This is a great family house, with extensive lawn space for croquet and other outdoor games. The garden and terrace are lovely for both daytime and evening gatherings. The proximity to the beach and harbor makes it especially attractive and markedly reduces dependency on a car. This is a great vacation house for a large family, especially safe for children as it is set back from the road, with expansive lawns and space to run and play.

About Nancy L. Perkins (owner's daughter)
Owner is a retired NY lawyer, 11th generation resident of Little Compton, where he summered as a child and later as an adult with his own family. The manager is Nancy L. Perkins, the owner's daughter.
Nancy L. Perkins (owner's daughter) purchased this House in 1963
Why Nancy L. Perkins (owner's daughter) chose Little Compton
This house was chosen because of location, spaciousness, and the sense that would be ideal for family and friends. It is filled with light and has lovely views. Moreover, a large part of what drew me to this house was that I wanted my children to be able to get to the harbor, beach and the golf club independently, without relying on an adult to drive them.
What makes this House unique
Ideal location, great house! There is a back stairway leading to a small "maids" bedroom.

Our family has enjoyed our stays for the last two years in this wonderful, somewhat rustic, large summer house. The house has all the basic accomodations, furnishings, and equipment for an enjoyable stay for a large family, plus two wonderful porches, patio, and large yard. The location is a plus being close to Sakonnet Harbor and walking distance to private beach. Local rental management is very responsive. Cellphone and internet access is provided, but it is problematic in this part of Little Compton. Otherwise, a delightful rental.
125 Sakonnet Point Road
This large, multi-storied (three) house and its location was perfect for our family. It held 7 people easily with lots of room to spread out inside and out that included a great view from the front porch. Bathrooms were plentiful and worked well; kitchen had appliances that worked fine with a couple you need instructions/help figuring out how to make them work. Well stocked with plenty of dishware and cooking/eating utensils. Washer/dryer worked well with plenty of towels, linens, etc. All the beds were comfortable. No A/C, but this was fine for our family and fans worked well the few times it was hot. Internet is spotty within the house and maybe should consider relocating within the house. Cell phone connections can be difficult throughout the Little Compton area and not limited to this delightful location. Support from the local real estate manager is responsive, attentive, and helpful. We very much hope to return.
Little Compton has scenic vistas, unspoiled pastures lined with old New England stone walls, fields that roll down to the Sakonnet River and the ocean. The village is classic colonial with a traditional commons at it's center. The town is home to farmers, fishermen, year rounders and summer people, and is off the beaten path of tourism. The location of this house is ideal as it is a short walk to beaches and to the harbor.
