About the property

4/5 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms - Spectacular Mountain Views !

Share our dream home - tastefully modernized 1802 farmhouse. 4/5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, kitchen, separate dining room, large sitting room. There is an original side and a newer conversion with all the latest luxuries including custom bedroom with fireplace, bathroom with whirlpool tub and separate multi-jet shower with steam jets both with fire places, under floor heating and air conditioning for the summer. Plenty of storage.

The original section of the house was modernized to accommodate our many friends and visitors and benefits from three double bedrooms, a super bathroom with claw-foot cast iron tub, Kohler shower etc. The attic is available to kids and is equipped with three futons for some attic fun and adventure.

The sitting room is very large and is the natural hangout for your clan. There is a large fire place which you can sit in front of for hours and or look out over what the locals call 'the hundred mile view' - quite spectacular at any time of year.

The house is great as a base for leaf peeping in the Fall, to Mount Snow ski resort which is a ten minute drive in the Winter and the Spring and the Summer - all super times to be in Vermont.

About Michelle Smith

We are a family of three who brought the house as great place to get away from our home in Bermuda and wanted a change of scenery. We subsequently moved to Atlanta and love our home but realized we don't have as much time on our hands as we used to (our son is now 13 and busy !). So our loss is your gain.

Michelle Smith purchased this house in 2000

Why Michelle Smith chose Mt. Snow

My husband and I brought the property in 2000 as a vacation home when we wanted to experience a change from our home in Bermuda. Over the years we renovated the home and undertook a complete rebuild of the garage and carriage house which adjoined the house - big but really fun project.

What makes this house unique

Perfect getaway location - close to Mount Snow and everything the area has to offer year round.

House is great for 1-2 families - 4 bedrooms can each sleep 2 with an optional bedroom that has a big pullout couch. We regularly have 6-8 friends in the house total and have squeezed 10 at a push.

The house is old and yet benefits from all the modern necessities you will need short or long term. Its really the best of all worlds, old house, new bits and close to all the fun stuff !

Beautiful property in southern Vermont

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in this updated and expanded farmhouse. It had a lot of modern amenities but retained its original Vermont charm. Rambling and comfortable. Beautiful views and sunrises out the front windows. A great fireplace to warm up around after a long day of skiing. Snow was too deep too explore property w/o snow shoes.

Quintessential Vermont!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for several weekends during the ski season and fell in love with it! It is a quintessential Vermont farmhouse, with updated bathrooms and plenty of space for a large family. Kids loved the "playroom" off the master and adults loved the heated garage (I need one at home now!) as well as the large fireplace and the sprawling master bath. The mudroom was perfect for storing gear after a day of fun in the snow. The house is convenient to The Hermitage Club and Mt Snow and all of the surrounding restaurants.

Idyllic country home, great base of operations for all things VT!

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed at this beautiful VT country home numerous times over the past few years, in all seasons. It is a fantastic base camp for all things Southern VT, including hiking and fishing in the spring and summer, fall foliage and great skiing. Access to Mt Snow is less than 10 minutes. The house itself is suited for up to 2 to 3 families, or one large family that can spread out thru 4 different bedrooms PLUS a large attic that is perfect for kids to bunk in. The interior is warm and inviting, lots of wood, exposed beams and great artwork. Great natural light and a stunning easterly view with the best sun rises. The fireplace roars within minutes and the endless stockpile of wood on the front porch was a real treat. Outside, there is a great deck that overlooks a large sloping hill for playing and sledding in the winter. If I could ever dream of having a "home away from home" this idyllic country hose would be the top of the list.

Beautiful, charming home for families

  • 5 of 5

We rented this home in December 2014 and could not be happier. It housed 2 families very comfortably and was filled with charm (exposed beams) , lovely furniture and artwork and felt like home. The restored farmhouse was charming -- the kids loved the steep stairs and attic, and the new addition was modern with heated floors and a delux bathroom. There were 4 queen beds (1 was a pullout) and a King all in spacious rooms -- The common areas were large and perfect for family games, listening to music and eating meals. We enjoyed cooking, sharing a meal and sitting around the fire after a day of skiing the most.) I would highly recommend this home for families. You will feel like you are staying at the home of a good friend ... It is well cared for... clean ... and has been given a lot of love and attention -- It is not a typical property used only for rentals. Owner was great to communicate with -- A++++
