Vintage Beach House - Walk to Beach
Our family of four stayed over Memorial Day weekend and we loved it! The house is a charming original only steps from the very exclusive Emerald Bay Beach. We enjoyed the beach every day, as well as the pool, and easy trips into Laguna Beach for great dinners and to meet friends. We are already looking forward to our next stay.
The Location Simply Can't Be Beat
Yes, the house is a sweet, vintage beach house but in many ways it is refreshing to see an iconic home from the 50's still standing this close to such an amazing beach. If you go with expectations to enjoy the history and the beach beauty, you will not be disappointed. Three families shared this home with kids for Spring Break and we all had a great time. Great little yard for pets, too. The owners were excellent to work with. Very professional and got back to us immediately on any and all questions. In such an exclusive neighborhood, we wondered if renters might be treated 'differently' but everyone we encountered either at the beach, pool, gatehouse, etc. were super welcoming and friendly. If you have kids who get cramped in a hotel room, well behaved pets, love the beach- you can't go wrong with this sweet house.
Very close to the beach. Easy access to PCH. We had a great time.
Location, location, location!
We loved our stay! Its the perfect vintage beach house, sleeps lots of people, comfy beds, flat screen tv, all the amenities and steps from the beach! It's the best priced rental in emerald bay. I'd highly recomend it!
Best Beach in Cali
I grew up in Emerald Bay, and, for those who remember "E-Bay" before it was an online auction, you will agree that this is the best beach in the state. This house is just like the old days, before the sell out. We loved it and can't wait to come back!
Thank you. We feel the same way.
-location wonderful BUT, the property is lousy
The house hasn't been maintained
since the 1950's; it was abysmal and we were sorely disappointed. It was, quite frankly, hot and awful and many items in the home were in disrepair or tired/old. We couldn't sleep in any room but the back bedroom due to the heat and lack or cross ventilation, fans, A/C....anything to cool the place. The owner was prompt and courteous when working with us to secure the reservation. The location was an easy walk to the private beach. However, the house wasn't worth the money and I would not recommend it.
This is our family's beach house. We have pictures of the main rooms and the outside of the house on our listing. I am not sure how she misunderstood what she was renting. While it was built in the 1950s, it is clean, functional, and has such modern conveniences as WI-FI, cable, and flat panel televisions. There is only one other house that I know of in Emerald Bay that offers these types of vacation rentals, and they charge four times the rent. This is a very exclusive neighborhood with a private beach, parks, tennis courts, heated swimming pools, hot tub, manned guard gates, and hiking access. It is well worth the price.
Enjoy our family beach house in the gated community of Emerald Bay. The lot sits on the highly desirable Beach Side of the highway. You will have a fifty yard walk from the front door to the private beach, which includes volleyball, fire pits, lifeguards, and soft white sand. Play tennis with a view of the ocean or shoot hoops with the kids in Swanson Park.
Home to seven miles of coastline, Laguna Beach is a surf lover's paradise. The village is an artist colony, featuring many galleries and well-known festivals, including Festival of Arts, Art-A-Fair, and Sawdust Art Festival. The Pageant of the Masters, held during July and August, is internationally known.
Golfers can hit the links at several local courses.
Our house is located about thirty minutes from Disneyland, about fifty minutes from LEGOLAND, and about seventy minutes from Universal Studios Hollywood.
Fashion Island Mall is approximately fifteen minutes away and includes Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, and many specialty shops
Dana Point is approximately 20 minutes south and includes the Ocean Institute, with hundreds of marine animals and The Pilgrim Schooner; Catalina Express, for a day trip to Catalina Island; and many excellent restaurants.
