when I think of one

Absolutely tops!

  • 5 of 5

The Rock House in Walden is one of the nicest rentals we've had. Yes, Walden is an out of the way place, small but friendly and clean. The house is just off the commercial street through town, across from the library and a beautiful courthouse, and behind the Family Dollar (the hopping-est place in town). The yard is impeccably landscaped with gorgeous flowers (in July/Aug when we were there) and the house is tastefully decorated, clean, thoughtfully stocked, and very comfortable, with good wifi and Direct TV. Sandy is absolutely the best, you know you're in good hands the instant you meet her. We used Walden as a jumping off point to explore southern Wyo and other areas in Colo. It was quiet and safe and peaceful. But we could have relaxed around the Rock House all day, and had a lovely visit! Hats off to Sandy!

Charming Historical Home

  • 5 of 5

The Rock House is centrally located in Walden, Colorado. It provided a quiet respite for me while my kids went camping. I certainly got the better end of the deal! I was able to enjoy the jetted tub on the main floor. It was quite warm during the days, but the cross winds flowed nicely through the upstairs windows, effectively cooling the bedrooms to a pleasant sleeping temperature.

All the comforts of home were wrapped into the sweet refurbished house. I cooked a complete breakfast for my wet campers in the fully functional kitchen, which was a nice surprise. There were enough pans, dishes and cookware to make the meal easy to handle

Thanks for the time in Walden. Except for our many new best friends (the mosquitoes on the lake), our time was precious.

Nicest place in Waldon

Check in was a snape. Caretakers met us when we arrived into town and gave us the keys. House was clean and well cared for. Bring a hair dryer and shampoo/conditioner.

Summer wouldn't be complete without a stay at the Rock House

  • 5 of 5

This was our fourth year for staying at this fabulous accommodation. Sandy and Charlie are still the best VRBO hosts ever and the Rock House is a wonderful respite after a hard day of trying to catch the big one at Lake John :). While the guys were fishing, my sister-in-law and I enjoyed our little-over-an-hour scenic drive to Steamboat and Hayden for the day. Looking forward to next year's stay.
