About Nicole & Brian Leonard

We are a family of four that resides in California. I am an ER nurse and my husband is a program manager. We have two young kids and wanted a place to call our own in this beautiful part of the world. Maybe some day we can retire here, but for now we will settle with visiting whenever we can.

Nicole & Brian Leonard purchased this condo in 2013

Why Nicole & Brian Leonard chose Playa Langosta

We first visited Playa Langosta in early 2013. We absolutely fell in love with the area. We love that Langosta is a little more quiet and family friendly, but at the same time you can just walk down the road to Tamarindo if you want a little more liveliness or a night out. This area not only has beautiful beaches but has so much biodiversity. We love all the wildlife we can find all around us. We see beautiful birds, howler monkeys, and iguanas on a regular basis and we also enjoy abundant sea life in the tide pools of Playa Langosta.

What makes this condo unique

We purchased this condo in December 2013. We finished furnishing it in February of 2014. Everything in it is brand new and was professionally decorated with furniture custom made locally. We chose our furnishings with comfort and luxury in mind. We hope to provide you with the best rental experience possible. We have a property manager locally who will see to your needs in a timely manner if any arise.

Stayed on the 5th floor; really comfortable and super good bed and perfect kitchen layout.

I noticed someone didn't like the location..wrong; the location is great. Yes you have to negotiate some volcanic rock on the way to the big beach at the river. Check out the tide pools in the rocks; bright orange puffer type of fish and neons..gorgeous and lots of fabulous birds.-

The rooms are big and really clean. The pool is perfect, with a great BBQ area and lots of lounge chairs. Tamarindo Vacation Rentals does a fantastic job. The town is a lot of fun.

The only negative is the south view from the balconies(there are 2) faces Naxos condos, which block the beautiful south view towards the river. Literally my only negative.

I am prejudiced, because I love Costa Rica and the Lovely people there.

Room Tip: I liked having a higher room..I was in 56..terrific views

Such a great condo!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Peninsula #56 for only a week but wished it could have been for longer! Enjoyed it so much! There was so much to like- the condo was super clean, spacious, well laid-out, and very comfortable! Great information notebook with great recommendations in the condo that was very helpful! We loved the the walk into town not to far but also far enough to get in a good quality walk in. We ended up walking to town a lot on the beach- a short 5 minute from the condo. Loved the 2-minute walk to"Walter's Fish and Cheese", deli, and restaurant.

Experience Pura Vida Paradise

  • 5 of 5

There is nothing quite like paradise and when you get to stay in a condo such as this, paradise reaches entirely new levels. The two bedroom condo is centrally located with incredible views. Take in all that Cost Rica offers sitting on one of two balconies. Hear the Monkeys playing in the trees while you watch the sun rise. Have a glass of wine or play a family board game while the sun sets behind the trees. Don't feel like exploring one of the many nearby beaches, go down to the amazing pool. Enjoy a swim and cook out in the outdoor community kitchen. Dozens of delicious restaurants and shopping are within walking distance. The condo is beautifully decorated and couldn't be more comfortable. You have all of the comforts of home while enjoying the surf, sand and sites of Costa Rica. Our family surfed, went zip lining, explored numerous beaches, ate amazing food and enjoyed meeting the friendly people of Costa Rica. The landlords provided us with multiple lists of activities, restaurants and sites. The condo is located in a gated secure building with dedicated parking. This is Pura Vida at its finest.

Great condo - definitely planning to stay again

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay in Langosta/Tamarindo. The condo was beautifully furnished and was equipped with everything we could possibly need! It had a gorgeous view from the balcony, and the complex had a wonderful pool to relax by when we were not out by the beach.

The condo is in a secure gated community, is within a short distance to the beach and within 15 minutes to town where there are many restaurants to choose from. The owners were wonderful and gave us many tips for places to eat and things to do/see. We are definitely planning a return visit!

Peaceful, Easy Feeling.....the vacation of our dreams!

