About Michelle Melgares

My name is Michelle and I own Fruita CrashPad a vacation rental management company in Fruita, Colorado. I grew up in the area and feel very fortunate to get to call it home. I love cycling and want to share the great things this community has to offer with the world. If you can do it outdoors, you can do it within 45 minutes of Fruita. Skiing and wine country tourism too!

Michelle Melgares purchased this house in 2004

Why Michelle Melgares chose Fruita

I always try to pick the 'best of the best' to add to the Fruita CrashPad family of vacation rental homes. This one was an easy pick for us. It has a great feel inside with bright colors and lots of windows, the back yard is very private and during the spring, summer and fall the yard is breathtaking. It is such a great place to hang out and we are honored to take care of it for the owners who have been using it as their personal vacation home for the last 10 years. They now open it up to you to enjoy also - we would be honored to have you come stay with us and know you will make many memories here just like the owners have!

Great and cozy place, right down town

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful little home that was perfect for our group. We had two adults and four children. Plenty of space, close to downtown and the hosts were great to work with. If and when we come back, we’ll stay here for sure.

Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

The house was in a perfect location about a block away from the downtown area. You can walk to dinner or grill out at the house. We had a great time and would definitely return.

Charming- Walk to Town

  • 5 of 5

This home was great for 7 ladies in Fruita for some biking- the storage shed held our bikes and the house is in a good location for walking to downtown Fruita. House has rustic, old-fashioned charm.

A wonderful house that is ideal for a mountain biking group.

  • 5 of 5

Three friends and I spent a week mountain biking in Fruita this March. Michelle was an excellent hostess, and the house was perfect for our purposes. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped. One of the crew was a professional chef, so we took maximum advantage of the nice grill and rear porch for some fantastic meals. Overall, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer home to rent in Fruita, we'll definitely return.

Great location; Clean; Mountain Biking getaway

  • 5 of 5

Two of my friends and I traveled from Florida to Fruita for a mountain biking adventure. The location of this property is in the heart of things...short walk to just about everything. We rented bikes from Over The Edge Sports and the guys at this bike shop know what they're doing; our bikes were tuned perfectly and they would be happy to change anything on the setup. In the mornings before heading out, we walked to Aspen St Coffee...the "hikers and bikers" was a favorite and a perfect way to start the day. There's not a lot of restaurants in Fruita, but we all couldn't get enough of Hot and beer were fantastic! At the end of the day, walk down to Copper Club Brewery and enjoy some fine beers; they don't serve food, but you can bring your own in. This property is within 15-20 minutes of both the 18 Road & Kokopelli trails. It's about an hour and a half from Moab. I recommend making the trek, but be sure to take State Hwy 128; it's the most scenic road I've been on.

This property was a great "hub" for our MTB activities and the owner is accommodating and easy to work with.

Charming, close to shopping and highway, very quiet and quaint community. Loved it!

Perfect place for small family gatherings. There were 7 in our group and 2 others who stayed in a hotel near by, but they only slept in there. we spent a good time together after our day trips, cooking, eating and playing games. Lots of seating around the kitchen tables and in the living room. This is a charming cottage that will take you back to a simpler time. Even though there was a TV, my kids who unfortunately are addicted, never once turned it on. There was plenty to do, and everything is close enough to walk to, even the grocery store.

Fruita is an outdoor enthusiast’s haven! We are a world class destination for mountain biking, road cycling, white water rafting, hiking, dinosaur tourism and of course if you climb... you must climb Independence Rock in our back yard, the Colorado National Monument. Fruita is also home to a brand new Community Center with exercise facilities, basketball courts, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool and much more! Our mild climate makes this a popular destination year round, but we must say that spring and fall are the best times to come see us! Enjoy one of our many festivals, come to listen to music at Country Jam or Rock Jam, or just come to tour the vineyards in nearby Palisade. Whenever you come, we know you are gonna love it!
