Overview

About the property

1 bed, 1 bath, sleeps 3

This updated 1950's style luxury guest house has 730 sq ft of indoor space, and a 320 sq ft outdoor living room. The spacious bedroom includes a new top of the line king size bed, a cozy sitting area with a 32' flat screen television (premium cable, DVR, and DVD), and black out shades. Every detail of comfort and relaxation has been attended, from reading lights, to lap top table and iPhone docking station. The separate kitchen has a range/oven, dishwasher, microwave, full size refrigerator, mountain spring drinking water, a table for four, and everything you need for cooking wonderful meals at home. The full size closet, shelves and cabinets provide plenty of space to accommodate even the most indiscriminate packer! Because the weather is so inviting, the outdoor living room is furnished with heavy wood and cushioned sofa and chairs, perfect for a nap in the shade, or morning coffee and reading.

The best thing about it, however, is the location! Just 1.8 miles from the U of A, and a 5 minute drive to downtown restaurants, museums and galleries. Hi Corbett baseball field is a half block away, and a five mile exercise path is fifty yards from the front door. Walk to the movies, a restaurant for dinner, Starbucks, the zoo, or the rose garden in Reid Park in 10 to 15 minutes. Also within a half mile are 2 great public golf courses, a large public tennis facility, public swimming pool and therapy pool. A bike path runs in front of the house, and several bus stops are nearby, within easy walking distance.

About Kimberlyn McGreal

We love Tucson: The great weather, the people, the restaurants, and all the activities available to us here in Southern Arizona. We have lived here for 15 years, and continue to find great beauty in the landscape and lots of joy in the laid back lifestyle of the 'Old Pueblo.'

Kimberlyn McGreal purchased this cottage in 2001

Why Kimberlyn McGreal chose Tucson & Southern Arizona

The neighborhood is actually Colonia Solana, but that isn't a VRBO subcategory for Tucson. Just across Country Club, the western border of our neighborhood, is Sam Hughes. We love this historic neighborhood. With the arroyo across the street, we see lots of wildlife, and it feels like we are out in nature, when really, there couldn't be a more central location to access the action of Tucson living.

What makes this cottage unique

The homes in this area are on 1+ acre lots, and situated well for privacy. With access to everything close by, we spend very little time in the car, and lots of time outdoors enjoying the natural and cultivated landscape.

Tucson VRBO review

  • 5 of 5

What a great guest house! It was exactly as described and shown on the photos. It was the perfect base for our visit to Tucson, everything we needed and very comfortable. So nice to have water, coffee and fruit in the unit when we checked in. The patio was a wonderful spot to relax after spending the day hiking in the Saguaro National Parks.

Lovely private getaway, thoughtfully appointed

  • 5 of 5

This was a charming guest house in a very attractive, quiet neighborhood, yet walking distance from restaurants and stores. Kimberlyn and Tom went out of their way to make our stay comfortable; thoughtfully supplying everything we could have wanted. The cooler and ice bricks were perfect for our hiking trip to Sabino Canyon! Our hosts greeted us warmly and offered great advice about restaurants and activites. There was a walking path just a house away that was perfect for an early morning walk.

The bed was most comfortable, the temperature control was very efficient, and the private patio outside the suite was a great addition to our stay. One of the most comfortable VRBO stays we have had!

Great neighborhood, lovely guest house

  • 5 of 5

Kimberlyn has attended to every detail...the patio is perfect for an afternoon rest after a strenuous hike. The kitchen has everything one might need. The bedroom with couch and tv is exceptionally comfortable! A path meanders along the arroyo and there is a walking/running/ biking path across the street. This guest house was the perfect place for my vacation. Thank you!

We enjoyed the charming guest house...well supplied.....a bit cozy but manageable . Great location to downtown, super neighborhood, wild life near the wash...biking and walking path, college baseball, which we enjoyed, our times on the patio for morning coffee and evening wine. Bed was comfortable, which means a lot.

Quiet, beautiful, perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We were very happy with our choice to stay in the Guest House for our weekend in Tuscon. Kimberlyn has created a space I would return to anytime I'm visiting Tuscon. The bed and couch were very comfortable, everything was clean, the kitchen was adorable, and the shaded back patio was a lovely retreat. We all enjoyed the artful touches throughout the house! Thanks!

We loved staying here! Beautiful and so representative of the beauty and serenity of Tucson.

  • 5 of 5

The property was well maintained and captured the essence of Southwest casita. Two beautiful, inviting patios. Spacious kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. The pictures don't do it justice! 10 minutes from UofA, close to restaurants and shopping. But when you are at the casita, you feel removed from all of this!

Starbucks is a half mile away at El Con Mall, as well as a Cinemark movie theater, Target, In-n-out, and many other shops and restaurants.
