Interaction with Guests
We live in the building, above the garden apartment and we have a separate entrance. So we are close by in case of emergencies and if there are any problems but we will respect your privacy completely. We are accessible and reachable via phone, email and text. We work with an excellent and available local general contractor, if needed.
Hoboken is located across New York City on the left bank of the Hudson. Commuting to NYC is very easy - the bus to Port Authority (near Times Square) stops around the corner and takes 15 minutes to the city. Walk a few blocks north and you can take the ferry to Midtown or the Financial District, and walk a few blocks south and you can take the PATH train which runs 24/7 up 6th Avenue in Manhattan. But Hoboken itself has a lot to offer. Bwé Coffee is around the corner, four of the best restaurants (Anthony Davids, Elysian Cafe, Bin 14 and Amanda's) in town are literally on the same block as the apartment. From restaurants to sports bars and Irish pubs, Starbucks, Schnackenberg's Luncheonette to Carlos' Bake Shop ( the Cake Boss), we have it all, including a beautiful view of Manhattan.
Great transportation options are just steps away: Bus 126 to midtown Manhattan leaves around the corner (travel time 10 minutes to Times Square), ferry to World Financial Center and Midtown West is 10 minutes away, 24/7 PATH train to Manhattan a few blocks south of the apartment.
Other Things to Note
The brownstone apartment is three blocks from Stevens Institute of Technology, and just steps away from great restaurants, shopping, and transportation. It is on a quiet tree-lined street in a quintessential brownstone neighborhood, has a separate entrance and complete privacy.
I have been living in Hoboken, NJ for over 15 years. I live with my daughter and my husband. I have worked in Information Technology Industry for 15 years and I am now a professional oil painting artist. My husband is a college professor.
Nersel zur Muehlen purchased this apartment in 2008
Beautiful brownstone house built in 1890, original details, fire places, tin work, and great set up. Lovely backyard. Hoboken is a lovely town with everything you need within walking distance and its proximity to New York City is a huge benefit.
Hoboken brownstones provide quality, sturdy craftsmanship and comfortable living with beautiful, and functional kitchens, large bedrooms and the all-important closet space people need today. This provides a combination of both the classic in design and contemporary in technology, providing a great mix for the lifestyle of today’s busy family. Great convenience to have washer/dryer in the house and dishwasher. Our house is walking distance to everything my family needs. Quiet, safe and friendly neighborhood.
We love staying in this cozy little apartment. The tree lined streets and brownstones are beautiful. The location is close to Washington Street where you will find coffee shops, restaurants, salons, lots of shops. Manhattan is a short bus ride away or take the ferry if you like. Nersel is very accommodating and always responded quickly to any questions that we had!!
Property had everything we needed to settle in for a few weeks. It was comfortable and the location was terrific for our needs. We would recommend use for a couple or single with short term needs. Good restaurants and services in the area as well.
We recently stayed for 6 weeks in this cozy garden apartment. The location is convenient to coffee shops, restaurants, bus - only one block away from Washington Street. We felt very safe in this neighborhood of old brownstones. The hosts answered any questions that we had and were very accommodating. We've already booked our next stay!!
We found this little garden apartment met our needs completely, and the hosts were very helpful with our queries. We fully recommend it and intend to stay again on our next visit to Hoboken.
This little basement apartment is newly renovated and conveniently located to every service you could need. Transportation is very close and the neighborhood quaint.
Questions were answered quickly and clearly. Supplies missing were replenished immediately by the onsite owners...very nice!
All in all, pretty much an ideal stay. Would absolutely stay here again.
Property was as discribed. Apartment is small, but had everything that I needed for my 2week stay. Bedding was clean and comfortable. Hosts were friendly and helpful. The bathroom is functional but small. I would recommend this place for a single traveler. Bed/bath might be a bit tight for 2. Bed is a queen. location is fantastic. Nice neighborhood. I felt safe there-that is very important to me. You are very close to dozens of bars, restaurants, shops, groceries. Public transportation is easily accessible. I plan to stay there again.
