I have been renting vacation homes in the Sooke area for over 10 years
Rob purchased this House in 2003
Why Rob chose Juan de Fuca
Because it is the best location the area has to offer. The house is designed so that almost every room has a view.
What makes this House unique
The garden level is a suite, separate from the main and upper floors of the house. It has its own kitchen, bath and laundry, plus a universal gym.

Gorgeous, well appointed home in a stunning location.
My husband and I and our extended family were at the Otter Point House for a family get together. We could not have had a better experience - ample space for everyone and every amenity we could have asked for. The location is incredibly scenic and peaceful.
Trip to Otter Point House
We had a family reunion here and had a wonderful time. The weather was beautiful in June. We saw a deer in the yard, otters playing along the shore, dolphins feeding, eagles, a seal making a meal out of a salmon and pods of killer whales 4 different times. Saw all of these right outside our windows and decks. How thrilling.
The house is very spacious and has everything you need for a wonderful stay. There were 10 of us ranging for 1 to 75 years old. Something do do for everyone. Many beaches, hiking trails, fishing, kayaking and much more.
I'm sure your family will love this location.

The most spectacular view, it is breath taking. I cant say enough what kind of view you get from this home. After 12 days you had to pry my hands off the deck railing because I didn't want to leave. Having its own cove with well built stairs down is such a bonus to this place. I cant say enough about how relaxed we felt after being there. Sooke is such a laid back place to relax. 10 minutes to town, some great places to eat if you don't want to cook in the well equipped kitchen. House is well equipped and if there is any thing you need its a quick phone call away. We will definitely be coming back to this gem.
This house was truly beautiful. Very spacious and great views. Close to groceries and restaurants. Enjoyed the walk to the water and walking along the rocks. Having the decks for sitting outside was nice. This place very comfortably fit all 7 adults. We had a great time watching the seals and exploring the area. Highly recommended.
Hi Tracey, it is very rewarding to learn that you had a good time at Otter Point House. Thank you for the nice review. I hope you come back!
Amazing, Amazing, Amazing
My family (two boys 9 and 6) and my brother's family (3 girls 11, 9, 6) stayed here in August of 2015 for one week. The house was a dream come true. My 9 year old commented that if he sat in the living room too long and stared out into the water, he almost got seasick because he felt like he was at the helm of a ship. The private cove is priceless. Even though the water was far too cold for the grown-ups, the kids frolicked in the cove everyday. The house was impeccably maintained and Rob was an extremely gracious and helpful host. He even rescued our runaway kayak for us. We went salmon fishing and ate our catch for a few nights and utilized the fully stocked kitchen (there are two of them) but we also ate out quite a few times in the area as well. Sooke has a disproportionate number of delicious restaurants for a town of its size. Truly outstanding trip all around. The path to the cove is a little steep and isn't for very small children or the elderly. Even with the older kids, some adult supervision is necessary to ensure that no one slips and falls into the water as it is very rocky and high terrain. But that is precisely what makes the view so spectacular. We really hope to return in the near future.
Sealife so close you could almost touch them.
The house itself is everything you could ask. Our group consisted of five adult couples and we had plenty room and plenty privacy. At all times of the day we could see seals, otters at play, and watch whale spouts in the distance. The best part was when we were watching spouts in the near distance and a whale breached what seemed like 20 feet from the shore. A fantastically beautiful site. All in all, a comfortable stay with more than we imagined.
Unparalleled natural beauty is evident from the vantage point provided by this Oceanfront home. Right next to the point of land called Otter Point, from which the area takes its name, this home has a privileged location. Otter Point Regional Park right next door is the only place in the area where you can cast a line in the ocean from shore and possibly catch a salmon. Even better, you can go fishing with a charter guide and fish in the waters right in front of the house. The area offers many other natural attractions: whale watching tours, beaches, hiking trails, the Sooke River Potholes, and the Pacific Marine Circle Route. This last is a scenic drive that takes you west to Port Renfrew, east through the Cowichan Valley, and into Vancouver Island's wine country. Wine tours are very popular too. You really cannot see it all in a week, but what a week it would be if you try!
