We LOVED staying here! Close to everything at the resort, great people watching from the windows while drinking coffee in the morning, kitchen was well stocked, and very our stay was very comfortable. The hot tub was amazing after a long day of skiing too! We have stayed in several places in Durango/Purgatory area and this is one of our favorites. The management company was super easy to work with, friendly, and gave great recommendations for things to do in the area. We actually never left the ski resort once we go there (for one reason, it poured snow the entire time, and for another, we had plenty of skiing and fun to do) but there are lots of great things to see and do. We will definitely be back again in the summer to explore the area more!
We spent way too long trying to get someone to repair the master tub that was backing up with sewer and the overflowing master toilet. The master bathroom was only usable the first day of our rental - the remaining four days completely unusable. It was very frustrating. A maintenance person stopped by about 8 hours after the first call, spent about 30 seconds running water in the tub, claimed that I had fixed it with the plunger and left with sewer still in tub. I cleaned the tub myself but sewer started coming back up the drain again that night. The toilet started overflowing the next day too. No plumber came to fix either tub or toilet for the remaining days we were there. Communication was poor - we spent time waiting for calls back and promised maintenance that never came. The condo is way overpriced for the condition and service. No one seemed to think they had a responsibility to fix the problem.
Other less major issues included a TV in master room that isn't connected to anything, TVs in other bedrooms received very poor reception with snowy pictures; all the dishes and pans were dirty/greasy - had to clean everything before we used. One bathroom had a door that was off track and very difficult to shut - wouldn't be a big deal since it was in a bedroom but since we had to all share during our stay, was a nuisance. The place had a great view but it was evident that there was a lack of maintenance of the place - at least 4 or 5 places that the roof is leaking, staining the walls. It had the only balcony in site that had 3 feet of snow on it when we arrived (most other balconies were clear and usable). I finally cleared using a cookie sheet. I don't tend to write bad reviews of places but this was a very disappointing experience. We never tried the hot tub - with sewer backing up in master, we didn't want to think what was in the hot tub.
We were able to wake about 30 min from the start of the kids' ski school (which already had a start time a bit later than other resorts), get them dressed and fed, and out to the check-in point just a few yards away from the condo! We could see them in their kid area from our condo window as well. Equipment and rentals were easily fitted the day before, lifts were plentiful and had almost non-existent lines (even during spring break), and staff was very friendly. We thought that the mountain had a great variety of runs to entertain all levels of skiers. The kitchen was stocked well with dishes/utensils/cookware, and we highly suggest visitors use it--the variety of resort restaurants wasn't huge, and they close fairly early. I think that the owners are in the process of updating the condo in stages--the bathroom surfaces were not as "modern" as the rest of the condo...but really, who cares about the color of tile or walls in a bathroom! In fact, the large shower close to the entry was a great resting place for wet clothes/boots. The condo was very quiet, and the cozy fireplace was well stocked with wood. We enjoyed the tubing hill and skiing for 3 days. The pizza at "Home Slice" in Durango was the best I've ever had.
