Gourmet kitchen, well appointed, fireplace, private deck and patio allowing for sun or shade any time of day, cable TV, VCR, and WIFI. Family friendly. No smoking. NO pets. Perfectly located between Nelson and the Slocan Valley. Just a quick 10 minutes to Nelson. Hiking and walking trails less than 5 minutes away. Multiple beaches within a 10-15 minute drive, 25 minutes to WhiteWater Ski Resort and 35 minutes to Red Mountain in Rossland.
The location of this property was perfect for our trip as we only had to drive 10 minutes to the Valhalla Powdercats main location. The house was clean and had a great floor plan. The kitchen allowed for great socializing because of the counter space and layout of the prep and cooking spaces. The floors were beautiful. I would recommend this house and would stay here again.
The cabin was warm and spacious for 8 people and a baby. The view is amazing in the mornings all covered in snow, the decor makes it cozy and relaxing. Close enough to Nelson and ski resorts. My only complaints are that there are no blinds so it’s hard for a baby to nap with bright day light and the kitchen doesn’t have many pots to cook for large groups. Overall, the place is nice. We’d definitely go back!
To anyone traveling to the Nelson BC area, look no further. This home is absolutely beautiful and well appointed. To often when we travel, we find homes without the "stuff" we need. Sometimes its simple things like steak knives or tongs. Do not worry should you be considering this lovely property. Christine was perfect to work with and her home was everything and more that we had anticipated. And if you happen to be CAT skiing at Valhalla, it is right up the road. Could not be any more convenient. Thank you for letting us lease the week from you. We hope to be back soon!

Myself and my 4 friends stayed in this beautiful house for our annual hiking trip. The beds were all very comfortable, kitchen beautiful and stocked with the basics so was fun to cook for our group, and the views from the two decks were beautiful so we enjoyed that. We loved to hang out by the fireplace in the gorgeous living room after a long days hike. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend for families or a group of people. The hiking in the area was amazing! Getting to the hikes was often a challenge down some pretty tricky gravel roads though. We hiked Kokanee Glacier Park to Kokanee Lake (east entrance by Gibbon Lake), Plaid Lake area crossing on the ferry, MacBeth Glacier area driving up north of Kaslo, Slocan Lake shore in Valhalla Provincial Park, Toad Mountain, and Pulpit Rock. My favorite was Toad Mountain. Sure enjoyed hanging out in town, fun shops and restaurants. Thanks again for sharing your home!
I highly recommend this beautiful house. My husband, 8 year old daughter, my sister and her two kids recently stayed here while visiting my father in Nelson. The house is gorgeous, located in a quiet area where you are relatively close to other houses; enough to make you feel that you aren't too remote, and yet it is very quiet. There are wonderful views of the mountains, a spacious yard with a swing set for young kids and a lovely deck for early morning coffee or afternoon wine. Christine was responsive and helpful when I asked questions. I wasn't used to not finding a binder of information about the house and local attractions as we typically rent houses through Home Away or similar services and that seems to be the standard. Having said that, when I asked, she provided the information. There is a someone in the unit below which I had felt apprehensive about at first but it is a completely self contained unit and the lady downstairs (Melanie, I think), wasn't there often and when we did happen to run into her in the garden she was extremely helpful. I ended up getting a terrible cold my first day and my sister talked to Melanie - Melanie gave her something to give to me for my cold; she also gave some great tips about local hikes and helped us plan day trips.
The house was also extremely well equipped. Most vacation rental homes have little to no supplies but there was plenty of essentials... toilet paper, kleenex, garbage bags, dish washer detergent, spices, salt etc.
We were primarily staying there to help/visit my father but there a number of hikes, beaches, biking paths close by. We went zip lining close to Nelson (15 min drive), to the hot springs (about an hour drive), and to a number of other relatively close by towns where there were great options for hiking, biking, swimming and fishing.
Coming from the city, it was a bit exciting to watch the moose and bear in the middle of the night from our bedroom window. The bear was our fault as we put garbage in the bin outside which we shouldn't have (we're city folk and don't know better) but the moose ... no explanation as we hadn't put anything outside....
I would definitely go back (if Christine will have us as the kids broke a couple of dishes!)
Christine's property is absolutely fantastic! Large, beautiful high-end home with a view of the mountains is perfect for total relaxation. We were a group of 4 couples on a motorbike trip. There was lots of room for everyone to have their own space. The beds were so comfortable. The kitchen facilities were superb. There is nothing lacking in this property. We thoroughly enjoyed the tranquillity of watching sunsets on the large wrap around deck. You won't be disappointed. This rental us well worth the money.

I request that the linens be pulled off the bed and any dirty towels be put in the laundry room. If the home is not left reasonably clean or if dirty dishes are left to be done, an additional fee of $150 will be taken from the damage deposit. Also we live in a very close knit quiet community with lots of young children, please respect out neighbors and reduce noise level after 10:30pm. Thank you
