Charming House Under The Green Hill Of The Gianicolo
- english, italian
We are Andrew and Alice, born and raised in Rome. The house was initially great-grandparents Alice and then move on from generation to generation until the mother and then to Alice where she grew up and lived there until we got married and decided to move into a bigger house farther away from the center.
Andrea purchased this Apartment in 2001
Why Andrea chose Municipio I
We decided to settle in the country, and having the good fortune of owning a home in one of the most typical and oldest district in the city, we thought it would be nice to have the opportunity to meet and greet people from all over the world are curious to experience this angle of Rome remained true and unspoiled by time.
What makes this Apartment unique
The house is always bathed in sunlight and is located at the foot of the green Janiculum hill that can be seen looking out the windows of the hall. Just a few step from everything that is important and central, but at the same time placed in an internal street away from the traffic and bustle of nightlife.

Great location & apartment. Andrea is a wonderful host, he really goes out of his way to make sure you enjoy the apartment. Quiet street but very close to all the sights.
Wonderful host, beautiful apartment
The apartment was beautiful, well-equipped and comfortable. Everything we needed. A great oasis. And most of all, Andrea is a great host - we really enjoyed meeting him! And he was incredibly helpful - orienting us to the neighborhood, helping us with some tech difficulties, arranging transportation to the airport, etc. My only concern about the property was that the streets nearby felt isolated some nights - I would have felt uncomfortable at night had I been traveling alone. We would stay there again - Andrea is a wonderful host. Grazie mille!
No better place
This is one of the best finds we have had, and we have traveled the world. It's spacious, well appointed, conveniently located for transportation, stocked for the first time tourist, and supported by a couple dedicated to service. Close to the Vatican, a short bus ride to the Colosseum, walking distance to restaurants. To our friends who "only stay in four star hotels," we'll say, "don't come with us to Rome." We're staying at Alice in Trastevere.
Quiet, clean apartment with great hosts
This apartment is clean, quiet, cosy and conveniently located very close to the Vatican and the heart of Trastevere. Would be ideal for a couple or a family with one child as it's a one-bedroom with an additional pull-out sofa bed in the living room. Kitchen is small but serviceable. Main living area includes a couch, coffee table and a small table for eating meals. The best aspect of this rental is the hosts, Alice and Andrea, who went out of their way to make my stay easy and enjoyable. Andrea arranged to have a car pick me up from the airport, which was a huge help. When I arrived at the apartment with the driver, Andrea was there to greet me outside and gave me a tour of the apartment and also recommended a few restaurants nearby which were great. They gave me a local street map and pointed out some interesting sites to visit, including a nearby botanical garden, as well as the location of markets to shop for food. The apartment building is very quiet and the immediate area very residential, although you are within a half-mile walk to the heart of the exciting nightlife of Trastevere. I was there at the beginning of summer when Rome gets quite hot, but the apartment stayed cool and the air conditioner in the bedroom worked well. Wifi worked great. Highly recommended place.
Andrea has given great attention to every possible detail to make Alice in Trastevere a wonderful place to stay. He really cares about his guests, has great pride in his business and it shows. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!
Perfect apartment and location.
Andrea the owner arranged a car to meet us at the airport, which meant we arrived hassle free at the apartment, where he met us. Andrea was friendly and very helpful, marking information on a map and the apartment also had a notice board with restaurants marked, which was helpful. The apartment is clean, well equipped and it is described on the website and reviews. We found the location excellent, easy to get to the main sites, but being in Trastevere, there was no need to go anywhere else in the evening. We were not disappointed in Andrea's recommended restaurants and even went to one twice. We would definitely recommend the apartment for a stay in Rome. Thank you Andrea.
Trastevere is the medieval area of Rome, which is separated by the river Tiber , from the city center . Despite its small streets , many tourists are attracted by its charm when visiting the city. Trastevere is the only place in Rome that has survived to the Middle Ages , maintaining its local identity .
There are many places to see in Trastevere, including San Grisogono , Ponte Sisto, Santa Maria in Trastevere , Santa Cecilia , Tiberina Island , Janiculum Hill (Unesco World Heritage ) and many others. Trastevere is full of historical places where you can get an idea of the culture of the place ...
Today, the Trastevere district is among the most beautiful and characteristic areas of Rome , the center of nightlife , food and wine , open-air theater of marvelous squares ( Trilussa square , Piazza S. Cosimato ... ) , churches and historic streets , the emblem of the ancient and contemporary Roman world.
In the evening it is very pleasant to take a walk in the Testaccio area , the area enclosed between popular way Marmorata , the Aurelian Walls and the Tiber. You can breathe here an original : the neighborhood is packed with local entertainment , one of the most intriguing of the other, that the nights have turned the area around Monte Testaccio in a real nightlife Capitoline .
