Beautiful and luxurious penthouse with jacuzzi located in the touristic area of Bocagrande at just 5 minutes from the Walled City and 15 minutes from the airport!

Enjoy a BBQ while seeing the sunset on a 17th floor apartment with great view to the Caribbean sea, Cartagena bay and part of the city walls.

This 160 square meters penthouse for up to 8 people has an incredible view to the sea and bay. Each bedroom counts with its own bathroom. The main two bedrooms (king and queen size beds) have a glass-door access to a balcony with views over the sea, bay and city including the San Felipe's Castle. The main bedroom has an additional flat TV, a king bed, a walking closet and a bathtub.

There is a bunk-bedding room that can be occupied by 3 people as there are 3 single beds. Also there is a studio with a sofa-bed for 2 if needed.

The apartment is fully furnished with all the necessary things and amenities for you to enjoy your stay. The living room is equipped with a 42' flat TV, home cinema system and comfy sofa. At the backyard you can get a sunbath next to the jacuzzi while listening music or enjoying a barbecue with friends and family.

You can make a good use of the entire penthouse and the public areas of the building such as swimming pool, sauna, Turkish bath, gym, etc.

Inside the apartment there is a dish washer for your commodity as well as a modern washing-dryer machine. There is a gas BBQ that can be placed in the backyard for its use.

Housekeeping service is included twice a week, however if you need more days this can be arranged upon request for an additional fee.

The apartment is located on a 17th floor. The building is located at the entrance of Bocagrande, one of the most important neighbourhoods of Cartagena and it is just 4 minutes away from the Walled /Old City and less than 15 minutes from the airport.

The neighbourhood is surrounded with restaurants, hotels, modern buildings, malls, entertaining areas, supermarkets, etc. Right in front of the building there is a supermarket and about 5 minutes driving you can find two 24 hours open supermarkets.

You can reach the most important spots of the city within 5-10 minutes by car.

There is public transportation next to the building. Private covered parking space is included. There is a free visitors parking lot in the building if needed.

From the airport you only need to get a cab and give the driver the name of the building.

Please note that currently the construction of a new hotel is taking place next to the building and noise can be heard in the apartment from early hours in the morning. The apartment is 70% soundproof though but still you will hear some noise at some hours.

Don't let this be you...

It's unimaginable how different the photos are in comparison to the awful reality. The only good thing I can say about the place that was correctly advertised is that it is well located, next to the beach and a supermarket. We dealt directly with Jonathan so he didn't have to pay VRBO commission and he gave us a discount on a two and a half month rental. Other than paying the first few days through VRBO we paid the balance directly to his account in The Netherlands.

The apartment was terrible, run down and neglected. There is a 50+ floor building being remodeled 10 feet from both the jacuzzi/dining area and bedrooms. We awoke almost every morning between 7:00 and 7:30 to a symphony of jackhammers, electric saws and the workman's elevator.

The photos with ocean views were either taken years ago or they were photoshopped. The apartment is surrounded by taller buildings and beside the veranda are two HUGE industrial fans that supply air for the Shopping Center. The jacuzzi has been broken for months and is covered. The veranda is protected from falling debris by a tin roof and ratty netting that the construction company installed.

The AC in the bedroom was broken. The AC in the living room was freezing and would not shut off. Jonathan called the AC company and 8 days later they changed the unit in the bedroom but living room AC remained broken.

The apartment was filthy when we arrived and the sheets and towels were smelly and wet. The pillows on the bed were sofa cushions stuffed into pillowcases so we bought new pillows. Jonathan had a woman come in to clean and she came regularly twice a week after that.

Light bulbs were burned out in every room including the lamps and were never changed. The TV in the bedroom worked but the screen was so scratched it was difficult to see the image.

The kitchen was poorly equipped with just a few mismatched pots and pans with no tops and with scraped off teflon floating in everything we tried to cook. The kitchen lacked rudimentary items like salt, pepper, sugar and cutting knives. There is no microwave. Only the broiler worked. The oven was supposed to be fixed but like the jacuzzi, air conditioning, Internet, DVD and light bulbs it never was. The door of the cabinets was falling off. The kitchen disposal was broken and a horrid stench emitted from inside. Jonathan had the door put back on and the disposal fixed but it still didn't work. The Master bathtub was disgusting and we never used it.

Great place for a relaxing stay in Cartagena !

I stayed in this apartment for a month While working in Cartagena and I can recommend it to anyone who wants a nice, clean apartment with beautiful views close to beaches, restaurants, shopping etc. I especially enjoyed the possibility to have a barbecue on the patio as well as taking a bath in the Jacuzzi ! Friendly and helpful staff and the owner was nice to talk to as well as very helpful. I will definately try to stay here again, next time back in Cartagena !
