Lovely, clean spacious cottage close to beautiful Lake Huron

  • 5 of 5

We loved the large fully-equipped kitchen with lots of storage, and also the covered patio area with plenty of seating for all our family. We enjoyed eating several BBQ dinners there during our stay.

The owner Dan was very accommodating and easy to reach if we needed to contact him.

Our 3 year old grandchild loved playing in the sand area by the patio. Lots of toys were available for her too.

We took advantage of the pristine water in the lake and swam even though the water was cold at first (mid June). Sunsets were absolutely stunning as we walked along the water's edge in the evenings.

We shopped in nearby Kincardine and also joined in a couple local festivities, including the annual Teddy Bear Parade, which our grandchild loved.

The cottage was a great place for our family to be together for the whole week.

From Australia to Point Clark via Greenwich --for a great relaxing holiday

  • 5 of 5

Dan, The owner of this rental, was very accommodating with dates. We had to be mid week to mid week. The cottage was wonderfully set up for small children - toys, water play equipment, bikes etc. We felt very much at home with three under six. Almost did not have time to visit the beach they were so busy all day with the sand pit etc. The cottage was in a cul-de-sac so was very safe for the children to play on the bikes etc. The beach was easily access through a walkway between houses. there was a firepit, a bbq and a lovely patio with roof and mosquito nets. Plenty of space for a party.

I have recommended this cottage to all my daughter's friends with small children. The only handicap for them is the distance from Greenwich Connecticut to Kincardine. It provided a very relaxing and happy experience for all 6 of us from the oldest (72 years) to the the youngest(2 years) I think the array of beach equipment would also suit older children. Thank you very much to Dan for this great retreat.

A truly authentic cottage experience!

  • 5 of 5

Our family (2 adults, 2 toddlers) took a mini vacation to this cottage in Point Clark and had a wonderful experience. There were so many positive things about the cottage itself and the location. First off, this cottage is only 90 minutes from Waterloo. And there is no 400 or 401 driving to worry about.

This is a great place for families with young children. The beach is so close with an access path right across the street. The cottage is all on one level, there are toys inside for the little ones, beach toys in the shed, and a sand pit on site if you don't want to go to the beach. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, dishes, tea towels and things like dish soap, saran wrap, tinfoil, paper towels and basic condiments. The yard is large, and level with a fire pit. Many trees surround the perimeter of the property providing shade and privacy. There is a wagon available for your use to tote the kids around, along with life jackets, beach bikes, a jogging stroller, and lawn chairs for the wee ones. The gazebo is large and provides ample shade on a sunny day. Another feature of the place is no satellite or wifi. Yes, I said feature! My husband read an entire book in 3 days! I knitted and read, and in the evening after the kiddies were in bed, we popped in a movie. The place was tidy and clean when we arrived and Dan, the host, was only a phone call away.

Overall, I give this cottage 2 thumbs up. We will definitely be returning.