  • 5 of 5

We have been wanting to go to Costa Rica for quite a while and when we finally decided to visit this wonderful place, we wanted to be sure to stay somewhere that offered all the comforts of home and then some. This condo was not only beautiful with its gorgeous decor, but it was incredibly comfortable. Everything from the sofas and beds, to the patio furniture were comfy and cozy. We loved having the full kitchen to cook breakfast (on most days) before heading out for whatever adventure awaited us. The patio and view from it are awesome. The bathrooms are both very large and the jacuzzi tub in the master is wonderful. I found myself there a few times with a glass of wine. My husband and son both loved the fact that there was Netflix available to watch some TV when we had down time and we all loved the condo pool. It was a great size with lots of lounge charis. The condo has 24 hour security with a gated entrance, so we felt very safe and sound too. The condo has everything you could want....extra bath towels, beach towels, hair dryers, lots of cookware and some essential kitchen gadgets like a corkscrew. :)

The condo is in THE BEST location. It's not in the middle of the liveliness of the main street in Tamarindo, but is close enough to walk if you wanted (we usually drove though, which takes 5 or 6 minutes). It's next door to some great restaurants--El Sappo for Pizza (we went twice) and Walter's Fish and Cheeses (a cute little shop run by the nicest man who will make you a plate of delicious smoked fish, meats and cheese). We also very much enjoyed the resort across the street, Cala Luna. I had a massage and facial there (all outdoors in a private, beautiful setting) and we spent some time at the pool/bar there and watched the sunset from their beach access area. So breathtaking. The staff there is beyond friendly.

In town, there are so many places to eat, so many happy hours to enjoy and lots of areas on the beach for having fun. My 12 year old son took a surf lesson one day and other days just had fun on a boogie board.

You can really make this vacation what you want. This spot is perfect for families like ours who want some peace and quiet (I actually finished reading a novel on this vacation!), but it also offers many adventures that are close by. I would highly recommend Peninsula #56 for all of the reasons above and the owners are extremely helpful, friendly, thoughtful people. Top notch! We would stay there again for sure!

Comfortable home away from home.

  • 5 of 5

One of the things I loved the most about this condo is how nicely and comfortably it is furnished. We travel extensively and often find ourselves sourounded by furniture and beds that simply aren't comfortable. This home is decorated top notch.

Although we had a car, we walked everywhere. Loved the little shrimp shack, early morning walks on the beach with a stop for breakfast and smoothies, seeing monkeys, Walter's next door for happy hour treats and decent wine, and stand up paddle board yoga.

It was the super hot(way hot) and dry season(ugly scenery) in April and I would not return during that time of year again. Also unfortunate is how close the condo building is built next door. It blocks much of what would be a spectacular view.

Even so, this is a fabulous place to stay. Near the action, but removed enough for a peaceful and lovely escape.

My only recommendation would be to provide beach chairs, a beach umbrella, and small cooler to make it easier for guests to go out and explore beaches. We found a place in town to rent them but it wasn't easy. Most places we stay that are on or near a beach provides these items.

If you are looking to visit this area I recommend this condo. The owners were nice and easy to work with. Thank you.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for staying at our condo and providing your review and feedback. Based on your recommendations, we have now included a collapsible cooler and ice packs for guests to use. I am going to look into getting a few chairs and umbrellas in the future. You are right about April, It is probably the driest month of the year to visit Guanacaste. While you are guaranteed beautiful blue skies and sunshine everyday, you do have the dry landscape that comes with it. If you ever get a chance to visit again try June or July. You many have some times of rain, but you will still have plenty of sun to have fun in too. It is much more green and lush once the rains kick in. Plus the sunsets are absolutely amazing with a little more clouds in the sky. Thank you again and Pure Vida!

We had a great time staying at the condo. We felt very safe with the 24 hour security. The condo was nice and quiet. We walked to a few close beaches. It is a 5 min ride into town with tons of restaurants and shops. The condo is very spacious and cozy! Definitely recommend staying here!
