About Andrea

We are Andrew and Alice, born and raised in Rome. The house was initially great-grandparents Alice and then move on from generation to generation until the mother and then to Alice where she grew up and lived there until we got married and decided to move into a bigger house farther away from the center.

Andrea purchased this apartment in 2001

Why Andrea chose Rome

We decided to settle in the country, and having the good fortune of owning a home in one of the most typical and oldest district in the city, we thought it would be nice to have the opportunity to meet and greet people from all over the world are curious to experience this angle of Rome remained true and unspoiled by time.

What makes this apartment unique

The house is always bathed in sunlight and is located at the foot of the green Janiculum hill that can be seen looking out the windows of the hall. Just a few step from everything that is important and central, but at the same time placed in an internal street away from the traffic and bustle of nightlife.

Guestbook comments from the owner

It has been a dream come true and we can't think of a better way to have celebrated our 30th weffing anniversary. We will never forget our week here. We very much appreciate your warm welcome when we arrived and have found your advice helpful on several occasions. You have kept in touch with us and been very kind during the week to ensure that our stay was going well. It make a great difference to the quality of our stay in a city to feel welcomed and settled into the apartment the way you did.

The apartment has been very comfortable and is in such a charming area. We have felt part of this peaceful and friendly community for a week. It's is sad to leave ! We would love to came back to Rome again some day and would probably want to stay in trastevere (exploring it is a holiday itself !) and we would have no hesitation in staying at the apartment Alice again. We would look forward to this. Thank you so much for helping to make a magical holiday that extra bit special with your kindness. We hope to meet you again in the future.

Our very best wishes.

A wonderful experience!

  • 5 of 5

Owners, Andrea and Alice arranged pick up at airport for us as we were arriving in the evening. They both met us at the apartment to explain the information about the apartment. They are kind and very helpful, pleasant and willing to help with any questions we had during our stay and arranging taxis for pick ups for our trips back and forth. We stayed here for 17 days. Traveling south one week for two days and north the next week for two days. Each time we were coming back it felt like coming home. This apartment is charming, comfortable, accessible to everything and equipped with everything you might need during your stay! Beautifully decorated flooded ,with gorgeous light and surrounded by the greenery of the Gianicolo ( a wonderful park within walking distance ). Close but not too close to the action in Trasrevere giving you the opportunity to appreciate the quiet while still having access to the restaurants, shops, street music and general bustle of this amazing neighborhood in the heart of Rome.

We were met by Andrea at the apartment at the agreed upon time. He was very friendly and very clear in explaining the use of the apartment. The apartment was everything we wished for, and the Trastevere area became home away from home to us. Andrea arranged transportation to and from the airport with a very attentive driver. We would recommend this apartment to any future visitors....quiet, cozy, clean and convenient.,

Trastevere Apartment

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was clean and comfortable. A perfect little get-away in a big city.

The kitchen has all the amenities one would need - including a great gas stove. When we booked it, we'd planned to cook. However, this was our last stop of a 16 day trip and we just splurged and went out to eat all the time. But I would have loved to cook there.

Andrea was the perfect host. He met us on arrival and provided lots of information for us. In addition to sights, he suggested several local restaurants - not touristy - and they were exceptional. He arranged our transfer to the airport, which was a great help. And he was there to see us off the morning we left. He is a great guy, full of enthusiasm and love of his city.

We had a great time!

Trastevere is the medieval area of Rome, which is separated by the river Tiber , from the city center . Despite its small streets , many tourists are attracted by its charm when visiting the city. Trastevere is the only place in Rome that has survived to the Middle Ages , maintaining its local identity .

There are many places to see in Trastevere, including San Grisogono , Ponte Sisto, Santa Maria in Trastevere , Santa Cecilia , Tiberina Island , Janiculum Hill (Unesco World Heritage ) and many others. Trastevere is full of historical places where you can get an idea of the culture of the place ...

Today, the Trastevere district is among the most beautiful and characteristic areas of Rome , the center of nightlife , food and wine , open-air theater of marvelous squares ( Trilussa square , Piazza S. Cosimato ... ) , churches and historic streets , the emblem of the ancient and contemporary Roman world.

In the evening it is very pleasant to take a walk in the Testaccio area , the area enclosed between popular way Marmorata , the Aurelian Walls and the Tiber. You can breathe here an original : the neighborhood is packed with local entertainment , one of the most intriguing of the other, that the nights have turned the area around Monte Testaccio in a real nightlife Capitoline .
